JurijTurnsek got a reaction from MattH in Sony Will Announce the A6500
Most of you here make your living with this tech, so for you it is only a tool. You buy a new one, when you current one does cut it for the job. AFAIK none of you even bought or kept the A6300, so why the outrage? Frequent releases are always better. The best strategy would be to simply release new models each year around the same time like smartphone flagships, so you would know when to hold off the purchase before new tech is announced.

Didn't this guy claim that the A6300 does not overheat the second day of its release? Grain of salt needed.

RX10III is not a direct successor, but rather an alternative with the longer reach. What Sony should do is make a 12mpx 1" 24-200m f2.8 RX10IV and focus on the fiddly controls etc.

Remains to be seem if the FF 4K mode has been improved from. a7RII. Unfortunately, Sony missed the chance for releasing an "a9" model which would be the a99II with E-mount and no mirror (give a complimentary adapter for A-mount users).

These things make me laugh. He's a PR rep, not a technician, or a camera man. He get's his job by being good in front of a camera, friendly and personable - not tech knowledge. That's no excuse, he should know what he's talking about, but this is why he clearly doesn't.

Bluetooth earphones and wireless charging have both been available for some years now. Go for it, Apple does not exist in a vacuum. Have fun charging you earphones, though.
The only sensible thing would be to make wireless earphones that can charge and work with a supplied cable when the battery runs out. Cables are only really obtrusive only a fraction of the time (like for exercise).

JurijTurnsek got a reaction from The Chris in Sigma re-housed their stills lenses into cine bodies
There is not a lot of initiative for developing dedicated FF short-flange distance lenses (with AF), since they only make sense on FF E-mount bodies. APS-C short-flange lens designs can be used on a few more mounts and can make sense even on m43. If Canikon ever joins the FF short-flange party, then Sigma will follow.

Most current smartphone sensors are currently capable of supporting 4k60p.  The limiting factors has been the processing capabilities to create 4k60p content without overheating.  Android phones will only be able to support it once the latest Snapdragon processor can do it without overheating.

Where does this crop leave future APS-C models? No 4K at APS-C crop for 4 more years? Also, poor future 6D markII, he never stood a chance it seems.
One glimmer of hope though: dual pixel AF was introduced with 70D, so maybe a proper 4K implementation will be too :D

Seems like Canon vs Sony debate for the next few years will be: with Canon, the battery lasts me all day, just don't ask me about memory cards and vice versa for Sony.

Canon 5D IV specs are now out in detail and pretty reliable. MJPEG still, no word on crop. Maybe that will be the big thing about 5D - that it won't crop when shooting 4K:

A lot of unreliable chatter about a hybrid OVF/EVF. Prism hump seems a big bigger than previous generations, but it could contain anything at this point.

JurijTurnsek reacted to Shield3 in Panasonic 12mm f1.4 announced
Wait, what?  A 12mm F/1.4 with a sensor with a crop factor of 2 is the same as a 24mm 2.8 on a full frame.  Period.  You can't multiply the "effective 35mm focal length" without multiplying by the crop factor.  It *is* just that simple.  While lenses have different looks, the basic principles remain true - 2x 12mm @ 1.4 = 1x 24mm @ 2.8.  How is it "not right to go around multiplying apertures by crop factor?  Just because this is your forum doesn't mean you can suddenly change the laws of physics.  The hole *isn't* as big as the micro four thirds lens doesn't have a 24x36 sensor to cover!  The light INTENSITY is the same, but the light GATHERING is not.  Big difference here.
Next time it rains, put a small bucket outside next to one 2x the size.  Which one gathers more rain?  Oh, right.  The larger one.
This should help you out Andrew.

T stop can vary across zoom range even if F stop is constant. The camera probably has this information and it could be the case that it tries to compensate for the difference in brightness but with a small delay.
