Turboguard got a reaction from Dustin in Tons of problems with new Macbook Pro
Again, here's my set up that I edit hour long 4K time lines with. Yes I do have my bus set to 1/4 and if working with lots of effects maybe even 1/8 resolution (e.g. not even proxy!). I have zero crashes or hick ups. Don't understand how the graphics cards 4 years later could be worse than the (perfectly fine) ones I'm working with at the moment...

Turboguard got a reaction from DBounce in Tons of problems with new Macbook Pro
I still edit all my work on my mid2012 retina MBP. e.g. first generation and I have zero problems. So reading through here I'm kinda laughing at what you people are considering problems. I can tell I'm gonna love working on my new late 2016 MBP!

Turboguard reacted to Tim Sewell in 6 LUTs for BM Video Assist?
The logical answer would be to employ the LUT you'll be applying in post, and failing that simply a Rec709 LUT. I know that Deakins, for instance, uses his own specially designed look LUT for monitoring to give him a good approximation of how the final images will look.

Turboguard got a reaction from User in 2013 MacBook Pro - OSX 10.8.5 - Premiere Pro 8.2.0 - Software Update Before I Continue Editing?
I'm on El Capitan 10.11.4 with latest Premiere CC (2015.2 "9.2"). No problems at all here.

Turboguard got a reaction from IronFilm in Blackmagic View Assist 4K records 4K ProRes to SD card for just $895
Ugh, why not just put Ursa mini OS on it?! They would sell like crazy?! I wonder how much more it would cost them per unit to make that a reality, how much processing power does LUT support need?!

Turboguard got a reaction from Cinegain in Should I wait for a blackmagic price Cut this summer?
I for one, am grateful for cinegain's humor. And I agree, sitting here waiting for a possible sale that has happened only ONCE before, is kind of silly. So either hold your horses another while and use what you already own, or just get what's available at the moment for the price it's sold. 995 for either pocket or micro cinema is actually really cheap considering value. Bmpcc's accessories today is really cheap too.

Since its a smaller improvement from what we expected, a price cut would be nice. How about the old $500 summer special.

Turboguard got a reaction from Liam in Print from BMPCC DNG
I don't know if this makes sense to upload a jpg of the prints. Also it's already dark here and I don't have good lighting in my apartment (I like it dark haha).
But yeah, took a pic of 3 of them. They're all 17x11" printed on Premium Luster paper on a Epson 3880 I believe.
EDIT; I'm gonna retake them tomorrow during the day for better images of the images, hehe.

I've been doing inkjet. But now ordering a book from Blurb. It's 8x8".
Here's some tests, but these are all from Prores HQ.
EDIT; Wow shitty autofocus from the iPhone, the measure tape is in inches.

I don't know if anyone is still interested in this but I printed a collection of 12 images in 17x11" and the images look gorgeous. The sharpness and detail is so crisp and nice and when I had a small showing of the images to some photographers they said they were really impressed these images coming from 2Mpix files.
All I did before printing (after initial color correcting) was to resize the images 200% in ACR. Again, if someone is interested I can take some pics and upload of some of the printed images.

Turboguard got a reaction from austinchimp in Adobe Premiere Pro CC Now Supports H.265 NX1 Files
Anyone knows if it works with El Capitan now? As in works exceptionally well. I had some minor bugs that were really annoying. Updating now....
