  1. You can't just throw a cinema sensor in a still's camera and not have to worry about heat and processing power. The sensor is only a part of the equation, which is why the S1H is so expensive and has a heatsink compared to the S1. It's why the Mini Alexa came out after the Alexa at a higher cost, because of the processing needed to run that sensor in a small form factor. You wont see that Canon C500 Mark ii sensor in a stills camera for years if ever.
  2. Set Decorator was lazy that day. A little more time spent on grade. Was a test of the 4:4:4 out, love the color flexibility.
  3. Messing around with the F3 in the basement. Two different grades.
  4. Honestly at this point I don't think it's ever going to be released. Its features will get rolled into the A74
  5. Adorama has one for $5800 for crazy low hours. https://www.adorama.com/us 1238705.html?sterm=3G1Tv825AxyORsMxU-SAVSQkUkixg-3MEzbZSU0&utm_source=rflaid912994 Only thing is though the internal 4K option is needed for the F5 to be worth the difference. Without it it's only HD internal.
  6. It's an incredible camera at that price. I'd honestly get that camera before an Alexa classic even at double to price. The Internal 4K 10-bit 4:2:2, global shutter and insane dynamic range, internal ND's. also a much lighter camera.
  7. Really nice departing message from the TUGG owner, hope he stays in the industry if possible.
  8. Can attest to the one in Resolve, does a pretty great job.
  9. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1557461-REG/blackmagic_design_atem_mini_pro_hdmi.html/overview Wish they had announced a solid release date for once. Though the eblast they sent out says available now.
  10. Wow they did it, worth it's weight in gold. if this is less than $1500 it's going to sell like wildfire. Edit: $600 is a STEAL
  11. That external recording feature is pretty huge. Wondering what the retail cost will be.
  12. Didn't even consider that, I love their viewfinder for the Ursa so would absolutely love a smaller form factor version of that. In the age of mirrorless? I doubt it. I'm hoping that they join the L mount alliance.
  13. A Full Frame camera. The form factor is the question mark.
  14. It's actually a backwards terrible solution. Instead of properly displaying and recording the Full Range it converts it into legal range, throwing out data.
  15. You won't get any good stabilization with adapted lenses, and no electronic adapters are available. To be frank, do NOT buy into this system if your not using native lenses. Period. Buy a used XT-2, or an A7rII, or a Panasonic GH4. All are better options with better features, extensive 3rd party adapters, and a path forward with future cameras. Edit: I'm a gigantic NX1 fan, but the rolling shutter on it is horrible if don't have some kind of stabilization. I think the 16-50 and 50-150 are two of the best lenses ever made with incredible AF. If you take them and the AF out of the equation the camera is not worth it.
  16. The blackmagic gear and switchers are all out of stock. For my needs I got this to hook up my F3: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DPVG74G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edit: wow, Apparently I got the last SDI version of it in stock and they removed the listing, only HDMI version available. All the others have unknown delivery dates that might not be until May, crazy.
  17. Hoping that means Resolve support coming soon.
  18. Honestly the XT-3 was already ahead of the NX1 in everything except ergonomics, XT-4 far surpasses that with IBIS, LOG, and far better rolling shutter performance. Only thing that the NX1 beats it at is the body design.
  19. Crazy deals on Adorama right now for Quasar Science Bulbs. 8' and 4' are half off https://www.adorama.com/qsq100w60xg.html?origterm=quasar+science+q100-x+q-led-x+8'+crossfade+linear+led+lamp+single&searchredirect=true https://www.adorama.com/qsq50w2060xg.html
  20. As Kye said how are you going to deal with 4 cameras and switching between them by yourself?
  21. For the simple setup I'm going for I'm going to have OBS studio (Free) and have a USB camera by the laptop as a wide angle (safety) and my F3 through a SDI converter box as a movable camera. For one event I will setup the live stream as a picture in picture, and producer will be switching the camera. The other event is fine with just a one camera setup. That + lighting should be professional enough for their needs. I have a friend that I've been tossing bigger jobs because he was lucky enough to be working on a live event setup before this all went down. He has a teradeck wireless rig to a blackmagic switcher with three mobile Blackmagic 4K cameras. He has his moniter and switching in a van that he can just drive to a location and setup quick.
  22. Anyone else getting a large amount of requests to do live streams? I am now doing 2 in the coming month and had to purchase equipment to accommodate.
  23. Honestly I would just not allow political posts of any kind on the forum.
  24. Gonna start a thread about it as well. One thing of note if you shoot on the F3, the files need to be read in the editor as Full Range. If you just drag it into your editor it will default to read it as limited range and throws out information.
  25. I've been seeing a ton of dropping prices online on ebay. The wildcard now is making sure that your buying from someone that can still get the product to you, and I wouldn't even attempt overseas. Best deal I'm seeing right now is a FS7 for $3300. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-PXW-FS7-XDCAM-4K-Super-35-Camera-System-with-Viewfinder-Mark-I/143533065591?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225086%26meid%3De48902b78984460e84a9da82b425761d%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D143533065591%26itm%3D143533065591%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Aad5814b2-6ce6-11ea-9ec0-74dbd18047c7|parentrq%3A06abdfa41710ada58a922286ffc88a8e|iid%3A1
