leslie reacted to anonim in Resolve 15 as extremely capable compositor... please samples
This was three days urgent task to imagine story, shot, choose music and compose with other material arround and make birthday gift for one local actress. I had just few her photos and old tv shots from facebook and our or two to shot several additional shots. So, result with wonderful Resolve 15 and by-myself-modified verses of Louis Aragon ... I'd like to see more examples and techniques, so that's maybe separate thread is not redundant?
I'm going to tell you a great secret
You are time
Time is a woman
It needs
To be fawned over and bowed down to
Time like a dress to be undone
Time like endless tresses
Combed
A mirror misted and demisted by breath
You are time asleep at dawn when I rise
You're time like a knife across my gullet
O how I am unable to tell this torment of time unpassing
This torment of time halted like blood in blue vessels
Far worse than desire forever unmet
Than the thirst of the eye when you walk into the room
And my knowing not to break the spell
Far worse than feeling you a stranger
Fleeing
Your mind elsewhere and your heart already in a different century
My God how words are heavy That's what it's all about then
My love beyond pleasure my love out of reach today unattained
You swat at my clock temples
And if you fail to breathe I suffocate
And on my flesh your step waits and comes to rest
I'm going to tell you a great secret Every word
On my lips is stricken with poverty, begging
A trifle for your hands something glowing black below your stare
And this is why I say so often that I love you
For lack of a crystal clear enough of a phrase you'd place around your neck
Don't mind the baseness of my language It is
Plain water making that awful noise in the fire
I'm going to tell you a great secret I don't know how
To speak of the time you seem to be
I don't know how to speak of you I make believe
Like those who remain so long on the platform in the station
Waving their hands after the trains have left
The wrist fading out under the new weight of tears
I'm going to tell you a great secret I fear you
Fear what goes with you to the window in the evening
The gestures you make with unsaid words
I fear time rapid and slow I fear you
I'm going to tell you a great secret Close the doors
It's easier to die than to love
That's why I take such pains to go on living
My love

That is too shortsighted, I'd recommend the eos16k.com domain name instead.

leslie got a reaction from Bold in Seeking Info About the B&H Projection Lens
good thing you replied i had forgotten all about it, only the website notifications reminded me lol, yep it is up just checked it out. personally i think you have too much white space, i think you need to covert that white space into anamorphic images or even cropped pics to approximate anamorphic proportions, sell them a pictorial story, give them some wow, you want to include them and take them on a journey not just what their options are . a realtor once told me when selling houses that your not selling sausages your selling the sizzle, if that any makes sense to you, just my 2 cents ?
when i saw the bham for some odd reason i thought straight away of the flinstones, not sure how that works lol

It's done! Really happy with it especially when compared to the Sankor 16-S I had a couple years ago. It's pretty heavy but not too bad. The RAFCamera clamps are absolutely perfect and excellent quality. The posted shot was literally me running out into the alley and snapping a shot on auto. Thanks for everyone's help on this!

leslie got a reaction from Bold in russian 35 nap projection lens
inspired by bolds thread on the b&h projector lenses i'm making a thread on the russian 35 nap series of lenses. these are big beasties indeed and quite heavy. my two cents worth of opinion is from my ebay searches these seem to be the cheapest anamorphic 2x stretch projector lens option at the moment the caveat being size, weight, make them unpopular choices i think and that front element size would make for a expensive not to mention massive single focus solution probably. however my curiosity knows no bounds except when it come to mains line voltages lol. so with out any further mucking around lets pull this beastie apart. the lens comes apart quite easily. the front cover i guess you would call has one small flat head screw in it then it just unscrews. i guess they didn't have locktite back then as none of the screws seem overly difficult to undo.
the ring with the measurements on it has three small flat head screw which hold it on. once there undone the ring falls off and you can either unscrew the focus ring backwards till it comes off or screw it forward and it will drag the front element with it. i did it backwards first then struggled to get the front element out put the focus ring back on and screwed it forwards till they both fell off the front.
im kinda stuck at this point as i cant find my lens wrench and i think i need it too undo the back element. there is 6 small flat screws positioned around the back element on the housing however undoing them doesn't free the back element. i was hoping that the back element might fall out if i tipped it upside down but no it doesn't. if you saw my desk you'd understand how a lens wrench could go missing ? thats it for the first installment hopefully i will have more to share soon.

i'll like buy one off ebay when i find one for a reasonable amount i seen em at $ 200 -400 but that will most likely be in the new year as i pretty much spent all i can this year lol
speaking of modding, i have an isco gottengen 2x which requires both hands to turn the focus ring got any thoughts on how to loosen it up ?
if it requires stripping it down to the helicoid or taking the anamorphics out i'm not so keen, heard they can be a pill to put back in right ?
thanks for any thoughts
edit: because i am tired and its after midnight here i pulled apart a russian 35 projector nap lens i bought around the same time i got the isco .
it was surprisingly easy one tiny flat headed screw holding the font glass cover on then another three tiny flatheaded screws around the focus ring. then simply unscrew the focus ring backwards. i haven't taken the back lens out yet or the front element out of its holder. i will start a new thread tomorrow with some pics. but thanks for thee inspiration

1) perhaps but i feel you may be being a bit harsh on canon colours, alot of people go on about canon colour and try to emulate it heck half this website is about canon colour in one form or another.
2) when has movie making been accurate ? its all the look and flattery plays a big part if it didn't, ugly people like me would be actors and tom cruise would be waiting on tables some where ?

leslie got a reaction from webrunner5 in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
i should elaborate, i sit, i stand, i lay down, i turn around everything appears pretty smooth to my eyes,i would expect my eyes and other senses to report shaky footage only in the event of an earthquake or stupidly standing in the middle of a boxing ring or crashing a motorbike (no don't ask about the motorbike) i feel it should be the same with video footage, smooth . i hear what your saying about the look and moderation. which ever way you skin this cat, handheld, gymbal, steadicam, crane/jib, whatever method you use, make it smooth it will look more natural to me and will hold my attention longer . isn't this why they put image stabilization on lenses and cameras to help make things smoother. take the hero 7, they are selling hypersmooth there might be a few other improvements but its the hypersmooth their selling.
i dont want to rant, and i confess i'm as guilty as the next bloke when i watch my stuff and think i what the hell was i doing there ?.
conversely for those interested, there could be an emerging market with the younger generation not sure what they feed kids these days however if shaky footage and cutting to a new scene every second and a half is your thing then i reckon you might be a hit with the kids ?.

its kinda old school, it relates back to analog tv and how a picture was built up on the old cathode ray tube. there was progressive scan and interlaced. i'm kinda feeling rather old right about now i think i'll shut up and have a nap

i am not sure that downscale is the correct term technically your putting 30 fps onto a 24fps timeline which results in either 1 second of 30fps footage playing for 1.25 seconds if my math is right which makes the duration slightly longer and probably a barely perceptible slow motion effect , the other option you constrain you footage to the 24fps timeline in which case frames have to be dropped. six frames per second, as 30 into 24 doesn't fit real well. please someone correct me if i'm wrong. downscale to me is more like taking 1080 footage and converting it to 720.
if your determined to shoot at 24 fps just shoot your interviews and the tennis at 24 fps you can the shoot the slow motion stuff at 60 fps and intercut it with your 24fps timeline giving you filmic look with the slow motion of 60fps
computers do a marvelous job of speeding things up and down, you may not notice a few seconds of 30fps slowed to 24 fps but if the footage went for ten minutes i think you might. for me inter cutting 24 fps with 30 fps and 60 fps would get tedious and given enough time i'd screw it up somewhere, either at the interview stage or on the court or in post.
