Depends on the job, and I would advise anyone to think beyond getting a day rate.
The thing about day rates is they aren’t scalable.  They are based on time, and with only so many days you can work in the week, you can’t incline your income steadily. You could charge more, but then, you’re going to have to be a master specialist to achieve that.
If it’s not TV, film or music videos....I advise anyone to not position themselves as a “videographer” or “filmmaker”. Instead you frame yourself as a business solution. Instead of talking about what shots you want to do, you talk about how you will get them a business result.
This differentiates you from the over saturated  “videographer” role  - which in fact a lot of the  industry see as “low cost” and easy to negotiate your price down. You appear as a “problem solver” who can grow their business.
Also, getting the client to think more about the business result allows you more freedom with the creative stuff!

For native lenses probably the older primes the 35mm 1.4, 23mm 1.4, 16mm 1.4 and the 56mm 1.2, for the longer focus throw. The 16-55 2.8 is probably nice too for that.

The newer F2 lenses have faster Auto Focus if you'll be using AF you might want to go with those. The auto focus on the older lenses is also kind of jumpy or steppy/mechanical looking sometimes.
Going into the last settings(marked with a wrench) and switching focus from nonlinear to linear helps a lot to with manual focusing.

If you want to go all out see if you can get ahold of the 18-55 2.8 cine lens.

The bottom line with all small businesses is not so much about how good you are at your actual craft, but how good you are at making your business work.
I know plenty of mostly photographers who are great at their craft, but not so interested/good at the business side. And they wonder why the phone isn’t ringing like it used to...
There is no real ‘industry standard’ because the variables are too great.
It boils down in the end to regular employment with benefits as perhaps the ‘safer’ option, or being self-employed where it is down to you 100%.
I sometimes think I’d like the former option but the reality is I am better off on most levels, though perhaps not financially, ploughing the field myself.

I have never tried a Sony A7anything but find that so many internet reports in regard to Fuji this or that are down to user error such as simply relying on the straight out of box set up and never bothering to fine-tune the set up.
Is the Sony (and Canon) AF better than Fujis? Probably but not by as big a margin now as some older or flawed reports would suggest.
But as I say, not had a Sony to compare to and the XT3 performed really well all last year at over 25 weddings with no issues. No overheating, no AF problems and no anything negative that NON REGULAR USERS/OWNERS tend to state.
And I am not a Fuji 'fan boy' for the sake of being one, just someone for whom they have been producing the best tools for my specific needs in recent times. I could flip to anything else I desired (within financial reason) any time but choose not to for a reason and that reason being actual real world regular use.
    Just sayin' 😝

Well neither of my XT3's overheated last year here in SW France filming 4k where in the shade, it passed 40 degrees celcius several times, so I'm not expecting the XT4 to be any different...

I don’t mind which way they do it but would prefer it in the XH1 body given the choice.

Hopefully X-T4 will be an X-H2 down to the millimetre and even the exact curvature of the nice deep grip.

I don't feel this way. The X-T3 is an awesome camera and many have said, how much they like the camera. If asked what was missing in the last months, no one said 6K or 4K 120fps. It was IBIS and better battery life all the time. The X-T4 seems to deliver just that. If they manage to get the price close to the X-T3 price, that's an outstanding value.

I believe that everyone who used X-T3 and X-H1, all wished for a camera with X-T3's guts in an X-H1 body.
It seems that this is exactly what we get, plus some extras.
Keep the price at 1500$ and I couldn't be any happier. 😉

The best sub $1K hybrid camera for filming is:

    a) if you can live without IBIS, the Fujifilm X-T3 secondhand
    b) if you love IBIS, the Panasonic G9 (it's been on sale for sub $1K brand new) or a secondhand Panasonic GH5

    Good write-up, thanks
I'm on the GH5 and have wanted to buy an 85mm for a long time as there are a couple of them that are glorious, but the focal length is very much a 'only in a few situations' kind of lens, so I can't justify it.  I was looking at the Sigma and also an old Jupiter-9.
Yeah, tough call. Having a zoom is a really flexible option and it's also a backup of every other lens in your kit, so if tragedy strikes then you're not short a focal length.
My favourite lens is a FF equivalent of 35mm f2 and it's great for the environmental portrait where you want to see the person and also the occasion and location.  If my setup was half the size and half the price then I'd be tempted to carry a second setup like you do, and have played with things like that before too.
Two Fuji XT-4s with those primes would be a pretty hard setup to beat, Fujis have a great reputation and the images are just lovely.  It sounds like a pretty good recipe for happy days!

Final choice came down to (and I have been a pro Fuji shooter since the original X100 so have had pretty much every lens...sometimes several times!) the following:
23mm f2 due to size, weight, AF speed.
    50mm f2 as above.
90mm f2 just because I occasionally need something longer for ceremonies, speeches and couple portraits and it’s a beaut of a lens.
16-80mm f4. Grrr, it’s only f4, but this is my ‘bookend’ lens, ie, wide landscape stills at the start of the day and video for dancing end of the day. Otherwise it will be in my bag and I purchased it principally as my travel (non work) lens.
I may however get the 16mm f2.8 for weddings and leave the zoom behind for a true 4 prime set up.
Why no f1.4 or the 56mm f1.2? For video they are terrible. Maybe not static slow paced stuff but try filming a wedding day with the 56! Sublime for stills, pants for video!
I either shoot stills all day or hybrid all day. Very very rarely just video and ‘mobile hybrid’ is my priority.
Most of the day this year will be XT4 right harness with the 50 and left strap, another XT4 with the 23. The choice then comes down to, “is this a medium wide or more tele shot? Or both?”
    Hopefully happy days...

None. Freestanding Sirui monopod...though I have just bought the 16-80 F4 which is OIS 6 stops or something, but yet to have a play with that.
This was my 2019 wedding season video combo.
    2018 it was the monopod + XH1.

I get 1000+ shots out of a single battery stills only shooting raw + Jpeg every wedding. Easily. 1000-1500. And before anyone cries "balls", week in, week out. It mostly depends how you have the thing set up and how you use it...
But the XT3 absolutely chews through batteries for 4k video no question and even with a battery grip, ie, 3 batteries in total, I need to swap out at least the 2 in the grip to get through a typical 9-12 hour day.
However, I prefer the Anker power bank / USB option and have that attached to my monopod and with that system in place, can easily shoot (video) on a single internal battery (ie no grip) 9-12 hour day.
Neither solution is ideal which is why I welcome the XT4 with IBIS and supposedly better battery. The only two things I am really interested in.
