  1. I can fully agree - both GX80 and G80 seem to be great B-cams or a 'throw-it-in-your-backpack' alternatives, which video creators didn't really notice. IMHO, they could be easily intercut with GHx series and I doubt anyone would notice. I like your results very much, they look quite similar to what GHAlex offers - soft, yet vibrant and natural look. Congrats!
  2. I see he's changed the video title - it said something like "THIS FREE SOFTWARE DESTROYS WARP STABILIZER" at first, hahaha. Personally, I think it's very elegant way to implement image stabilization, much more versatile and customizable than all the EIS systems available in-camera.
  3. Great piece, thanks for sharing! It's a really mesmerizing / hypnotizing trailer, reminds me a lot of 'Baraka' (1992). Something that at first looks like a montage of abstract, unconnected shots depicting us and our behavior, but after watching it in full, you are surprised you didn't grasp the whole idea earlier. What truly makes it shine is sound design and editing - those are top-level and keep the viewer engaged. Congrats!
  4. Same story here: I recently managed to acquire Olympus OM Zuiko 75-150 / 4, which is considered to be parfocal. The issue was I couldn't achieve the so-called parfocality, no matter what adapter I used (OM - EF and then EF - FX was a no-no; using EF - NEX or OM - NEX didn't help, at all). I felt quite disheartened, haha. In the end, I was able to correct the backfocus with my speedbooster (rotating the rear glass element did it), so at least it keeps its focus when I use it with Lens Turbo II. I'll have to take some measurements and try to somehow alter the 'dumb' adapters to match the speedbooster.
  5. I'd easily mistake these frames for stills from a movie about some badass boxer if it weren't for those blue and red things in the background. Perfect blocking - the light wraps around you providing both key and rim light.
  6. In my case, HLG videos shot on Fuji X-T3 also appear as overexposed if I open them with default Windows Video app. Changing it to MPC-HC or mpv and setting proper HDR gammas, fixed it for me. Can't relate to the Premiere issue. My PC is not able to play any 4K files without hiccups, at all. XD Generating optimized media / proxies helps.
  7. Exactly. Why are you picking on him? Posting some Photoshopped pictures of a random, innocent guy without him knowing about it? C'mon, would you like to be bullied like this on, let's say, REDuser.net? Only because you shared some ideas that not all people back up?
  8. And I totally respect him for going on with it. For crossing the YT boundaries, for making something that is not your typical 'safe' kind of video review. I just don't get it, but that's okay - I simply skipped it and went on with my life. I wouldn't even have mentioned it here, if it hadn't been for Tito asking for some confirmation.

@Andrew Reid - one of your favorite YouTubers is back. ( : Beware: this video is 50 minutes long.
  10. +1 I wasn't quite sure, what I'm looking at - is it a short film, is it a review or what? What's more, some funky user interface elements keep popping up. And it lasts over 10 minutes. I'm definitely not a fan of this production, even though I do enjoy some of his videos. Yeah, it gets tiring really quickly.
  11. Nikon Series E lenses are great. Lightweight, compact, but they feel quite robust (it's not like all those cheapo Yongnuo lenses nowadays). Superb optics, nice handling. https://matthewdurrphotography.com/2012/07/20/nikons-series-e-primes-compared/ Right now I own 100/2.8 and I wish I could find some more use for it.
  12. A BTS from David Sandberg (the director of "Shazam" and "Lights Out"). Even he made a short film himself during the quarantine. A lot of great directing tips, but overall I think he has a big tendency to really overcomplicate things. Using Blender and 3D meshes to create shadows?
  13. No need to invest in better gear, it's simply a matter of knowing how to use it properly. That's a great idea. T-shirts may be a bit too dense and thick, that's why you lost so much power. A translucent shower curtain is a way better solution. Not only it's bigger (bigger diffusion → softer source), but also lets through more light. You can get it for a couple of dollars. Another good recommendation. Bouncing LEDs off a big surface greatly improves softness of lighting, but it's crucial to control the spill. Providing some videos, photos or at least a diagram of your lighting setup would help us help you, since right now we can only imagine what you did. I really recommend taking a look at some Behind The Shoots, etc. For example: https://www.instagram.com/p/B7oFetnA_qZ/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BxWHJhVH8SO/ https://www.instagram.com/p/Be2weUMAFkV/ It's nothing groundbreaking, just the things I was talking about - diffusing a LED panel with some shower curtain, placing some white bounce to wrap the light around the subject, putting some flags to kill the spill, and, finally, black curtains on surfaces which could reflect the light. Gear isn't the deciding factor. Owning Aputure 300D wouldn't help you, at all.
  14. That was out of this world, loved it! Excellent work, congrats. 👏 Acting, lighting, art department, dialogues.. Well thought-out and carried out.
  15. Comment moved to an original thread about the short Wild Ranger posted.
  16. What is your editing software? Resolve offers some built-in tools that let you add motion blur to the footage. The results are okay, try it for yourself.
  17. Yes! An update would be awesome. I know there is a saying: give somebody an inch and they'll take a yard, but... Any chance to include some basic microphone selection, while you're at it? (( : Just bare necessities for a filmmaker / videographer - a lavalier (or two) and some hyper cardioid would do just fine, I think.
  18. My thoughts exactly. Every tool has its own place. While it's perfect for his travel videos, using it in a high energy scene (like the one in his short film) is quite pointless. But as you can see, he was made an ambassador of some gimbal company, so I guess he's bound to use it now. Perfect! I hope you have fun creating it. ( :
  19. Here are a couple of quite useful tips on how to improve overall quality of DIY live streams. I wish my professors watched it..
  20. Turns out the original idea wasn't that original, hahaha. How are you doing?
  21. The IMX671AQR (43MP APS-C) looks like a good candidate for a Fuji X-H2.
  22. 1. It's not my most used combo, but the one I like best. X-T3 + Zhongyi Lens Turbo II (which is basically glued to my camera, rarely do I take it off) + Pentax M 50/1.8 (love this little fella, it's the best fifty I've ever had). During the past few years I've had the chance to jump between many systems (Canon DSLRs, Sony E, Panasonic M4/3, Samsung NX, you name it..), every one of them had some quirks. Then I got into Fuji (by chance) and something clicked. Maybe it's the camera, but maybe it's my attitude that changed. I no longer feel the urge to have the latest features, the best gear possible. Having said that, I still like to indulge myself sometimes. ( : 2. Well, I guess you could learn something about me reading between the lines. I'm a medical student, hopefully to be a doctor in 1.5 years time. I'm also more of a research-everything-extensively-before-you-do-anything kind of guy. Making a plan and then sticking to it. Everything should be in its place. To be honest, I think I have some mild case of Asperger's, lol. 3. Favorite music - you name it. I listen to classical music, movie soundtracks, rock, electronica, chiptune. Almost everything, apart from rap, jazz and blues. I don't support any team, don't follow any sport, though I really like backpacking and cycling. Besides that, I also cut stencils and spray paint them. Street-art was one of the things that got me into all the camera-related stuff, actually. 4. Some more challenges! Anything to make us creative. Sharing our thoughts about the craft / process would be great, too. BTS stuff, etc. Cameras are great, but they don't have the power to change anything you're trying to capture, the things you have in front of you. Maybe some DIY talks? 5. It's a difficult question for me, since I'm not really outside of Poland that often, maybe twice a year. And when I am, I rather try get to know and enjoy different cultures as much as I can. About my home town: all the people I used to hang out with and my family. 6. I guess it was 2018.
  23. I always thought this kind of machines only exist in cartoons. Well, after all these years, I'm glad to see I was wrong. My inner kid got really excited.
