I imagine people here are going to be wary of buying considering certain recent events on the forum, but you can confirm my authenticity easily as my video company is well established online (just Google "Lintelfilm") and I'm happy to Skype etc if anyone has questions. I'd prefer to sell to UK but am open to offers from elsewhere, and preferably only to regular forum members. Postage not included but will be charged at cost. My name is Matt - I haven't hung out here for a while but older forum members will remember me (probably mainly from my various unnecessary spats with Mr Reid!). Andy Lee can confirm this I'm sure. Also, if I were to scam you, you could easily damage my business reputation online which really would be a serious problem for me and my family! This stuff will probably go on eBay by the end of the week so let me know asap if you're interested. All in good/great condition unless stated. FOR SALE (please DM me for prices): 1: BMPCC with: Viewfactor Cage, Z-Finder, SmallRig top handle, external Sony NF-P battery plate (attached to top handle via my own design in the most elegant battery solution I've seen for the camera!), iRig Pre (modded for BMPCC). Pics below (looks like I didn't attach the battery to the plate properly - that slight angle is is not normal). Lens, Speed Booster and NP-F battery not included (lens & SB for sale separately, see below). 2: BMPCC to Nikon Metabones Speed Booster. It works flawlessly and is in great condition. It arrived brand new with a very small, wafer thin chip on the very side of the glass that is not anywhere near the image circle. I considered returning it but as it functions perfectly it is just cosmetic and seemed pointless. It's not deep enough to be a danger to the glass and it hasn't changed since day 1. This is just for full disclosure. See chip at 2'O-clock on the image below. I'm a working pro not a gear fetishist so although all my stuff is in very good shape, well looked after and cosmetically still very nice, it has been used properly and not handled with kid gloves, so please don't expect "as new" condition - however I'll endeavour to point out anything that may be considered an issue regarding resale value etc. 3: GH4 with "unofficial" V-Log installed (which I don't recommend using anyway, official or not - not even in 10bit with an external recorder. It's a farce and a travesty by Panasonic). 4: MFT-Nikon 0.71x Metabones Speed Booster (works perfectly, glass is fine) 5: SmallRig Cage (fits GH4 and many other DSLR-like cameras) 6: Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 7: Panasonic/Leica 25mm f/1.4 8: Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 Nikon mount 9: Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 DX (V1) Nikon mount 10: Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI (best version of this wonderful manual lens, great condition) 11: Nikkor 85mm f/2.0 AI-s - very slight stiffness at one end of focus action, but not prohibitive to getting focus. Otherwise great condition. 12: Sennheiser MKE400 with Sennheiser furry windshield (small shotgun mic with 3.5mm jack) 13: Tiffen 77mm Vari-ND 14: Hoya 77mm IR cut filter Again, please DM for prices of items you are interested in. Thanks I should say that I'm selling all this stuff because I recently switched to Canon. I'm loathe to sell the BMPCC because I LOVE the image and this is a great, very solid and very functional setup I've built for it that addresses almost all the functionality issues of the camera. But "business before pleasure" as they say and that's why I finally gave in to the Canon call. No one else does cameras you can just pick up and shoot with in any situation and be sure you'll grab solid images.
  3. ...and a Speedbooster! I'm trying to wrap my head around what the mathematical formula must be to gauge how wide/zoomed lenses will be on a GH4 with a Speedbooster. What I know so far: - Shooting 4K, the crop is 2.3 - Shooting 1080, crop is 2.0 - Metabones Speed Booster lessens crop by 0.71 - Generic Speed Boosters lessen crop by 0.72 Is the math: " FF LENS x CROP x BOOSTER ="? or for a 18mm lens: 18mm [Lens] x 2.3 [4K Crop] x 0.72 [Metabones] = A 29.808mm lens equivalent? To make matters more confusing to me, that only covers full frame lenses, so how do we determine the results on lenses for APS-C lenses? That I have NO idea on how the math may work. Thanks so much!
  4. Hello everyone, My name is Gleb, I'm starting a production company to shoot feature films, and commercials / music videos on the way before that. For my camera package for the first 2-3 feature films I'm going to buy GH4 as the camera body (Now have 2xGH3), and after I will have a transition to BMPC 4K and then to RED Scarlet / Epic Now I own a speed booster alternative RJ speed booster (Nikon mount) And was thinking about the idea of buying a full Rokinon cinema lenses set (Nikon mount) Than use it on the RED scarlet before buying better primes, but than I will not be able to have my middle switch from GH4 to BMPC 4k. 1.) So is it better to buy all lenses EF mount and buy the EF speed booster and than EF mount for RED cameras, or buy Nikon to EF adapters for the BMPC 4k? 2.) Another idea was to avoid speed booster and by ROKINON lenses in MFT mount direct, to partially avoid the crop factor, and after 2-3 films sell the full kit and buy PL Primes for BMPC 4k and then move to PL RED? 3.) For our second feature film we are planning to shoot anamorphic x1.5 adapters style, any ideas on working (Anamorphic / Rokinon / Speed Booster / GH4) or avoiding Speed Booster will be better? 4.) Buy one vintage PL zoom lens and a PL adapter for GH4? Any lens suggestions in that case please. Now I have only 2 nikon zoom lenses to use with my speed booster and I can sacrifice that if needed. Is it an updated version? Thanks.
  6. Hi, I´m using a Sigma 18-35 1.8 with a Metabones Speed Booster on my BMPCC. What I noticed is that the left side of the image isn´t perfectly in focus while the right side is spot-on. If I try to get the left side as sharp as possible, the middle of the picture and the right side will be slightly out of focus. Please take a look at the pictures below. Notice how the very left side seems to be quite blurry, while the right side isn´t that bad. The aperture was 2.5. '> '> I´ve tried two Sigma 18-35 and two different Speed Boosters, but the results were exactly the same. Has anyone else noticed similar effects? I would be very happy if someone with a Sigma 18-35 and a SB tried to shoot something outside with the lens wide open and focus set to infinity.
  7. Hello! I recently picked up a GH3 and am wondering what lens setup to purchase. I have done some research and am thinking about these two options. 1. Metabones Speedbooster with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 II (Nikon Mount) as I had the old Sigma 30mm 1.4 on my 550D and loved it! 2. Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 and the SLR Magic 12mm f1.6. Would love to know what you guys think! Thanks :)

  10. This is old news that some may not have figured out. The speed boosters for the APS-C and M43 both use the same magnification of 0.71x despite the difference in crop factor. This means a 35mm lens adapter with speed booster will work out as: 35 * 0.71 = 24.85 For APS-C: 24.85 * 1.5 = 37.275mm For M43: 24.85 * 2 = 49.7mm This essentially means that on Micro Four Thirds, lenses adapted with speed booster end up close to the focal length if you were to just attach the lens to an APS-C camera (because a 35mm lens on APS-C becomes 52.5mm once you calculate the 1.5x crop). Granted you still get the extra aperture stop from the speed booster, but it's still a shame that the focal length isn't closer to actual 35mm full frame. Do you think there will be a company out that will engineer a 0.5x magnification adapter? PS: Will the bokeh circles of a 17.5mm f0.95 be the same size as those on a 35mm f2 lens? PSS: Anyone have any recommendations on small manual lenses in 28mm, 35mm and 50mm focal lengths with apertures wider than f2?

  12. Last week I finished a short film that we shot on the GH3 with the Speed Booster. I thought it's maybe interesting for you guys to hear and see how it holds up in the field. At first I received a faulty Speed Booster, but the 2nd one worked great. It feels solid and well designed, although there is a little 'play' on the camera mount side. Nothing to worry about though. It makes my lenses wider and better. There is some purple fringing though at low light shots when pointing at a light source, but this is only at very large apertures. The lenses are perfectly usable at high apertures in 'normal' situations with the Speed Booster. It didn't hold me back while I was shooting with it, so that's great. I see no increase or decrease in sharpness without pixel peeping. Simply to say, it's ignorable and you can shoot safely :) To answer a previous question. The Speed Booster works great with the Samyang 16mm f2.0. It acts as an 11mm FOV and there is no vignetting! (well I do have some vignetting, but that's because I use a variable ND filter with a smaller filter thread that the one of my lens) I'm a real fan of the Samyang primes. I have the 16mm f2.0 / 35mm f1.4 / 85mm f1.4. They feel and look solid and professional. Image quality is great. Usuable wide open, but really good stopped down 1 - 2 stops. Thanks to the Speed Booster I love my GH3 even more now. With a crop factor of around 1.4x, it's comparible to a S35 sensor. So I now have the 6 most used focal lenghts (with normal adapter / speed booster), an effective s35 sensor when I need it and all the good stuff and quality that I'm used to from the GH3. Maybe you guys are interested in the short film. It's a short comedy film (5 min) and is, with a few exceptions, shot with the Speed Booster.   15. Went out last night and had an amazing time at a place called Bungalow in Santa Monica. Brought my NEX-5n with an old Nikon 50mm f1.4 AIS lens and the Metabones Speed Booster.  It was DARK in that place, but the Speed Booster made me feel invincible.   https://vimeo.com/60971352

Hi, just wanted to start a topic about using 3rd party lenses with the Metabones Speed Booster.  Their website warns about the possibility of some lenses having protruding rear elements that could scratch the adapter or short out the electrical connections.   I don't yet own any EF lenses, so I'm currently using a Rainbow Imaging Nikon to EF adapter.  The lenses I've tried with this are:   - 50mm f/1.8 pancake (all manual)   - 24mm f/2 AIS (all manual)   Camera is a Sony NEX-5n.   After my first day of trials, this combo works fine.  My caveats so far:   - The Nikon adapter tends to stick to the lens, requiring a manual depress of the delicate release lever in order to unscrew it from the lens.  So I'm just buying another Rainbow Imaging adapter and plan on leaving it on the lens all the time.   - The lens focuses a bit past infinity.   Other than that, I'm really enjoying the Speed Booster and see no image degradation.  Will be posting sample videos soon.   Anyone else tried other lenses?
