Isn’t DaVinci Resolves superscale feature already amazingly awesome?

So a small update. After having played around with the lens on firmware 1.2 and now after updating to 1.3 I honestly think there has been an AF performance regression with 1.3. I was getting acceptable AF performance at 4K 24p prior to 1.3, now its noticeably non responsive in the same shooting scenario (5 mins apart). When shooting 60p, however, the AF is very snappy and accurate—more so than I remembered. DfD really likes a higher sample rate. On first impression the lens is great, like many have said. I can definitely hear and feel the AF motors compared to some other lenses. The parfocal-ness claims I’ve seen are strange. It doesn’t hold focus when zooming in or out at all. Focus breathing is non-existent however. Hoping to put together a video soon.

Isn’t the OS similar to what’s on the P4K? I was in the market for the Ninja V but the new 5” video assist is clearly the better buy. The video assists also have great third party record triggering support. Hopefully that all carried over.

The start of the RAW war.

The monitors are sweet. Eva1 support for BRAw but now GH5S? Booo.

Those are solid choices. For the budget side, K&F is not bad for $50. I wouldn't recommended the Tiffen at all. Horrible blue cast at all settings. I would get the polar pro's but $300 is hard to swallow, especially when there is finally some innovation in the space. The drop-in filters that sit very close to the sensor are a neat idea. I wish they could somehow make them variable. I just think we are going to see some long term, solid solutions soon.

Just arrived. Going to test it out this evening after work and when I get some free time. First thing I noticed after snapping it on to my GH5S...its so wide that my 82mm Nd filter (with a 77mm to 82mm step-up ring) heavily vignettes at anything below 12mm. Bummer. Also, the 50-200 has better build quality. They really tried to control the weight of this lens. Which, btw, is nicely balanced on my GH5S with cage.

1.33x for €500 is not terrible. The Vazen 1.8x 40mm T2 is more interesting though for MFT users.

Nano-rigs - hand-held camera rigs that do it all and fit in your pocket

My bad. It is! Still a nice setup. -

Hopefully a software issue and not a sensor problem. -

Zcam E2? I feel like this is where the zcam E2 shines. Tight cinema package with robust recording formats and HFR in-a-box. Just wish it had more DR. I like the setup. -
Battery life is a big one. If people can’t pick it up and shoot with it why make it so small? 1 hour battery life wouldn’t be bad. Just would need a small cage with a bit of a grip to hold, a T5 SSD mount, and a lens. Would be a pretty small and sweet setup. Easy to mount on a gimbal etc...

Well we are talking about uncompressed RAW internal. If THAT day comes you can do compressed RAW on UHS-II SD cards at 8:1 or 5:1 compression ratio.

As a person that has a degree in computer science and experience in the industry (now left) good software is developed to share as much code base as possible. So your argument is that Canon tested 29.97 FPS to make sure it works flawlessly in their latest cameras but couldn’t put forth the pitiful amount of effort it would take to test and record 23.97 FPS? Especially when they’ve included 23.97 FPS in the past with the same models? How did canon pull off 24fps in the 6d mark ii and the original M6? It has a lessor processor, the DIGIC 7, in the same form factors. You are saying somehow canon can’t develop and test 24fps with their DIGIC 8 processor, which by the way is built on the same foundational knowledge as it’s successor the DIGIC 7, in the M6 ii ? The same DIGIC 8 processor in the M50 that SOMEHOW included 4k24p recording. You’re just trolling at this point. Please show me or find someone that can confirm your license theory. It doesn’t add up. There has been no evidence for it. Somehow every other camera manufacturer can manage to “afford” 24fps codec licensing terms. Canon can’t? They must really be fucked as a company then if they can’t afford the single frame rate every single person wants in their camera as a base. Its Canon playing shenanigans with brain dead feature segmentation.

The 0:0 aspect ratio with the Mckinnon LUT pack is the clear winner here.

Well, I'll take internal ND over 120p 4k. Composite HDR would be nice, but I could see it having problems in certain situations. So I'd rather have as much natural DR as possible.
-
I''m firmly in the camp of more DR, better ISO performance, built-in ND than more MP or 8K for the GH6. A derivative of the industrial STARVIS sensor above would be good in something like the G9 successor. I mean, the GH5 was doing open gate 5K in 2017. Just give us a global shutter sensor then remove the mechanical shutter and add a built-in ND mechanism. Include better noise performance, their next gen IBIS tech, 14-stops DR, and FULL VLOG and varicam color science to match with the S1H.

Sony seems to be focused (pun intended) on getting their great tracking AF into all the latest models. It would seem to sell cameras more than 8K or 4k60p. It’s the highlight feature in every review.
-
Surprised more people don't use zebras, especially if the camera supports having two settings. I use them almost exclusively.
-
No, Sony is really great at marketing and feeding the YouTube hype machine. They just don’t have something ready yet. Sony likes to push numbers. It’s going to be an 8K camera with 4k60p WITH a crop of some sort. My guess is they don’t want to compromise on form factor. Panasonic just made it work. If they ever figure out their AF I wouldn’t buy any other camera as they get ALOT right in there gear.
