Great thread idea, unfortunately the first couple of upload links have already expired.
Andrew, maybe you could post some instructions for people who want to share their files, to post them on a permanent hosting platform?

Mattias, would it be possible to reupload those RED files again? Would love to try them out in FCPX.

Here are a couple BMPCC ProRes LT files with the 14mm Lumix lens at ISO800:

I used the 5DMKiii for a whole day's shoot and it did not skip a beat for us.
    https://vimeo.com/122567314

I have also used the BMPCC a couple of times and whenever I have the choice, I would go for the 5Dmkiii 99% of the time.
The audio is much better on the Canon and the FF look is much more appealing to me.
Plus I prefer the overal image and colour from the 5D over the BMPCC.

I'll try to upload some 5Dmkiii DNG sequences for you in that other thread tonight.

^ Could not agree more with you!

Also, I found the BMPCC screen a nightmare to use for judging proper exposure.
The histogram doesn't always show you the finer underexposed areas of your subject and I found that the BMPCC doesn't deal well with underexposure either.
Ideally you would want to use an external monitor with a (optional) LUT table if you go down this route.

Interesting to see a similar look on the recent Philip Bloom video promoting the FS5:
    http://www.sony.co.uk/pro/article/broadcast-products-pxw-fs5-philip-bloom-review-no-limits

Both cameras look lovely if you ask me.
It really comes down to the skills of the operator/editor.
Props to both Ricardo and Philip and their craftsmanship!

Heres my settings for the camera on these shots :
    Saturation -2 // Sharpness - 10 // Contrast - 3 // Master black level 8 // 16-235 // For these frames I used the Canon 50mm f1.8 and Samyang 24mm f1.4.
As for the grading, I used no input lut, just the Sunderland (deluts) Lut at 100% // Fade 44 and Sharpen at 18,5 (though I will decrease this) !
As for the curves go, heres an image of how it looks, notice I also lowered a bit of saturation on the yellows and reds :

Heres a few more shots with this grading :

Some of these will require noise reduction, some are shot at 1080p others at 4k, and I will probably tweak further.
I find this grading very versatile, it fits mosty of my shots with little to no tweaking, outside, inside, church with those terrible lights and all that.
    Hope you guys like it

Recently got my NX1 for a bargain price.
The 120fps mode is actually pretty good and can be edited flawlessly with any other Canon DSLR footage.

True, although I didn't see any Nikon-NX adapters on B&H that offer aperture control.
However, this one on eBay seams to be the one!

I have one pre-ordered from a place that Aaron Green recommended. I'm most excited by the global shutter option. There is something about the way it renders motion that makes a subtle difference. And of course, I look forward to shooting raw and prores without the need for an outboard recorder/monitor. I've been running around with a GH4 and Odyssey 7Q+ and it can be a bit unwieldy when I'm on my own.
I have assembled everything I need to shoot with it collecting in a box. some purchased, most I already had -- cage, cards, cables, 502 monitor, speedbooster, ND, follow focus, tokina 11-16, sigma 18-35 + 50mm, and Rich at Dog Schidt Optiks is crafting a Trump 58 set with the 38 and 88 attachments for me which i can't wait to pair with the bmmcc. Hopefully it ships this month.

I also picked up this fantastic monopod by Sirui. bought it for the Micro but have been using it with my GH4 in the meantime and I love it.

At 1h50min. into the video, does Alister basically say: "If you record in 8bit, do not use SLog3, period."
Or am I mixing something up?

    Edit//
This comparison makes a lot more sense to me now, after hearing Alister talk about Slog3 in 8bit vs 10bit:
    https://vimeo.com/143132608
There is so much more colour information available in the 10bit files from the FS7.

Antonis got a reaction from TheRenaissanceMan in Canon 1DC - What's a Good Deal?
I would like to add that editing native 4K 1DC clips will require a heavy machine. The C100 files will be much easier to work with without the need of transcoding.
And don't forget to add additional backup storage which you will need when shooting large files with the 1DC.

Curious - just looked at the launch videos.
I like to be constructive, but those launch videos were absolutely terrible. They sold me on the form factor, but not the image. The grading in particular was like a thrown up fruit salad.

Tested this today (despite the bickering here) and found that I got 29m - hit record again, got 10 minutes more before the recording just stopped and the camera shut down. No data lost. But for live gigs that would like to shoot at 4k... this is a deal breaker. Really bummed out.
