Taranis got a reaction from BTM_Pix in The 4K Fuji X-T2 is here
Thanks, that would be nice! I was considering the BM Video Assist 4K too, but I read too many reviews about it being unstable. And yeah, if you can get a 4K60p capable recorder for a little more money, it's reasonable to save up for that one, as a recorder can easily outlive a camera body.

Taranis got a reaction from Marco Tecno in Sony A9 - announcement live stream
Seems like it has a crop: "In full-frame shooting, the angle of view will be narrower under the following conditions: – When [File Format] is set to [XAVC S 4K] and [Record Setting] is set to [30p]."

Short comp of the other 3 clips including the wide dynamic range restaurant one.
4K ProRes 422LT as per the originals.

I tried to give it a warmer, sunset type of look.

Taranis got a reaction from iamoui in No Joke - RAW 4K on the 5D Mark III
The NX1 beats every other body at hijacking threads, but joking aside, there were tests showing that the NX1 can't write the fastest UHS-II cards at more than 60MB/s, so it's not ideal for RAW recording.

I shot some high contrast scenes to test out what's the maximum dynamic range you can achieve without F-Log.

Honestly I didn't shoot any video before leaving on my trip, just a few test stills to see if the lens was centered as I sold all my Sony gear a couple weeks before leaving and kind of built my kit on the fly. Bad idea to embark on something like this without knowing your gear, but time was tight and I really like the XT2 after renting one to compare to my a7rII and a6300. That's why I wound up with a 16-55 and 50-140 that are sitting at home (too heavy to carry everyday) while I'm on the road all year. It doesn't help that until I hit Australia/Asia, I'd never actually seen a Fuji camera in a shop so I couldn't tinker with lenses before buying - now I see them everywhere as there are tons of camera shops in the countries I've visited so far - Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Anyway, I think the 55-200 is pretty sharp, and a really good variable aperture zoom. If you need the focusing speed or light gathering/DOF of f/2.8, then the 50-140 is a no brainer. For a travel lens with more reach and half the weight, the 55-200 has been a gem.

Thanks, exactly what I needed to hear The price difference is huge and I think I can live without that constant f/2.8.

Huh?
The X-T2 shows clearly much more detail, where the Olympus looks muddy while oversharpened with lot's of halos. The Fuji wins hands down.

I have the SLR Magic Vari ND II, it's one of the best in it's price category. It's also a polarizer, but that part is unfortunately a pain to adjust.

Thanks. Hard to say, with Pro Neg STD -2 shadows/highlights I could get about the same DR as with the D5200 using Flaat11, there was maybe a little less color information in the darkest areas. I'd say between 10-11 stops without F-Log, but that's only my unscientific guess

What do you mean by less extreme? F-LOG is pretty usable the way it is, I just tried to grade two shots provided by Oliver Nimz, his footage was posted here earlier. My grade is intentionally very close to his:
There is a little banding in the sky, otherwise I think it's fine even though it's 8bit. There is some green tint in F-LOG, but nothing you can't fix in post.

And as a side effect some grades turn out to be "better" (liked by more people), than others. But I get it, I should leave it a side effect

You just need the right adapter, with the Metabeans Speed Roaster your GH5 can do an espresso just fine!
Just make sure your sensor gets really hot!

Just made a quick comparison with my D5200 (using Flaat11). Wanted to see how the X-T2's DR compares with the flattest settings possible without F-log. Everything is in the description. Unfortunately it was an overcast day, but I tried to find high contrast scenes. This test is not about color.

Taranis got a reaction from Cas1 in EOSHD Pro Color for Panasonic (GH4, GX85, G85 + more)
Sorry I meant the whole example starting around 0:40. Watching it again the Pro Color candle does not have the pink of the 1DX MK2, so I actually prefer the Pro Color over that. It's just that overall redness that I find a bit too much.
