I had the same concerns. There are a lot of red flags in this post.
If he is indeed so wealthy to where he makes the amount of scammed money in a day, then refund it. Don't say you'll refund it "someday" and then say you have no obligation to do anything.
And the biggest red flag of all is the "this will be my last post, I'm leaving forever". That is NOT something a innocent person would do. Saying you're worried about more scammers is not a logical concern.
Someone who was actually trying to make things right would not cut themselves off from us and the victims. But you know who would? A scammer.
It all just seems very transparent to me. The whole "this is terrible, I'd never do this! I'm so rich, why would I need to do this? Even though I'm so loaded and people were scammed of thousands of dollars in my name, I have no obligation to pay. But I will! Someday....oh by the way I'm never going to come back here again. Bye!" thing is soooo shady.
    It doesn't make sense, people!

I think the op needs to now reach him again and point him to this thread. He has 7 days to reply before I go medieval on him.
    And that wont be fun.

I find that the vast majority of people who pirate movies would never see the film otherwise. It's the reason I laugh when studios used to trumpet about how much money they "lost" to piracy, when in reality the actual amount lost would be a small fraction of it.
I would be ecstatic if I made a film that was heavily pirated because in the end, people will have seen my material and might tell someone else about it.
And more to your point, it's a very valid view point. The video game industry is the same. There are tons of old DOS games that would be lost forever if they weren't ripped and put up for free. Archival is important and nobody else is stepping up to the plate so...

did a quick test with second prototype, shot with a7s/shogun:
frame1: 100mm/1.8 wide open, close focus at 1.2m end up 16:9 ratio - will fix that with rectilux (when i can get it :), graded with lumetri in premiere (curves, wheels, lut - mixed all that to test out how grading posibilities is changed with 1/3 additional data - and it feels like it changed noticeably), there is visible lightened areas on top and bottom - thats because front stack of two glasses is poped out of current housing
frame2: closed down to something between f2.8~4 and still missed a focus, so think of it as RS effect test aaand... just look at it

and here's a part i totally screwed up - u can clearly can see what's happened) i was so busy nailing focus so didn't notice i forgot to change mode, but still u can watch it as rough background rendition/dof test (wide open, focus at 1-2m, no grading):

Personally if I had to choose a ~$1000 1080p camera, I'd go with the F3.

More color information is always going to result in better keys, no? You can certainly get by on a gh4 (Hell I used to key stuff from the gh2) , but if you have the option I'd go with the BM. Do you have access to an external recorder?

I watched that video assuming the left side was Ursa given the opinions here that the skin tones look better on the BM.
I think the ursa skin tones are way too magenta. I prefer the look of the kine.

Here's a quick impromptu interview I did when I was there. Probably has the same info as the others but he does confirm that prores certification within the month. Shipping of 6k terra within month and 5k version in 3 months. Also that it's a one year limited warranty.

When I talked to the CEO yesterday, he said that the prores certification should be wrapped up within a month.
It was a shame how tiny and unpopulated the kinefinity booth was at NAB.

Looks awesome. I've always wanted to try out kinefinity. Until they work out a US presence though, I'm just not comfortable at shelling out the money for a camera I can't have serviced in my own country.

Kristoferman reacted to The Chris in Sony A7RII 4k versus NX1 4K
You can't add DR to the NX1 either, so its a tradeoff depending on your preferences. The NX1's extra sharpness wouldn't improve on this piece one bit. https://vimeo.com/142734311
Pretty tough to shoot anything indoors without going above 1600 unless you're bringing lots of lights. I shoot events and go to 6400 regularly, even with F/1.4 lenses. Less noise and more DR make a bigger difference because the NX1 gets pretty messy above 1600, and 6400 is absolute mush, all the detail is lost in the noise. At least that was my experience.
"normal conditions" aren't the same for everyone.
    YMMV

Kristoferman reacted to Don Kotlos in FS5/FS7 internal raw?
In case you were replying to my other comment, then specs guaranty what a card can do. When you are going out of spec then you have to run tests on your own to make sure each card is up to the task and I doubt many professionals have the time. Even in the case cards run at higher write speeds than what they are spec'ed for, you can still have dropped frames depending on the state of the card, how full it is, how old it is, what batch it is etc. That is why there are SD specs so you know what a card can consistently do and what it cannot do ... Anyways, I am sure professionals can use whatever they can to do the job and that might include shooting RAW with BMPCC or even 5Diii, but if I was one and wanted to shoot 4K RAW for paying jobs, I would invest in an Ursa mini instead.

Yeah, if you follow Nitsan Simantov, Alan Besedin and Simon Cade, you get some cool suggestions for gear, character and shooting skills. The Brits are great!
The Pixapros look cool, but personally I'd rather look into these two options:
    Or...
Of course depends on required mobility, output and what kind of light you're looking for. If you work with matteboxes in a studio setup, part of your shoot is taking stills, the Pixapros might be the more obvious choice.

nitsan is cool. He really likes the pixapro 100d led lights, which coincidentally are rebadged and sold by neewer in the states.
I'm wary of the cri of them but nitsans videos look nice.

Sorry, but there are very little internal components in fluorescent fixtures:
terminals wires a ballast (when not using CFLs) The only issue would be a bad ballast (which can be replaced for ~$10) or bad wire insulation (which would be very quick to find out because it'll dead short and/or electrocute you).

You're probably confusing LED panels or power adapters, which run off VDC and have many electronic components. (Usually the problem here is the rectifier/power supply being poorly insulated and the components being crammed way too close together and to the main board.)
