I wouldn't say that. I believe that the Isco Animex is a rebranded Iscomorphot 8/2x (confirmed by Alan/Tony Wilson), which is a lens that I happen to like quite a bit: http://vimeo.com/60401188 It is focus-through, like Andy says. But unlike the LA7200 or Century lenses, you have to focus your spherical to one set point, and then control your distance from your subject with diopters. This is a lens that tells you where to set your camera. A bit tricky, but if it's like mine, it can give you a very pleasing image if you are patient with it.

Moller Anamorphot 32/2x on a real world...
QuickHitRecord replied to Francisco Rios's topic in Cameras
Thanks, John. I may do that once I assess the condition of the lens in person. Shouldn't be too long now. -
Moller Anamorphot 32/2x on a real world...

@JohnBarlow You say that you've re-lubed your 32. I think that I might have found one to buy myself and I'm curious, how difficult was it to make this repair? Also, have you been able to access the lens elements relatively easily? -
Taking Lenses - brands, version and mounts?
QuickHitRecord replied to tommykristensen's topic in Cameras
I wouldn't know how to do that. My question is about the Moller 32. I'll ask it over in the Moller thread. Sorry for the hijack! -

@JohnBarlow, I have been trying to PM you with a question, but I'm getting an alert telling me that you are not receiving any messages. Do you have messaging disabled? -
Now Available: Custom Taking Lenses for Anamorphot's
QuickHitRecord replied to richg101's topic in Cameras
I've ordered one of these bad boys in matte black. Serial #05. It feels like joining an elite club. If you've been thinking about getting one, better order it soon before Andrew writes an article! -

I really like this, both stylistically and musically. -
I'd enter a competition like that.

I also took mine to a shoe shop, and was quoted US$300. The search continues.

Great idea. I would like to see this as well. But until we get it... for those who are curious, here are the Nikon D5200 camera tests that I shot this week (H264 files out of the camera): https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9ZhDqZ6DYvfN2c3eHJsMFBhM2s/edit?usp=sharing

Iscorama VS Iscomorphot 8 2x VS Iscomorphot 8 1.5x
QuickHitRecord replied to QuickHitRecord's topic in Cameras
Yes, just tell him which lens you have and he will know which clamp you need. Send him an email or contact him through this site (here, he goes by 'Tony Wilson').- 28 replies

@Ben I don't think that you are going find any step rings small enough. Redstan has a clamp, or you can do what I did (see last page).- 28 replies

Iscorama VS Iscomorphot 8 2x VS Iscomorphot 8 1.5x
QuickHitRecord replied to QuickHitRecord's topic in Cameras
I have one of those too. It forces me to use an even longer lens to avoid vignetting and is only useful for extreme close ups and macro shots. I haven't used it since I bought it.- 28 replies

Iscorama VS Iscomorphot 8 2x VS Iscomorphot 8 1.5x
QuickHitRecord replied to QuickHitRecord's topic in Cameras
I had one of those once: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/741-isco-gottingen-anamorphot-15x-not-to-be-confused-with-iscormorphot-15x That was a focus-through design and very difficult to work with. You have to reposition the camera to focus. The Iscomorphot 8 1.5x is very easy to use (fully rack-focusable and has a minimum focus distance of about 2.5'), as long as you keep your aperture above f/5.6.- 28 replies

http://www.focalpointlens.com/fp_intro.html John does good work. He has polished and recoated lenses for me before. He used to be the official ISCO repair shop in the USA before the company was acquired by Schneider. Expect a turnaround time of six months.

Iscorama VS Iscomorphot 8 2x VS Iscomorphot 8 1.5x
QuickHitRecord replied to QuickHitRecord's topic in Cameras
Yes, mine is quite unusable before f/5.6. But once you put it there, it gives an unbelievable image (in my opinion). And it is rack-focusable (and focuses as close as 0.5m), which makes it the easiest, most user-friendly anamorphic that I have ever owned.- 28 replies

QuickHitRecord replied to QuickHitRecord's topic in Cameras
Here's how I am mounting mine: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/uploads/gallery/album_14/gallery_18451_14_27471.jpg There are probably other ways to do it, but this is what I came up with to prevent the lens from twisting when I am focusing. Hope this helps and I can't wait to see your videos!- 28 replies
