BM staff wear black shirts as well - facists! and don't get me started on their lies about shipping times. AFAIK they have made just 10 units so far and don't intend to make any more because they just don't care about their customers. They just suck both in their products and attitude.

They’re white, what did you expect?

BM are a fascist organisation -  Black Magic / Black Shirt!  Also I never wanted this camera but with their stupid low prices they made me an offer I couldn't refuse so not only Fascist but Mafia mentality. Free software and battery are a bad joke. I need free trousers with extra large pocket for this so-called 'pocket' camera to work for me.

Ewwwww free stuff?! Affordability?! Groooosss, did I accidentally buy a camera for poor people?! I’m giving my P4K away, my iPhone Xs Max has better color science, IBIS AND shoots 4K60p! Oh and it was more expensive than the P4K so I won’t be embarrassed when shooting my next gig with it, PHEW!

you forgot to add a fuji and sony comment, but i wont hold that against you  ? it seems more than one manufacturer has missed delivery dates, its not the first time nor will it be the last. no idea about the lumix or its specs. but at least the company hasn't gone broke and left you high and dry.... yet ?

But I saw tons of total nobodies using the camera back in August all over YouTube! It already exists, where is mine?! I bought the original on release, used it for gigs such as products for e-commerce companies back in day, as well as my partner using it for his street photography (he’s a famous photographer) so WHY do I have to wait?!?! It already exists?!?

  3. Okay guys, PANASONIC DROPPED THE FUCKING BOMB. I ordered Lumix LX100-2 on announcement, was said to receive it OCT 1st!!! Then that changed to Oct 16th, which is tomorrow, and STILL no shipping, I looked at BH now and it says exp delivery Oct 25th?!? WTF Panasonic?! I will never trust a company that lies so much to its customers! I’m not canceling my preorder cause it was a gift to my partner, but listen PANA, you lost a customer in me! Panasonic = Evil corporation mentality, I’m nothing but a slave consumer to them.

edit: this is a Panasonic thread no?

Common sense. Lack of common sense isn't good for me as customer. You all look like to be part of a sect. Like they are God or something. They didn't send a camera to Andrew Reid, they should know why. How old are you? They're arrogant. Another viewpoint. You think it isn't relevant, what are you doing here?

I’ve done commercials with BMD cameras and Software that A LOT of people have seen, a lot more people than the people writing and viewing this thread, did I get a free camera? Can we put this shit behind us?

Hi guys,  how much do you think will it take to outfit a P4K including SSD and batteries? Will P4K + SSD + additional batteries exceed $2000+?

I have P4K, T5 and 5 LPE6 at the moment. Probably rounded up to say 1800

Sure, but we’re talking about this camera and those highlights don’t look so nice. The original frame was posted to rave about the DR. I don’t see it.

I am fairly certain that even a c100 in log would handle that better.

Ben, I didn’t post any of the shots to rave. I even said that I was intoxicated (probably 10th old fashion at the time I brought out the camera). Did you see the OG post?

  6. Well guys, as someone who has it, (and works professionally with cameras) I can tell you I love it! That’s it, it’s a beautiful piece of technology and even though I haven’t had time to shoot something bigger than a few ProRes clips in the evenings before bed I totally adore the images it produce. I’m very excited for my 8sinn cage and T5 holder to arrive next week as I have 2 days off to really get to know the camera!

I still find it funny that reviewers of the old BMPCC pulled out the word "pocket" and pretended it belong with the RX100x.
IMO, its a Cinema camera. A pocket sized cinema camera. No matter how much you say that lenses, batteries etc makes it bigger.
That does not take away the fact that this is a cinema camera. A pocket sized cinema camera.

    THIS!

Why even spend energy on complaining over that it doesn't fit in your pocket, who wants to put a camera in your god damned literal pocket, I barely put my cell phone in my pocket!

They did have a bunch of cameras at the event for people to try out, which I did, but they didn't allow us to record onto our SD cards. The camera is fairly weighty (tried it with a veydra lens), but that does make it quite nice to hold.

It’s heavy with the Sigma 18-35 on it. I can’t single hand it for very long. Second night now I have some time to play with it. Loving everything so far!

    Added link in original post!

Here's a quick grade of the ProRes. Grades super smooth, as expected. Love how it handles details and highlights. This footage is like kindergarten level compared to grading the OG BMPCC's prores (meaning this is so smooth and easy). And I don't like adding sharpness (midtone details) or the like. All luma curve, some temp and tint change, and hue.

  10. Would anyone want some fresh of the card ProRes HQ 422's that I shot (while I was a little too drunk) last night? Handheld with speedbooster .71(Nikon) and Sigma 18-35.

These are the settings for all clips:

Disclaimer! I did remove the audio because of privacy (eg I'm wasted and slurring) but I will say that the on board microphones ARE FINE, they are very clear and I'm super surprised by both picture and sound!

John Brawley has a Job, just like a 1000 other shooters that do what he does. Sure he knows his stuff. I would hope so, it's his job. He seems like a damn nice, smart guy. Sareesh is a damn smart guy also, really smart guy. Who is right I don't know. But not everyone on here is some dumb ass like you think they are. But if it is true stay here, you will fit right in. Always room for more dumb asses. Hell you might rise to the head dumb ass. You got my vote already.

I have heard the the XLR adapter is on a slow boat from China. I hope you don't need it tomorrow.

They have it in stock at B&H ran by there after work ;)

  12. WELL, I can confirm that my third party batteries are showing % on the BMPCC. I have Green Extreme and Watson. I am working on holiday commercials incl Black Friday PLUS coloring a documentary that's being shown at SXSW so have ZERO time to play. But if you have any questions/concerns I can answer them all in time.

I also bought the XLR adapter from BMD today so will do some audio tests!

I would venture to say Sareesh probably has a better Grasp of what video is all about more than Anyone on here, and probably the vast majority of people in the world. Is he always right, nobody is, but I will take his opinions as real truth.

And who has a camera longer than 2 weeks that reviews anything other than their own personal camera? That is 336 hours. Surely a person can figure out a most things in that amount of time. It's not like the first camera that BMD has ever made. It's not like the sensor is new either. It's pretty much a dumbed down GH5s with ProRes and their UI and color science. Not that that is a bad thing. Especially for the money.

I think I would rather have a GH5s and the new Atomos Ninja V. But that is more money obliviously. Add a Gimbal , a Speedbooster and not a lot you Can't do with it.

This is cracking me up. What you write, always does. Seen your videos and you're in a league of your own buddy. Love that for you.

I'm not fussed on aesthetics as long as it gets the job done. Have used the Nucleus-M system quite a bit and despite a few initial bugs, it's been great.

I have the Tilta cage for my OG BMPCC and I love it! I was looking at the ronin S for a while but I use manual glass so this combination might be for me!

  15. Anyone have any experience with the brand AngelBird? They're a little cheaper at B&H for the 300Mbs SD's. I'm looking to pick up one tomorrow to use for smaller projects where I don't have to bring the T5. I do care more for quality and Sandisk has never failed for me but again, never heard about AngelBird (it's only 50dollars cheaper so might not be a big deal)

Also, I only have three lenses for this camera, Sigma 18-35, 50-100 and a Samyang 10mm, so the Speed booster Ultra .71 is all I need right? Saw some comments about the .64 or whatever it is, but that's for full frame right? I do have my BMPCC speed booster that I heard people have been using for the 4x crop on super slow mo as well...

The old camera felt more unique. Am I alone in this thinking?

The only DNG I've seen from the new one is from the biking footage. And it reminded me A LOT of the pocket's image. I can't say for sure yet as I've only seen ONE scene from another person's pre production model. But yeah, I don't know how you can be so sure yet when you're basing it on footage mostly seen compressed by youtube and graded by who knows what. We just have to wait and see until more people get their hands on the camera and actually start shooting in all kinds of environments and circumstances.
