What impact did closing the video rental shops have on movies? 20 years ago I would rent about 5 movies a week. Suddenly all video rental businesses closed up shop because TV line companies were offering renting out movies over digital TV boxes. (Since then only rented about 5 movies in 20 years, it really took out the experience for me)

Def could live without all those movies, but the shit netflix is producing is even worse. I def see value in the fact that cinema plays movies at a certain time. There is no pauze, everybody needs to be quiet, so the movie has your full attention. While at home there are thousand distractions (please pauze I need to go to the bathroom or I need a snack, oh I forgot to start the dishwasser, smartphones, kids, friends/wife/kids start talking when bored, or commenting and the list continues)

So finally received the sigma mc 21, so I took the s5 out of the box. I set up shutter angle, everything in V-log. mov c4K 25fps to C1, mov C4K 50fps to C2. - About V-log: do you guys all shoot in V-log, are do you create a custom profile with contrast and noise reduction down? Looks like I get quite a bit of grain in V-log (coming from blackmagic film log) - I left stabilization on default with IS boost on a fn button to toggle between those if needed. On screen it isnt that clear to me what mode is on the body sign is default I guess and the same symbol without "body" is the IS boost I guess. - But I noticed you can only access the high speed stuff on the S&Q dial. I see the options are very limited mp4 1080p 8bit. But does quality go down the higher the framerate? What is the max setting you would use? Looks like 150fps is the fastest full frame option. So I guess I stick with that. - Did not test any of the AF functions that much yet, but what settings work best? - I often shoot manual lenses, but double tapping the screen is a bit annoying for getting the magnifier glass for checking focus, is there a other option where it turns on with a fn button or while focussing? Are the panasonic s5 h265 422 files similar to those of the canon r6/r5?

I might have missed it, but he did not state what codec these video files were right? If it was prores or RAW or any other decent codec it doesnt really matter, I can edit fluently 4K with playback on all my hardware. But what about H265 422 files is the ryzen still faster?

I dont think so, but only panasonic knows. But I guess they already would have contacted you in that case. They told me they are shipping lenses over 2 weeks.

Actually I am getting one. Not because of low stock, but because of delivery problem and now the deal with sigma has passed, and they cannot deliver any sigma's anymore. But as I could not help it, panasonic stepped up and is sending me a pan 85mm 1.8 instead of the sigma 45mm. 85mm is not a focal length that I use much, and 45mm was more up my alley. But the sigma 45mm did not look that appealing to me, so I am glad I am getting the 85mm just because I want to test the AF(as the sigma was manual). Too bad it does not have IS though, but hopefully the ibis will sort that out.

Whats an MV shoot? What did you like about it more then the S5? The AF? (I got an S5, but the R5 is so expensive)

Hello, Has anybody compared AF with EF lenses on the A7S III and the S5? Which one is the best? And how good is it? As I have no intention in buying E mount lenses or L lenses. Thanks,

They could have gone way beyond a7s iii specs. Pro codecs(prores,...) + even some sort of internal raw + Anamorphic mode.

Well they had a lot of oppurtunities to destroy canon, sony and panasonic but for some reason they did not bother with decent video specs. So they kinda had it coming.

Looks like a higher framerate. 30fps. The motion looks off. But def interested in figuring out why it looks so bad. It doesnt look natural it looks like theatre lighting, some shots have good contrast ratio but still looks cheap. The lenses are prolly too sharp. Some bad framing as well, and digital fx from the 80's.

Still would rather pay more then use mac os.

Did anyone commpare the effects on the forza and aputure lights? Is one better then the other?

Well actually no, the COB size is different. but if somehow somebody managed to do so, I am very interested in how. Yes but the CLAR lights are adorama only, which kinda sucks if you live in Europe (shipping + taxes). I thought they fixed that in the end of 2019? Or is it still a problem? As I saw a video of a guy saying the aputure was actually louder then the forza's.

So aputure finally released the aputure 600D. https://www.aputure.com/products/ls-600d-pro/ ==>1890$ (I wonder how much the € price will be. ) So im still debating if I should get the 600D or the nanlite forza 500. The 600D is about 10K lux brighter with the reflector @ 1m + can also mount the aputure spotlight. The forza 500 is 5600 kelvin and is a lot cheaper 1500$ (so I could use the money to buy diffusion, filters but sadly no aputure spotlight).

First one looks like a early 20's shopping tv commercial. The second one looks a lot better, allthough it does still have this cheap feel to it.

Does this also apply for h265 422 files?
