I did not feel that big of a difference in AF with canon or native panny lenses for photography, which is why I will keep my EF lenses and sell my panny 85mm 1.8 as I can use my EF lenses on a bunch of other cameras(canon, red, panasonic,...) which I cannot say with the L lenses(allthough they are very little which is nice).

I guess the sl2s is their answer allthough it might feature other problems.

Hope AMD will get there fast too, dont want to switch back to intel as I would have to change my mobo.

Exactly, now kids these days are all on about 60fps footage, but it looks shitty in my eyes at least (for gaming I can understand, or slow motion). Maybe I am getting too old.

Not a fan of mac. So I will have to wait on a PC alternative. A lot can happen in a year, and I dont have any jobs right now anyhow.

All the hate on the R5 and R6, but dang this footage looks better then any other camera in the same price category. I will be over these camera's when the footage can be edited smoothly on my machine, the DR is somewhat improved with CLOG2 and the overheating problem gets fixed with a firmware update (and also a pricedrop, as they are kinda overpriced atm in europe).

Good news that the medium format prices are dropping, allthough the dynamic range doesnt look that great on the demo footage(could be extreme situations though).

This video looks great to me, I dont see any image problems. (the other videos from the sony dont look as good)

Not for me, but all tech trickles down eventually so good for us all. Dont care about 8k though.

All these shots are kinda in motion(so might be jitter corrected by the camera). Maybe do some 24fps tripod shots and see how the motion of the object is flowing?

Yeah A lot of folks I know bought some laptop/desktops for gaming again during lockdown. But I know one couple that dont own any pc or laptop, they only use iphone which is mindboggling to me how you do everything on your phone. Searching for stuff on my desktop is way more efficiënt then scrolling through my smartphone.

Hope this is true. Then I only have to wait on a amd processor that can smoothly edit this footage and then I might get one + the price will already have dropped (or at least used).

Yeah recently sold all my camera's except the S5. (as I did not shoot anything over a year now, in fear of the value of the camera's dropping, while actually it hasnt so far lol)

Well even the exact same cameras can have different wb. Had to correct a lot of ursa mini footage on set before or get them as close as possible.

A bm komodo would be great. Allthough would be great if they could design it to keep everything small and compact but good quality. Good battery life, good lcd screen. ( the ump lcd screen sucks, the fpn as well, and vlocks are kinda huge and weigh a lot). Something you can just place in your backback without disconnecting cables and batteries. I realised I left my ump and pocket cameras in the hotel room because it was a drag, so took a friggin canon 6d out on the streets because it was way less hassle.

AMD announced they are working on it. So I guess we will have a cheaper and better alternative in the end of 2021.

I will wait on a amd ryzen equivalent or improvement.

Yes that is true but it does look like that video has that extra tiny bit of mojo though that most other cameras cant provide. If you check comparison videos blindly, you can always pick the alexa out as nicest image. Shooting with an alexa is a bit of a nightmare if you are a solo shooter that used dslrs or smaller cinema cameras though.

I am not sure if you can see the difference between the S5 and S1H in most situations, in some situations like cross patterns or bricks sure the olpf will come out as the winner. But is it worth 2 times the price, I think for 90% of the folks on here it is not. When I said I have not seen any great footage with the s1 line, I was also talking about the S1H.

Last time I checked youtube did not like film grain thoug, it made it all mushy or blocky. On vimeo it was 1000 times better. But havent uploaded any grain footage to youtube since a year or 2 so maybe they fixed it.
