Honestly, I tried IBIS with the R5 and was underwhelmed. I ended up buying a second R5C and the Digital IS along with lens IS is perfect for my needs. But also, has Canon ever put IBIS in any of their C-line cams?

Canon Should try any current Lumix camera for hand held IBIS work. They are very good and there is a good portion of what I shoot now where I don't have to be on a gimbal!

Absolutely. I could not work without a camera with great stability and I mean great, not merely OK.

If it can be achieved digitally, I’m OK with that but yes, Lumix is the best I have seen and experienced.

I have my S9 set up to be ‘gimbal like’ with both mechanical and digital IBIS, but it’s not reliable enough for consistency and next year I am going to pick up (for the 4th time 🙄) a gimbal, except this time it won’t have a camera that needs balancing, ie Pocket 3.

Looks nice, no ND though.
I hope it will have ibis and great battery life.

I really hope they don't ruin it with IBIS. And seeing that they use the LP-E6p, battery life will probably be ok, but not great.

You mean you don't want IBIS? I have a feeling its going to be absent.

That zoom rocker is interesting too. Wonder if that will allow digital zoom a la Sony clear image zoom.

Yes, I would prefer no ibis for a multitude of reasons. The C50 is such a chubby FX3 epigone that it has to outclass it in order to not be torn apart by all the shilltubers. Open gate is more or less confirmed, but what sensor and what read out speed and what dynamic range we will see is still unclear. But nice that they put a CFexpress card inside, the rumors were talking about 2x SD.

Time to revive that 18-135mm usm with power zoom add on.

With that thickness and lots of vent this one wont be overheating at all, Lumix really need to take a cue on it

I think such a compact form factor would benefit greatly from IBIS to eliminate micro jitters on handheld shots, but gimbal shooters probably don’t want it to mitigate wobble effect on wide lenses. Not a deal breaker for me personally but I’d be disappointed if they omit it. Sony shill tubers will have a field day pointing that out as a miss if that’s the case.

That will appeal to a lot of people. Yes, of course, there will be the “not for me” crowd but realistically that looks - absence of specs notwithstanding! - pretty decent for most. I like the number of physical buttons and the way it will presumably slot into a stills/video ecosystem makes it an impressive little beast. I wonder how many will be prepared to switch into the Canon garden of goodies. At least until the rumoured Nikon enters the fray.

Ergonomics look good.  CF Express is nice and a welcome surprise, given that the rumors are for 6K resolution and the C80 which is also 6K only has dual SD card slots.

Aren't the same on C70, for the Canon 0,71 speedbooster?

That was my first thought, but the C80 also has them so there must be more Canon adapters that can be screwed in?  Or maybe this one is high-end APS-C?  I'd be very OK with that.

Looking at those 4 screws...

Aren't the same on C70, for the Canon 0,71 speedbooster? (Hence super 35mm)

Or a RF-PL Mount adapter? (FF)

As I commented above, that is the RF cinema line mount system. Its on C70/C80/C400 so not at all a Super35 exclusive.

It's there to reinforce the mount for heavy cine glass weight and modularity/repair.

What it does indicate to me is that IBIS is highly unlikely. That type of screw down rigidity doesn't have floating sensors in mind. Could be wrong but that's my feeling.
