@Stathman ... you're right... it is. Hmm. Anyway thanks.

I tried to reproduce the issue with no success.
The image i see in FCPX is identical with the one i see in Safari.
But i did realise this. The uploaded image is completely different when it is small. it's like you described it. Darker with more contrast maybe? When you click on it, it's ok.
    Don't know why though...

Thanks! Between this and the MLVApp, it’s almost impossible for even me to mess up this footage... lol.
I recently processed this through the MLVApp as LogC. Even though it’s in B&W, I used a LogC to Rec709 LUT and an S-Curve before desaturating it.... I love my Nikkor 35mm 1.4...

    Yes, it's amazing!
You should just change the naming scheme to Davinci Resolve.
Everything else, leave it as is.

A Fuji "A6500" basically, but in a bigger body.
However it does have Fuji's colour science and ergonomics.
And the A6500 was already pretty cool.
Then there are the lenses - they're better as well.
I think it's not to be sniffed at... But it falls short of the GH5 and GH5S in terms of overall feature-set and codec. Should have had 10bit.

Though you can do that (Deadcode wrote), it's not recommended. FCPX is not good with clips that are isolated from their card-structure bundle. Through the import dialog, FCP will copy selections from the card by wrapping them in a Quicktime container. That's the way it works. But keep in mind:
    1. because of the skimmer, you can browse the card very quickly, find your shots and import only selections - in case you think you need to save disk space.
    2. you can alternatively just import everything and do the qualifying and organization later on (you did it in the Finder? - waste of time). Forces you to copy from the card. Into the Library or to an external folder. Links to clips without copies ("leave files in place", the Premiere way) is possible (by copying only the MTS files to disk or by drag&drop), but you shouldn't do that!
    3. either way you can start editing while the clips are still being imported = in effect that's editing directly from card.
The concept of the primary storyline. In this (e, w, d, ctrl+shift+y) you create the spine of your narration. If you have text (off comments or an interview), you put that to the primary and all illustrating clips are then connected (q). For a music video, you'd first select the music track and hit q. From there on, you connect everything to the black slug. Connected clips can move freely (no need to use p). The magnetic timeline is locked. To lock a connected clip in it's position relative to the music, just overwrite it to the primary storyline by hitting cmd+alt+down.
The following 10.3 show is staged of course. But it's done by a master. You think FCPX is inferior to Premiere? Watch it from beginning to end, particularly what he does in the timeline, and imagine what ordeal this had been in a track-based timeline:

Yes, that was my feelings exactly after trying out a 70D.
Although it can't do 1080p (almost) the color depth and the flexibility of raw is magical.
I would choose it over super crisp cheap 4k without a doubt.

    Thank you kindly, @Stathman!
No, didn't use any filters. I find that moire generally appears in brickwork, patterned/striped material and metal edges. Shallower depth of usually helps with these kind of issues

Shot this promo back in August on a 5D3.

    Using a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 and a Canon 70-200 f/2.8

It was professionally graded in Baselight Studio, the colorist was very surprised when he found out what it was shot on.

Let me know what you think or shoot a question!

Sorry for starting up another GH5 thread but figured this could focus on test footage/your first go with the camera. Here's mine - got it today, had 10mins of light left after work so took the kids to the park.
A mix of 4K 50p and 180fps VFR, daylight WB, iso 200, Sigma 50mm on Speedbooster XL, Natural profile. Shot mainly wide open. No ND filter so controlled exposure with high shutter speed.
PRO's so far: Options galore, amazing build, EVF/LCD= amazing. Picture looks GOOD! IBIS = incredible!
CON's so far: Annoying sensor that flicks from EVF to LCD (can this be turned off?). Biggest con for me is not being able to flick to 180fps quickly. Had to dig into the menu every time. Really hope this can be assigned to a Function button but doesn't look like it so far. Grrr.
I'm a GH4 and A7Sii user so looking forward to comparing. Be hard to beat a7sii but this beast might just do it!

Glad this was of help to you. Once I got it straight I thought I'd provide something other than what has been rudely thrown at me here and on FB: "Did you read the manual?" "Just shoot green?"--no explanation beyond that; "Do you have google on your computer? If so, use it."
I ask myself, "Why the Hell do we have sites like EOSHD?"
I always thought it was to share information and save time and to provide clearer, less convoluted information than we get from these TERRIBLE web sites and user's manuals.
But apparently I was wrong. Go figure!
Apparently, by the words and actions of some I get the sense they believe it is for them to be rude and snooty and to try to make people feel inferior and inept---that is, as long it is not they who are trying to get good and pertinent information.
Anyway, I thought I'd take advantage of my 35 years of communicating and teaching to actually lay out the needed information in a clear, orderly fashion. Because that's what I thought EOSHD was about--for all of us to courteously help each other.
