    Hello,

    I have this exact Voigtlander 40mm Ultron, and have used it with anamorphic adapters. First, the lens is amazing by itself. One of my favorites.

    With anamorphics, in my experience, I haven't found it vignette free, if you're shooting on a full frame sensor. Anything smaller and you have a bit more flexibility but I've used SLR Magic Anamorphot and Kowa adapters and they both showed obvious corner darkness.

    Thank you! Then I am interested what other lens are you using. I am looking for a high quality 35-40mm lens.

    I know that feel, sold my Moller 19/1.5x and now I miss it so much, it was one of the greatest anamorphics I had in my collection. Now I'm really tempted to get a 32/1.5x.

    If... you focussed well, the quality is impressive! Good luck with searching!

  3. My first 'experiment' with the Samsung and Bolex. I find it razor sharp but what a job to focus...The pancake lens is superb, but very thin. I have to practise to find the focus rings faster. Perhaps I will try an NX 45mm f1.8 lens. Question; how can you ad warp stabilizer? I do get failure, I do have to 'nest' warp stabilizer?

  4. I recently bought for a nice price ($ 600,-) a Bolex 16/32/1.5x lens. I have a Samsung NX1 and I am thinking of a Nikon 50mm 1.8mm pancake lens for a setup (advises from this from this forum).  I wonder how the experiences are with;

    - zoom lens with fixed lenght, appr. 35-80mm (as Pentax-A 35-70mm f4 SMC Zoom). Is that recommended, or not?

    - Vizelex ND Throttle Lens Mount Adapter, same question, how about the quality of the ND?

    I have the Samsung 16-50PZ and 16-50S lenses at this moment and a Hoya variable ND filter.

    any other suggestions?

  5. Thank you all for your advices and time you spend writing the worthful information. I had some bad luck, bought a Kowa 8z at Ebay, but the seller gave me back my money and till now no communication. Another guy offered me a Kowa B&H lens but agreed with another buyer for an higher price. So... looking the next weeks for a nice anamorphic (hopefully 1.5x) and a nice taking lens. Of course I will keep you informed. I hope next year I can make better films at our holiday address. For now you can take a look;

    An example of the Kowa for Bell & Howell on the nx1 (talking lens Konica-Hexanon 40mm f/1.8) :

     Thanks all fort the advises! I think I will go for the Kowa Prominar 8z / 16h. But question tot Christrad, if you film slowmo in NX1, it is HD quality at 1080. When you crop to 1:2.35, you will drop your quality seriously.... How bad is that?

    And to all, I do not hear any advise for a Iscorama 1.5?

    The Kowa BH is overpriced and in terms of sharpness, the prominars are better. Sankor is a great alternative as well.

    I personally like the look of the 1.5x anamorphics. I own a 2x ana lens, but I'll pick a 1.33x & a 1.5x as well, get the right lens for the right job.

    Thank you. I think I saw a Bolex on your website. I like that one, but its very rare and expensive... Is it easy to work with that lens?

  8. Do I need the Kowa for Bell & Howell or is the Kowa Prominar 8z exactly the same? The Prominar is much cheaper. I cannot find on Internet that both lenses are the same. Is there difference between them?

  9. Hi, I am a newbe here, filming is for me just a hobby. Now I am looking for a nice Anamorphic lens. Perhaps there is a NX1 user that can recommend a set-up. I would go to 1:2.66 of 1:2.35. So I think about a 1.5x lens. They are very rare, but perhaps at the forum someone who can help me, or someone who can do me an offer.
