4k is not even a capture tech - it's just a sampling rate. '4k' can be HD 8bit 4.2.0 in a 25mbps badly compressed codec up sampled or it can be derived from 8k RAW 4.4.4 16bit. It's not a standard of image quality at all unless you start referencing broadcast standards where resolution, chroma sub sampling, bit depth and data rate are objectified and testable criteria. Thus a client who requests '4k' in image terms is like a client who requests 'hi-fi' sound in audio terms.......
 
 

There where numerous debates in the late 90s about bit depth & sampling frequency in audio. The majority of professional audio engineers today will agree that a 24 bit, 96 khz audio recording is more than enough for music, except sound design applications where you may want to slow down the recording. With a proper parallelism, a musician will get this. A 1080p video will be totally "fine" for every web application just as 16 bit/44khz will be more than enough for an audio track that will end up in Spotify or Soundcloud in a shitty audio codec.
But if your client/musician are one of those guys who are considering analog equipment as superior due to it's "warmer" sound, or he is trying to justify a 10000 $ investment in a single rack audio unit which magically adds wonderful harmonics on a poorly mastered track, then don't try to explain anything. Just shoot in 4K and make him happy :).

I think the most complete review for now, very very nice camera for the price but the dreaded yellow zombie skin tone is very visible for me.

Finally did the update for the new X-H1 firmware yesterday.  Here are my first impressions:
Autofocus in AF-C is leaps and bounds better.  My test shots on some birds and physically walking up to and away a moving subject were very good.  Using the 16-55mm zoom lens it was able to accurately track my wife walking around the yard watering plants while I slowly walked from one end of the yard to another.
Auto ISO transitions are super smooth and almost imperceptible. While I rarely use the Auto setting for video, it's nice to know I could use it in a conference or presentation situation and be okay.
IBIS is slightly improved.  Using the fuji 16-55mm, a 45mm minolta and 55mm super tak I didn't find as many huge jumps and shifts while panning.  I'm sure this will be the focus of their next update.
The overall system stability seems to be worse.  I had 3 write errors happen while just messing around with the camera. All three happened while shooting in manual with peaking turned on.  I'll be testing this more.

Autofocus with the new firmware is faster in general. The Dynamic Range bug seems to be fixed, so DR200, DR400 and Flog work very well with video, just like the DR200 recording.
If the transition is smooth, depends a lot on the lens and the settings as well as subject distance/distance difference. With the old and slow f/1.2 and huge subject separation I found that settings for af speed +1 to +5 track very well, as in the video, but if you want to pull focus with the touch screen, it feels like it does it in two steps if the subject is far away. With near subjects it does well. With other lenses, especially wide angles, it's not as prominent.
With different settings, like af speed -2 it does a very smooth focus transition, but it does it slowly. Also watch out to stay in the inner phase detection area, if you use the outer points, it does contrast detection with is neither fast, nor does it track well nor does it do smooth transitions.
Touch function in video has also been changed. If you are in manual focus and the magnification, it camera doesn't start recording if you hit the touch screen. With AF lenses it does instant AF, to start the recording via touch screen, you have to leave the magnification.
Auto ISO in video has been improved too. It's no longer 1/3 stop steps, but feels extremely smooth. 1/10 stops steps at least. 
 
That's just what I noticed in the first few minutes, there probably are a few more small changes. Overall it's a very nice update. 
 
edit: I now watched the video from Zed Pro Media. If the tracking sensitivity and af speed are set right, the 56mm tracks very well, as he shows. I can't say anything about the canon adapters, since I don't own any. The smooth Auto iso I can confirm. 
 

Here are my first screengrabs shooting on event with gx80+ vintage minolta set up. 
Lenses I used were 24mm 2.8 Tokina RMC and the 50mm 1.4 Minolta with lens turbo. Happy to say that they blended in quite well with each other, only for some shots I still remember which was which. 

The picture of the glasses was shot with the minolta, the other two were shot with the tokina which I got for 24 bucks ?

I believe the people in "these forums" are exactly the ones that will find them helpful.
At least these are in the right direction and people with no sound experience at all, can improve their sound.
I am a professional soundman for 19 years, and I know that my experience, education and expertise can't be simulated on a few presets, but there is a huge percentage of video makers outhere -amateurs, one man bands, photogrpahers turn to video, cameramen not willing to hire a sound man, ultra low budget productions - that could be benefited for those presets.
There is an increasing attitude in this and other forums, that even camera's internal mics are sufficient for sound, at least now they have a few presets to back up their claims!
For the price, I see a lot of people invested on them. 

Blackmagic were at the Media Production Show in London today. They didnt have any Pocket 4k's on display but they told me they are still expecting a September release.

I am actually looking forward to a 3-way review face-off between these drones. They all are within the 1k price bracket, with 4k video and a few othwr tricks up their sleeve. Dynamic Range and video quality, ease of flight, flight time etc will be the governing factors I guess.

My only critique would be to slow the pan up to sell the transition of time.

The next version of Mavic Pro will have 1/1.7" sensor which is bigger than the current 1/2.3" but still much smaller vs 1", guess 1" is too big (or power hungry) even for rumored bigger size for Mavic Pro 2, hence I bought a P4A on special (few hundred dollars off + further 10% discount) recently, the image quality totally blow my Mavic pro away!

Lenses to go with the BMPCC4k needs a new thread. This is something I'd follow.

And the large depth of field from the small sensor is an absolute boon when you need to keep the background magic trick in focus.
 

Well I just got my Apple iPhone 10, 256 GB back from my son for good. I have not taken anything yet, but the spec on it are pretty amazing to be honest. Now that they have dual camera, and hell 4K 60p, stabilization, DoF defocus, I don't see why with a good 3rd party App, why you can't make something worth happening. Maybe not a Blockbuster movie, but a pretty damn good output surely is possible with the skill a lot of people on here have.
It has to be more fun than dragging out a Arri Alexa setup LoL. That new DJI phone Gimbal for 199 bucks looks damn good. I am going to look into it in a few days. Like they say you always have it with you. Would make at least a hell of a good B Roll camera.
