For DIY crowd who want to create their own very high CRI LED panel, LED spot or flex lights. These guys sell CRI of 95-98 LEDs with everything you need to make your own LED lighting stuff.
    https://www.yujiintl.com

You might ask yourself why do you need to make your own lights, when you can buy them cheaply. The reason is some lights with high CRI are still very expensive and you can build something yourself for 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost. But more importantly you can build something modular that you can customize to your needs.

Look at Roger Deakins custom light setup for his movies, https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/blade-runner-2049-lighting-cinematography/

    or soft panel,

If you read the Aputure article above, they also mentioned that RGB LEDs tend to generate more heat. Looks like it's the property of the RGB LEDs. Maybe they just need more research.
I have not noticed over heating on my Viola but I have not tested them for a long period either.

You must be on some kind of drugs then. I've never seen a GH5 video that didn't look like absolute garbage at 4k... hell, it doesn't even look like a proper 2k image. The Sharpening and NR have no true off settings and it renders the detail as nothing but over-sharpened muddy-plastic. I'd like to see this GH5 video that has the "nice detail" you talking about. I'd love to be proven wrong...

I agree with him, in the photography still world the technical performance has plateaued out, with only incremental improvements now.
When will we reach this in the video world?

I reckon the BMPCC4K could be the beginning of the end.

People have an investment in their lens collection, and Metabones allows people to use that with a new camera without buying a whole new set of lenses.

Been reading around comments elsewhere. And found it strange how some people are saying USB-C drives are "expensive". Yes, please tell me more about how a 128gig drive which costs less than forty bucks is "almost as expensive as a CFast card"!
    https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-128GB-Type-C-SDDDC2-128G-G46/dp/B01EZ0X55C/

And heck, if you're just doing a basic shot on a tripod that is running for ages (say a locked off shot at an event) you could get a FOUR TERABYTE harddrive for less than US$170:

This is indeed a major feature by BMD!
I remember when I first purchased my original BMPCC I had to spend a small fortune on fast enough and big enough SD cards. Ditto SSD prices when the BMCC first launched, or CFast prices when the big URSA first launched.

Or just limit it to only tripod shots.

It can't be worse than what RED ONE shooters had to deal with! Remember how awful RED-DRIVEs were.

True, Canon EOS is burred six feet under by this point in time it is so dead.

    Note I said:

Because with 4K 60fps raw, and even greater HD slow motion, and pretty high DR and good lowlight, what really is left?

Of course just like the folks in the stills world there is a never ending list of "more" wanted!

But I reckon just like the stills world we might get soon to point we can worry less about the technical quality of the image, and more about everything else. (such as ergonomics, or having built in NDs, I/O options, TC, wireless, or focus tracking, etc)

How do you make the BMPCC4K be a pocket camera?

    By folding it up!

Be a bit of a waste of a BMPCC if I only ever used it on one wedding.

    Exactly.

And also because it is a Mark II product I expect it will ship with less teething issues than some past BMD products have had.

A Ha!!! Now you know how we sony a6500 owners felt when the GH5 came out...

In all seriousness, I might sell my Sonys and buy an GH5 and some MFT lenses and then pick up the BMPCC4K when it comes out in September. Otherwise I was going to get the a7 III.

Still on topic... This is a Mark II product. From a well-known camera manufacturer and Resolve provider, amongst other goodies.
Far away to be any introductory technology based on crowdfunding. Well, unless we have to call the mainstream RED the same... ;-)

I would also hold a camera with my right hand if I was going to film myself, and I assumer most right handed people would do the same, so that extra record button won't be all that helpfull. In the presentation, Grant noted he was left handed, and so it's perfect for him. Selfish man!

Different sensor design, has quite a few pros/cons vs Terra 4K. (arguably the Terra 6K is "better", but the Terra 4K is newer and I know people who owned a Terra 6K then sold it once the Terra 4K arrived)

Terra 6K is same sensor as in the KineMAX 6K, while Terra 4K is a totally new sensor for Kinefinity (probably the same one as in the GH5S?).

Why the GH5 in particular? I say Panasonic has been banging on their doors for a while now, such as the GH4 with the first ever internal 4K camera in that niche.
Full frame diehards will say MFT is going to go extinct in the future as FE gathers speed (and Canikon FF mirrorless arrive), but I'd say the evidence on the grounds says nothing is further from the truth. MFT is one of the most well supported standards there are! By a wide range of companies.

And since then only more have started to use MFT, such as DJI.

A lot of people are making the joke that they'll probably take another year to start shipping, but BM is a way different company than it was back in 2013. They'll deliver in September. That's my bet.

I have to say - and sorry, It has no anything especially with this quote - that now I really don't understand why GH5 evolves so much antagonism?
Even one glance at calendar will simply show that at the moment when  BMPCC 4k started distribution GH5 will probably be 2 years old camera...
