Hallelujah! That would've been insane. These politicians must be so damn bored that apparently they really don't have anything better to do than to come up with shit like this. I guess as long as they find ways to keep themselves preoccupied they're gonna keep their jobs and with that those ridiculous salaries and benefits.

I filed this rumor with the A99II, curved sensor RX2 and the A9 "pro A7" unicorns SAR has been trumpeting for the last year or so. SAR had nothing on any of the upcoming releases - he was way off with the A7RII, had nothing on the RX10II or RX100IV. He also had nothing on the A7II at the end of last year. All the announcements were a complete surprise. It appears all his insider info evaporated after the hack and hes now just making stuff up. Well, he did get the A7RII about 20 minutes before the embargo was lifted.
I'm sure we'll start seeing "SR3 - A7sII to have IBIS, 399pt AF, 4k internal and BSI - will be released later this year or early next year" rumors soon. Followed by "SR3 - A7III getting 399pt AF, 4k internal and BSI - will be released later this year or early next year". You can probably add high resolution sensor shift mode like Olympus has to the rumor mill as well - I would because it will get clicks.
He did great work, but most of that's in the past. I still visit the site daily - its just a great resource for samples and tests of all things E-mount.

If people that watch my videos complain about resolution, digital artifacts, lack of color or any other technical deficiency, then it is not the camera to blame or even the post process. It is my fault that I didn't make a stronger story.
    But I can't deny I am a gear addict.

The colours in that video still don't seem as natural or as nice as those shots with your usual cameras though?

    @Jordan Drake
Skintones are actually manageable using cinelike D. But have been working on my workflow quite some time...
This is an example just using my LUT (Before, below after LOG LUT and further grading)
Notice the green hue on her skin (especially the last picture). It's completely gone after grading.
I really would love to see a test between my workflow and V-LOG.

Hey all. I posted a couple of weeks ago asking for advice on crowd funding, and crowd sourcing. I got some great advice, especially from Zak Forsman.
I've launched a Kickstarter and my goal is to create a short film based entirely off of a soundtrack. The said soundtrack is from Johnny Jewel (Chromatics) and can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/johnnyjewel/symmetry-themes-for-an
I've contacted Johnny and received permission to use the score in a non-profit sense. It's very 80's influenced and the movies I'm rewatching for inspiration are Escape From New York, Terminator, Collateral, Nightcrawler, and a few more. It's going to be led my a strong female character and take place on the streets of Chicago, at night.
If you guys could help me out even with a few dollars I'd be forever grateful!

Based on just a few hours of shooting XAVC-S on the A6000, the new codec does improve the levels of detail in the image a lot. I'm on the road at the moment and I don't have access to a 1080p monitor right now, so I don't want to draw any conclusions just yet. I am seeing a touch of moire here and there, in detailed brick-work etc, no worse than any down-sampling cam (but I need to look at it in 1080p). It looks like it's only in the luma channel, so at least it's not colourful rainbows. Sony's AVCHD lagged quite far behind Panasonic and Nikon's 1080p image (I have a G6 and I used to have a D5200). XAVC-S seems to close the gap, but I need to shoot more before coming to conclusions.

Wow. I had imagined something like this, and it is here now. In what I had imagined, it would have been more oval and nore flat, and have multi-mix setup features as well (for multiple person dialogue), have audio monitoring via an audio metre as well as on the phone (only during start and stop on headphones) and the rest on a real time graph, and, maybe longer recording time. I love the size of this though, and the price would be subjective to its sound quality. On the whole it is superb for version 1.0

It's been good. There is an exposure meter in LiveView which I had not expected. The screen is big and high-res enough to flip it out and use the camera ENG style on your shoulder. Bright enough to use on an overcast day too I think.
I hope you mean the newer 35mm lens because the older DX one sucks.
Also you should check to make sure that you can control video with Wifi. I think I read somewhere that you can't.
The image is very nice but when you focus to infinity you really notice how soft it is (compared to a Panasonic camera or the A7S). However it will be very similar to the D750.
Here's a clip I took last Monday, shot on Flat.  The second half of the clip is graded to how Id visualise it if it were a film.

My loyalty to EOSHD started with his RX1 video http://www.eoshd.com/2013/10/full-frame-kaleidoscopic-video-sony-rx1/ Because it showed he had resourcefulness and a talent for creative filmmaking. As far as I know he's the only big blogger on the internet to do so. Philip Bloom is good but his test videos are usually boring B-roll type stuff.  Over the last year I've noticed a decline in creativity in the videos Andrew has posted and an increase in his aggressive forum posts. It's good that he's taking some personal time

I cant agree with your analysis, Ed.
There weren't many landscape shots in Ex Machina but the ones that were there did advance the story. Usually with the character going to or from places. And usually creating a contrasting edge to the clean, highly technological interiors.
Ex Machina is about the tipping point between being a robot and human, and how other humans would interact with them. The fact that they are sexualised humanoids works well with the story because we humans are more inclined to build a rapport with attractive members of the opposite sex. The inventor in the movie is also a needlessly buff, handsome guy but I don't see any complaints about that?

I'm always flabbergasted at the amount of cameras he buys, is it for his own use or just for reviews on this site? Must be difficult to keep up and stay focused, all these cameras/reviews/books/news reports etc.
This applies to everybody - full-on camera nerdy-ness completely drains the life out of you and any creativity you have left in you. For the past 2 months I've almost completely ignored camera/gadgety nerdy stuff and focused on creativity entirely. Videos have much improved, and because of this, better opportunities have cropped up.
Every filmmaker gets burnt out. I get burnt out twice a year. You just have to stay focused to keep well and not to overwhelm yourself with unnecessary clutter. Maybe Mr. Reid is decluttering, who knows. Rest is a good sign of gaining some sanity

Given it is done in low light it is looking good. Additionally is great seeing a video with flashing lights not suffering from the strobing  you get from a rolling shutter.

A great read on your blog Inazuma about your experiences with the Nikon and Panasonic. The Nikon does deliver on skin tones and overall look which I always find very pleasing. Look forward to your thoughts on the D5500 post purchase. I will be pairing the D5500 with the D750 once funds allow soon.

Speedboosters are the secret weapon for Micro 4/3 uses as they IMPROVE your image so much ! sharper wider and faster and give you an APSC / SUPER 35MM equivilent crop instead of the 2x crop of micro 4/3

So I use them all the time on all 3 micro 4/3 camera I use  .
Ive used this set up for over a year commercially on loads of jobs and I will not work with out them now .
If you stop right down and shoot at a very bright light source you can under certain circumstances induce a blue/purple flare spot , but just be aware of that and alter your position or stop so it goes

I shoot all  my narative stuff at around f2 or f2.8 and you dont get any spots when fully wide open .

this was all shot with Mitakon Zhyongji Lens Turbo speedbooster with Nikon Bourne 28-70mm f2.8 IF ED  fully wide open
