After using the Ninja V on a concert shoot this weekend, I'm feeling the pain of the micro HDMI connection. I had used the monitor a day or two before for a corporate shoot at an acupuncturist's office, and didn't have any problems with it locked down on sticks or with a bit of handheld to get b-roll.

The first evening of a two-day concert event I got booked for, the mini HDMI end of the cable came out multiple times and the metal male insert ended up bending. I think a big part of the problem the 90 degree bend in the Atomos cable. It bends in such a way that it exerts pressure on the connection and basically "wants" to break it. And is so thick that the recommended SmallRig cable clamp for my cage doesn't fit it. I can't find a clamp that will work.

Luckily, I didn't pay for the damn cable, I found a package deal from Adorama on Amazon that bundled the cable with the monitor for the normal price. I'm definitely going to ask Adorama to warranty the cable. Can anyone recommend a legit to mini HDMI cable with a straight emd that will record 4k 60 and isn't 10 feet long?

I am using 8sinn cage after Smallrig. More expensive, but way better clamp for mini HDMI. I also use the 8sinn cable.

It's been discussed a few times before.

The HLG flag in ProRes file automatically triggers Premiere Pro CC to apply an HDR to SDR conversion.

If I google, than I find more about this. also here at this forum. Never had problems before ... I think. Solution is not there at this moment as far as I 'google'. Unfortunatelly.

  3. First time I see this. hopefully here others are also using X-T3 and Ninja V and can tell me what I am doing wrong! Filmed with my Fuji X-T3 a ditch and prutrace last weekend, files in HLG on both SD card and Ninja V SSD. Viewing with potplayer, same quality. But... puttig it on timeline in Adobe without any grading, the Ninja file gets overexposed. Is this normal? Or is this an Atomos issue? Settings? I also don't understand there is no firmware upgrade for Ninja V. Any advise?

Did you have a chance to compare the quality of internal files to ProRes coming from the Ninja V? I wonder if there is any noticeable difference.

With my filming qualities I don't believe there is a lot difference. But Ninja V files are definatelly faster to edit.

    It’s an anamorphic mode.

And due to a 3x3 colour aware binning, it’s completely free of moire/aliasing, also with drastically increased sensitivity. Kinda similar to those 48mp > 12mp smartphone sensors but much much more advanced.

Finally also Fuji in Anamorphic mode. I am using mostly anamorphic lenses on my X-T3. Any idea if this will be in APS-c as well?

There will be a new firmware announcement around the same time as a new product announcement.

It's a bit quit at Fuji. Now that Sony and Pana have some news, it's waiting for Fuji. Do you know when there will be an announcement?

Wow that is a very special place where you live. And it looks like you have your NX1 all figured out. Really nice video.

Thanks! where I live in The Netherlands it's all flat. We like mountains and especially this place in Austria. NX1 is a great machine, but I sold it last winter to upgrade to Fuji X-T3.
