So were the hell is GH6? We dont have even any basic rumor. What takes them so long? Is it due to the new sensor delay or their FF lineup? Come on Panasonic, now is the time. Sony is lagging behind with their elusive A7S3 and nobody else has anything with 10 bit 4k60 and IBIS. Bring it on already!

You're invited to watch the film (or trailer) my wife and I put together with a GH5 and G85.  95% of the shots were with Voights shooting f.095.  It's a look.  I also just re-bought a used 5dMII for less than $400.  Full Frame and fast lenses for interviews is nice.  Point is, if you want to play, play.  Things are cheap. Have fun.

Just purchased an SLR Magic hyperprime 25mm T0.95 and 10mm T2.1!
Next purchase (maybe today) will be the Z-Cam E2. I have been wanting an internal ProRes cam for a while, and the 10 bit 4K 120 h265 looks great too. With the SLR Magics I should be able to fake a full frame look. Can't wait to test it all out - I'll post results.

Hate to spoil the $6000 Canon fanclub party, but I took delivery of the Sigma Fp today and glad to say the full frame 4K CDNG is incredible. Looks nothing like 8bit RAW... More like having 14bit Magic Lantern with huge dynamic range. Whatever they have done with colour science on this camera it is very clever.
Remains to be calculated how large the file sizes are in 4K 8bit RAW mode internally. Massive I expect!
Going to try the 12bit next via USB C to my Samsung T5.
But the internal MOV ALL-I 4K is also very nice.
Bitrate is a very high 400Mbit in this mode.
    It's a beast.

He did another video blind-testing is you could tell which camera was which and I worked out about half-way to look at the sharpening as that's what gave it away, but yeah, a couple of the shots weren't too bad.
Then again, I'm shooting a GH5 with a F0.95 lens because of the low-light I regularly shoot in, and I'm upgrading my 8mm F4 to a 7.5mm F2 for better low-light for the same reason, so I'm hardly going to be an average user in that department.  Gotta get those wide-angle blue hour shots...

Or after the sun has completely gone....

Before I used Smallhd focus 5 monitor on Ronin S which was mounted on magic arm and was holding on a clamp at the bottom front of the Ronin handle:
    https://ebay.to/2OYO9Dx
Now I use Smallhd focus 7 monitor with this mounting to Ronin S:
    https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-universal-wooden-side-handle-for-ronins-zhiyun-crane-series-handheld-gimbal-2222.html
    with
    https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-magic-arm-with-double-ballheads-arri-locating-pins-and-1-4-screw-2115.html
And I think it's the best combo, the monitor feels so secure and you can change the position so easily. You could also mount some other things to the side handle.

The possition of the monitor is better on the last picture because the HDMI cable is not in the way. You can do the same with Smallhd focus 5 inch.

It’s not a secret I like my MFT gear.
I go for a balance of flexibility, coverage and weight.
PL 10-25mm f/1.7 serves as my wide to portrait lens and as my set of primes. Fast aperture. Great lowlight. It’s on my camera 75% of the time. It also serves as my astro lens. FF equiv. of a 20-50mm.
PL 50-200 f/2.8-4 a great telephoto that balances focal range, aperture, and size nicely. Will be getting a 2x teleconverter to extend range. FF equiv. 100-400mm. With a 2x teleconverter a 200-800mm.
Those are my go to lenses the vast majority of the time. They are the two lenses I grab when I know I might want to shoot but don’t know exactly what. Packs nicely in even a small bag and with a teleconverter in my bag as well I can carry two lenses and have 20mm  to 800mm coverage with two lens! With only a slight gap in the middle around 85mm.
I did own the venerable 12-35f/2.8 but sold it as it has been replaced by the 10-25. I sold my PL 12mm f/1.4 as it also just was never on my camera after the 10-25.
Will be building out a vintage kit later that prioritizes character and feel.

Goes for bodies like the G9/GH5/GH5S (or A7III, etc), but most notably the H-X1025 , yes the all new PANASONIC Leica DG Vario Summilux 10-25mm f1.7 for €1999 €1799! Funny enough another store has it up for sale for the same (maybe pricematching). Not sure if your local stores have/do the same?
Was already upset about the pricing...
Before that €1799 was actually the number running through my mind... April 24th when it was rumored to come in at $2.5k...
And now it is exactly that. Dang it. The law of attraction making me put my money where my mouth's at.
--- well, I had to just run my darn mouth, didn't I. They've made the lens unavailable now. Typical.
----- well, maybe Saturn still grants it... -10% comes down to the same thing

DZOfilm has announced two new MFT Cine lenses: 10-24mm and 20-70mm T2.9
http://en.dzofilm.com/ - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Cndtgz0OGPG_A1mfNuPpA/videos Interesting for sure. Guess after Veydra MFT cinelenses aren't quite dead yet!
-- Awh yeah, I thought DZO sounded familiar, they kinda showed it as a prototype during NAB earlier saying 'around $1700' (might go check em out on last day of IBC)
-- Speaking of lenses. Picked up the illusive Leica 10-25mm constant f/1.7 today for €1794,10 (bit of a deal, fresh on the market, normal/current retail: €1999), curious to try it out! Here's a good vid on that one:

True. I love MFT and if they had a EVA-1 style video camera, I probably would be using MFT fully, especially once the 10-25mm f1.7 lands. But, without really knowing what's ahead for MFT and Panasonic, hard to justify buying what will probably be a $2k+ lens.

The tragic part is that the lens doesn't look as good when you compare it to medium format, and for 4300$ you can buy medium format.
This is a mamiya 80 1.9 (200$ lens) on a 1500$ Phase one Df with a P45+ back (48x36mm sensor). The bokeh isn't swirley in the corners, equivalent 50mm 1.3,and this lens covers 6x7 (andrewwww put this on your gfx with a speedbooster)

I was messing with some old, test shots from my film. This one was shot with the older non-ai version of the Nikkor 28mm f/2. I’m still deciding on a monitor, so this was graded with my non-calibrated MacBook Air...
I’m slowly narrowing down my lens sets... finally.

That would be cool. Is there a workaround for now to get a general feel of what it would look like (with the current GH5 version? Basically I'm not sure how to go about turning Blackmagic Film into Vlog). I'm sure the P4K is a better video camera than the Fujis, but I also do stills and if I can get 90% to the P4K without having to have 2 sets of lenses/UIs/batteries/etc. I definitely wouldn't mind.
Couple screenshots as well (from Prores Proxy files nonetheless). Color and contrast is off from what I'm seeing in resolve idk why (they are slightly more contrasty, more saturated, a little warmer IRL).

If you are looking for a really terrible value for money, slow but actually decently performing standard zoom for an APS-C L mount camera (and frankly who isn't?) then here are some samples from my Leica 18-55mm f3.5-f5.6 from a few days ago.
Its not going to rock your world but it acquits itself well for travel stuff like grey train stations and goats operating a self service buffet.

That's really interesting. I remember loving the look of the Revenant (not my favorite movie, but I loved the cinematography), but feeling that a lot of subsequent Alexa 65 shows were a little more clinical and boring. Bandersnatch I thought looked good, but might as well have been Red or something.
There's a rumor that Arri uses a diffusion filter over their OLPF. It's not true. But if you look at this footage carefully (download it):
You can see the C200 has more fine detail and the Arri has more sharpening (unsharp mask) and a "smoother look." (The Arri also has a much nicer noise texture, superior linearity in color over exposure, and 1.5 stops more highlight detail, which this comparison masks.) I'm trying out Tiffen's Digital Diffusion FX 1/2 filter to try to get a similar softening effect, but it's incredibly subtle. Obviously, that smooth/soft effect and the Alexa's "film like" noise texture would be reduced with the larger sensor.
So I think the S35 sensor for whatever reason has this smooth look that the LF and A65 lack. They feel more clinical and more textureless. But I've only worked with the OG S35 and watched footage from the others. Granted, the others still look great and are perfect for as a Venice competitor (or for Netflix), but it's really interesting to read that Deakins prefers the S35. I do agree there's a lot more great cinema glass for S35, even if it's mostly very expensive, and that sensor has an organic "feel."
But the opposite is sort of true on the affordable end of the spectrum: there's a real dearth of affordable fast wide glass for S35 and tons of it for FF.
The only good options I can think of for S35 at consumer price points are the Sigma 18-35mm for a modern look, or for a vintage look the Olympus 21mm f2. I think there's a Rokinon 16mm f2, too. I found an Olympus 55mm thread wide angle adapter on a swap table... maybe it's a sign that I should get the 21mm and use the adapter on it. 14.7mm f2. :/ And that would look VERY "vintage." I almost see FF making more sense for consumer cameras than for pro cameras due to lens availability. Nikon's 24mm f2 AI is a weird looking lens–I personally love it. But it's neither that fast nor that wide. (Nor that sharp wide open.) On full frame, however, it feels like a decently sharp 16mm f1.2 that's full of character... Canon's new 20mm t1.5 cine lens would be pretty great on FF and is relatively affordable, too.
