  1. Mir 24n is a great lens. Low cost to.
  2. For those that shoot on NX1, mainly those that are posting on this forum, it's a relevant negative.
  3. Get the D750, incredible for still and video. You don't seem worried about 4K at this point and the D750 has incredible 1080p with a great, easily editable codec.
  4. Currently I shoot 16-235 in camera and edit directly in Premiere. No transcode. For web I output 4K Constant Bitrate at 100 mbps.
  5. Getting great results with this hack so far, but I have found an error. If you use the viewfinder instead of rear screen while the hack loads the whole camera freezes, only fix is a battery pull.
  6. D750 and D810 have excellent 60p as well.
  7. I have no idea how he screwed up the skin tones so badly in that second test. Edit: Contrast was at minimum, think this was the culprit.
  8. DIS only does ~1.25 additional crop. Not to heavy.
  9. I'm using premiere mainly because I know it. I want to move Resolve, but I've had issues with audio (audio lags behind video when performance drops, needs to ad some advanced tools) and output (4K H264 is not supported in windows, no image stretch options on export, other issues). Currently it does not see the audio from NX1 files. Will probably continue to use both depending on the project. I do prefer the menus and file organization in Resolve.
  10. I'll echo what some others have said, get a "Battletested" KineMini 4K. http://www.kinefinity.com/shop/kinemini-battle-tested/?lang=en
  11. Do not use it for general color correction. It does not offer anywhere close to real time playback on my machine unless I drop to 1/4 quality. Resolve, looks, FilmConvert all run in real time.
  12. Yeah running the Trial version of the Tiffen set for Premiere. Had an imprompu interview the other day and really needed to soften it. With about 10 minutes of tweaking i'm getting pretty great results. This is the pro mist filter.
  13. Orrrrr 4) People who think 3D and "ride" films like the marvel movies would benefit from the higher frame rate in the action scenes. Also, just because I appreciate an old book doesn't mean I won't pick up my kindle 99.9 percent of the time.
  14. 1) Very good, about an hour and a half to 2 hours 2) No it does not turn off due to heat ever.
  15. "Hello, Geoffrey, I have tested with mp4 with h.265 video stream and an AAC audio stream both at 41KHz and 48KHz. It does not look like we will accept MPEG encoded audio in those formats, so it is possible that off your media has an MPEG, rather than AAC audio then there might be no audio heard in DaVinci Resolve for those clips. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this matter. Regards, Dmitry Kitsov Technical Support Agent Blackmagic Design Inc. " Very disappointed in this, why would you say you support H265, and have to pay them a licensing fee to use the codec, then refuse footage from the one camera that shoots in it!
  16. Yes It's called lumetri? Did you miss that big update? It renders the appropriate color space and performance does seem better, but not significantly so for me.
  17. Wow. Have to try those settings.
  18. rdouthit the specs for the camera list sensor based VR for 1080p, mind testing that out?

    Nikon D500

UMMMM Anyone else notice the Electronic VR for 1080p video?? Also listed here: https://photographylife.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-nikon-d500
  20. That clip looks excellent, even with post stabilization the typical rolling shutter motion artifacts do not seem to be present in the image, especially with you shooting a ~200mm equivalent. Thank you so much for posting this. Please upload a 1080p clip if you can. I use the D750 for some 1080p work and love it, would love to see if it's comparable on this camera.

    One Lens?

I have that lens as well. Great performer.
  22. It has anamorphic de-squeeze, false color, and is under $300 with arm and hood. Sold. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
