    Never!
Because this is one of biggest differences between Prosumer and Professional cameras.
Professional cameras usually don't show any evidence of this kind of mess a GH5 e.g. produces. The 6K anamorphic mode is the closest to something like RED footage we can get.
But I still would love to see an option to disable all of it, so I have less work in Post to do.
And I don't need a better low light performance as much as I do need some better DR in uncontrolled lighting situations right now.
ATM I have to use noise reduction a lot since DR is simply not enough in many situations - while I never use any NR in low light situations, lol

Had to denoise all the clips in the chapel in the following film, while I didn't in the outdoor night scenes. (Shot on GH5/GX85/P4P)

You forgot to add that it would Only cost about $1,000.00 instead of $15,000.00 it would probably cost to build it LoL. Everyone in the world would buy that camera if it was 2 grand!
It would look like a Apple iPhone roll out with people camping in tents 4 days ahead of the launch outside of a Panasonic store.

Thanks Luke! This looks great! Thinking if it's not the EVA S35 sensor that's the "big" thing, then it may very well be much improved SNR for cleaner, noise-free images with a greater range of ISO.  Also DR seems to be pretty spectacular in all of the images you shared with us. Perhaps this is due to not a larger sensor, but maybe larger pixels due to an overall lower pixel count.  Please keep the teasers coming - not asking you to reveal anything (don't want any trouble for you and your Panasonic NDA), just rather a few more frame grabs and BTS shots until official launch would sweet. Sure there are others here too who would like to see more.
On another note, congratulations on the new family member And totally get it if you spend less time here and more time with family as that will always be more important than teasing us with frame grabs lol.

I took another look, and realized what I thought I saw with the AF/AE button was not the case. ( LOL ) Looking at another screen shot, it's pretty much identical to the GH5 with it's button arrangement, and labeling. The only visible difference that I can see is the drive mode dial red ring, no red buttons...  Either way, I'll be putting my name down for one  to be shipped my way as soon as it's officially announced.

Could it be an improvement of the video encoding? Zooming in down to the pixels I see very little digital compression artefacts. This would also fall in line with G9's improved JPEG engine. Better compression allows for more grading room, and more smoothness. The highlights look pretty clean too, but as said above that may have been done by a grade or lut desaturating above a certain light level.
I'm glad I asked about the tif, at least we got a page of interesting conversation out of it

The discrepancy most probably comes from the fact that the calculator gives you the distance from the edge of the lens whereas the distances on the lens itself are measured from the sensor. And that was a long lens
In my calculations in the previous page from the horizontal field of view , again I see the same thing -> m4/3 sensor.

Well...based on what I stated and how Luke responded, I'd say this camera with better dynamic range and highlight roll-off is what it is all about. Maybe Raw?
This plays big for me personally. I do a combination of wildlife and promotional video work and I have been contemplating a cinema-style camera for better quality footage. (I presently shoot with the GH5 and Canon 1DX Mark II.) My problem is that teaming a 600mm lens with a cinema camera is a lesson in futility. The only cameras that I have considered for this is a RED or Canon camera due to the ergonomics. Now that I have a clue as to what Panasonic may announce, I am more than excited about this new camera. I much prefer a smaller camera body over the cinema style camera for shooting wildlife. I presently use the GH5 with my Canon 600mm lens with a Metabones adapter. It works great and is easy to follow moving subjects such as eagles-in-flight. (I rely on the viewfinder to follow quick moving subjects. Something the EVA-1 sorely does not have nor does my Canon 1DX Mark II and adding a viewfinder makes the combination awkward.)
The problem is that it is difficult getting the shot due to so-so highlight rolloff. (Yes, I use V-Log.) A great example of where highlight roll-off comes into play is with Bald Eagles. You really need extra dynamic range and the ability to post-process the footage to bring down the white head and bring up the black feathers. Tough sledding sort-of-speak.
I was very close to purchasing the C200, but I will wait now to see what the new camera brings. I am stoked!

That clearly looks like hexadecimal to me ... i tried converting the hexadecimal parts to ASCII... just gibberish. Then i thought they could be hexadecimal color codes, but  the length doesn't match up (group of 6)

Another possible clue could be that the word shoulders is italicized possibly in reference to the shoulder/knee region of a logarithmic response curve.

Yes, it's a 1000mm f/10 Rubinar i bought in Ebay for 150 euros. It's not very sharp, but it can be used for wildlife shots with reasonable quality in HD.
You can see two secuences shot with the Rubinar in this vídeo. At minute 4:36 and 6:10.

On my GH5 I actually purchased a 400mm FD lens on ebay for $300, especially for moon shots, which gives me, if my crop info is right:
Regular 4K (no crop): 800mm 4k crop (1.4 crop via ex tele mode enable in the GH5 menu): 1120mm 1080 crop (2.7 crop via ex tele mode enable in the GH5 menu): 2160 mm Personally I usually shoot the moon in 800mm or 1120mm "modes" because longer focals are hard to managed in terms of vibration. In body IS can help but it can also get confused on the tripod and be counter productive. Past 1000mm or so, simple light wind can have an effect on the camera shake especially with long and heavy tele lenses which extend far in front of the camera mounting point (because of the arm effect that amplifies the vibration). To counter this I purchase an adaptable tele support. This way I can balance the setup and move the support point forward.
Another point is that the moon moves quite fast and tighter focal is harder to frame.
Finally, wide aperture lens doesn't matter much for moon shoots. I find myself closing the aperture down to f/5 or f8 for full moon shoot. It's bright !
You can also get the FD 300mm for $50-100 on ebay. All you need is a cheap $25 ring adapter.

@Cliff Totten I like your enthusiasm!
However you can't get the pixel size of a sensor from the maths you used, it just doesn't work that way. There are gaps between pixels which vary in size as well.
Sony have published the pixel size of the sensor already.
    It's 4.63 µm (H) × 4.63 µm (V)
    http://www.sony-semicon.co.jp/products_en/new_pro/may_2017/imx294cjk_e.html
Even then this is not the final spec for low light, other things will determine it as well, such as readout noise, noise reduction, pixel design and structure, readout speed, bit depth, native sensitivity, video mode, scaling, codec and even more.
The Sony A7S II (12MP full frame) has the largest pixels and lowest density for the size.
    That is 8.4 micron (µm H) x 8.4 µm (V)
Also we should bear in mind amidst the hype, that the sensor model used by the GH5S is purely speculative on behalf of the rumors sites and users - they are the ones that have found a match between the rumored specs and a Sony sensor... but it might not even be a Sony chip, it could be a similar one from somewhere else with completely different performance characteristics. Until Panasonic announce anything therefore, it is all rumours! The Sony one fits the bill for sure, but let's wait and see. It was originally marketed for industrial use, not mirrorless.
It might be very good in low light, but the pixel size and density is not the most impressive thing about it, at least on paper.
If it shoots 12bit raw DNG with compression... THAT will improve low light performance no end.

The IMX294 is 10.7. But,...Im still not getting this "quad pixel" structure that it has and how that affects "actual" pixel count. Of course, we are still not sure that the GH5-S is actually using this sensor. It seems like they will but we wont know 100% until ChipWorks (TechInsights) tears the GH5-S down and X-rays it.
If Panasonic actually uses this chip and explains they are using a "quad pixel" array, than it's a 100% guarantee it's this Sony chip. However, Panasonic WILL go to great lengths to not discuss or give any "hints" that its a Sony chip. Panasonic is VERY against the idea if us all knowing who made the sensors they use. I had 3 Panasonic reps at NAB tell me "No, it's OUR chip in the GH5"
ChipWorks (TechInsights) actually does detailed analysis reports on many popular electronic devises. They de-solder chips, X-ray them, do cross section imaging and closely inspect with electron microscopes,...all the parts on a mainboard. They literally break down the foundry and manufacturing process of these sensors and sell the reports to companies that want to know how their competition builds their boards and who their suppliers are. They even map out the entire "inside" logic and schematic of a chip! VERY expensive analytic data! I cant afford it, nor would I even want to pay for it. However, the outside of the report does easily identify the sensor.

Anyhoo,...they absolutely nailed the GH5 with a Sony EXMOR IMX272 image sensor. So, sorry Panny and Sony,...you guys got outed,...dirty style!

Casey switched from Canon and Sony to using the Panasonic GH5 almost 90% of the time. He still has other cameras but it's the GH5 that really turned things around.
Canon failed to give YouTubers like him what they need... 4K, small file sizes, articulated screen, all in the same camera... so the 5D Mk IV for all it's Dual Pixel AF goodness languishes in the corner as do the 1080p Canons - Big up-swing in noticeable quality when Casey switched to the GH5's 10bit 4K.
Hopefully though, the number of out of focus shots in Casey's video where the camera selects the background instead of the subject will whip Panasonic into action to sort out some form of Dual Pixel AF competitor technology. Or maybe Casey doesn't mind... vlogging is a raw style, doesn't need to be formal and correct all the time. I do think AF in video mode is the next thing for Panasonic to get right though. It's a priority in my mind.

Even on camera forums Casey is sometimes used as an argument, "if its good enough for him..".
And he obviously knows how to vlogg. Almost every channel I know has turned to his style of editing and mixing music. So Im not at all surprised that he is an influencer on gear as well.

I spoke to a Panasonic Rep at NAB this year. The day before NAB Casey switched to the GH5 and talked about it in his vlog. The Panasonic rep told me that as soon as that video went up, their pre-orders on the GH5 went up 20%. That was in 24 hours back in April. I can't imagine the number of sales that have been done just from Casey since then.

It would be a heck of a trumpingly tremendeous:) campaign to have Casey Neistat show off their new revolutionary AF of this new camera. The perfect vlogging camera, all these vlogging vips of the utubs universe have been bragging about.
People would go nuts and buy it for 2799, just for the best in class AF, Casey Neistat proven.
It will be a great time to buy used GH5 cameras very soon.:)

"What the faster sensor DOES allow is faster video AF in contrast-detect mode!"
Thank god for this, if true. For the past week I've had an E-M1 mark II and a GH5 sitting in my bedroom, and as beautiful as the GH5's 400mbps footage is, I ended up going with the Olympus as I just couldn't accept the GH5's focusing, and this was with firmware 2.1. For stills it was ok (though still not as confident as the E-M1), but for video it was laughable, even just back-button-focusing before I started the shot took a good few seconds to slowly get to where it needed to be. Yes, I usually shoot MF, but I still think a $2k camera should have usable AF.
