I second an ultrawide 34".  I find it the best balance of detail/screen size. They are expensive, but very much worth it.

Great color and motion cadence, does not look like much rolling shutter at all.

Not following on a few things here. I love my A7SII too, but I think you've got a few things mixed up here unless I'm mistaken. And, caveat, this being the problem of the ridiculous caveat machine that is the A7RII.

    - The reduced rolling shutter mode is full frame 4K. Which has a little less detail, and a lot less rolling shutter.
    - The shaper, more detailed mode is Super 35mm. But you get added rolling shutter. But this isn't a problem for lenses, you just get a little crop. No need to change mount and I wouldn't bother with a focal reducer for such a minimal crop.
    - ISO performance was supposed to be very strong on the A7RII, equal until around 25k. I rarely ever shoot higher on the A7SII. I doubt many do.
    - A7SII real benefits are SLOG3 support, in-camera LUT for SLOG, that slightly higher ISO performance.

Again, I'd still rather have better AF. Annnyway, these topics are boring. Get what works for your needs and your budget. I only photograph for a hobby so I couldn't rationalise buying the A7RII over the A7SII. If you have a project coming up, buy something in your budget. If you just want to buy and play around, wait and see. There is no right camera, as thousands have said. In 2 years you'll be wanting the latest and greatest all over again.

    Bro.
Panny 7-14mm f4 can be had for under $500.
Sony 10-18mm f4 is around $600. It does have oss though and takes screw on filters.
Panny 12-35mm f2.8 can be had for $500
Sony: no f2.8 standard apsc lens. But you can buy the FE GM 24-70mm for $1,800
Panny 35-100mm can be had for $600
Sony: no equivalent but you can use the new 70-200mm f2.8 for $2,600...

The only other "comparable" lenses are the sony 18-105mm f4 for $500 which is a stop slower and the Zeiss one (forgot specs) that is closer to $1,000.

Panny Trinity is under $2k USD used on eBay if you scrounge for deals - for f2.8 zooms! Small and lightweight.  Admittedly the 35-100 stabilizer is shit for video but the IQ is fine.
Sony lineup has nothing close and you have to use the heavy and crazy expensive full frame lenses for f2.8... Currently the 10-18 24-70 and 70-200 would be just under $5k... And heavy and large.

$3k vs $5k. Is that a "fair" comparison? Maybe not, but we have no choice since Sony has no comparable lenses!

Sony is boatloads more expensive.  Whether it's worth it or not is up to you.  The GM 70-200 f2.8 looks pretty sweet since I think they said it was parfocal.  The 24-70 I'm disappointed has no built in oss.  I really like the 5 axis dual is on the 18-105 a6500 combo.  Haven't really been overly impressed with ibis and adapted lenses.

No way Sony is cheaper!  When have they ever been cheaper?!  It's Sony!

dual SD cards with backup; you can't risk a card failure in a wedding. That alone is enough for me but... No risk of overheating, no 30 mins limit, an everlasting battery and the simple reality of having a proper Panasonic battery grip that Sony has never produced for their apsc line. 3600 ISO with a 1.4 lens is more than enough low light for me, if 6400 is mostly clean I won't need anything else. I'm just waiting for the AF-C performance when the need rises, as tracking in a gimbal or a one man band interview that can't always check the focus is the biggest win Sony has over Pana.

The guy in your video knows nothing. Here is how you interpret 30p "as" 24p (or whatever your timeline is set to), and every frame will be played back without stuttering.

The SLR Magic lenses do not have a great reputation with my friends who have used them.  I have not. So they complain that Vedya dropped their plans for an anamorphic set when the GH4 sensor aspect ratio changed.  I really hope the revive those plans.

thank you so much for the kind words everyone. All i had with me was the nx1 body paired with 16-50s and a very unstable and cheap tripod, had to upgrade it btw cause i missed a lot of shots because of it. Sometime i used the tripod folded as a rig for better camera grip and stabilization. In terms of settings i have used Normal Gamma with sat -5, sharpness -10 and contrast -3. I had MB at plus 9. I did the edit in Final Cut Pro X where i just tweaked the exposure wherever was the case and apply an m31 LUT at 50% and warmed the overall look and feel by a notch. that's all i did. Thank you again for the support and the nice feedback. i put my heart to it and it seems that got to u which makes me proud. cheers.

Using C100 is what turned me on to ignoring sheets of numbers and start looking at real-world performance. It's wonderfully robust for such compressed footage.
Stick a Ninja 2 on it with DNxHD 220x or similar and the footage is amazing, again, the pipeline has something good going on.

I thought this was fairly common practice with the Alexa, and considered one of it's big strengths. High quality and efficient Prores. Particularly for TV where turnaround times are faster.

Most very low budget (under $10 million) features and indies shoot prores. What's more remarkable is the success of such an inexpensive movie.
The Alexa's prores looks 99.9% as good as its RAW and 10X better than most other cameras regardless of recoding format. The difference between prores 422 and 4444 is probably bigger than Alexa prores vs Codex. RAW is not a distribution format or a format that you can see without it first being processed. RAW must be processed eventually and the in-camera processing is very excellent on the Alexa. It's not that the 5D makes a better RAW file than a JPEG; it's that the 5D turns out a worse JPEG than a high end PC turns out a .TIFF from the RAW. The 5D's built in processing needs to be quick and dirty to stay fast and consume minimal power. And this carries over doubly to the 5D's terrible built in video. But an Alexa has that high end PC built in (why it's so big and heavy and battery hungry) and beyond that you're going to a high quality intermediate codec, which you'd go to anyway for vfx, same as you'd go to a TIFF to get to Photoshop. So you're getting the equivalent of a 16 bit TIFF processed with the best settings of the best RAW developer, and that's the best you can get from RAW anyway. It just happens to happen in camera with the Alexa.
RAW is not an image until it's processed, so what's being debated isn't even the superiority of the format but where the processing is done. It is done poorly in a 5D. It is done well on a high end PC. And it's done well in an Alexa.
Unfortunately, this issue became politicized when Red marketed a problem (you need to offload the image processing because the early Reds lacked the power to debayer properly in-camera) as a feature ("in camera RAW"). Unfortunately it's still politicized and people are ignoring that this is among the least important aspects of technical image quality.
The DIT discussion is also politicized. It's a contentious position from both sides. Decent rates ($1k/day is very low for wet hire) that take others years to earn and an attack from producers trying to devalue the position on low budget work. Most of these politics do not relate to enthusiasts (same as Arri raw vs prores) except to further largely unrelated business interests by changing how conventional wisdom perceives something's value.

I really loved filming with the SLOG2/GFILM combo and am currently working my way through a travel video edit. Some of the shots are stunning, others are less so, but it's well worth checking out. Absolutely 0 banding so far, which is pretty impressive. Macro blocking is certainly there, but not too badly.

Bought this little Carl Zeiss Flektogon 35mm 2.4 lens a few months back. It's a lovely portrait/macro lens. Not so great for landscape work but low contrast lenses always give such lovely character to the shot. Is the Sigma 30mm native E-mount?

If you like Nikon I would stick with it for now. Get the D750, fantastic video in small file sizes. Use your existing lenses.
Get a Tripod, a good external mic. and a lavaliere mic.
Then shoot and edit as much as you can. Upgrade your gear as needed after that point.

    Hi and welcome here
Here are a couple of remarks (after viewing it twice) :
    - It is quite long, i think you don't need 2 min but less than 1, try to keep it concise.
    - Begin by the stuff which has more chance keeping attention. I think the car sequence or nature sequences have a better overall look than the narrative stuff you put at the beginning. Just my two cents.
    - Make a nice overlay and a bit smaller. The text you put is quite big but isn't that visible still. A nice but small animated overlay with a two-word description of the shot you are seeing (like Project Name & Date) would be a better solution IMO.
Here is the good stuff now :
    - The car sequences look good, so does the mountain sequence and snow sequences
Here is the stuff I don't know what to think about :
    - The music
(As I don't know what to say, no details here :o)
Nice to see an F3 user here ! Did you get it used recently ? I'd love to get my hands on one
