I used clearzoom few times and most of the time it sucks balls, result is too soft/pixelated when mix the footage with another one with proper zoom on another angle in multiple cam setup during event/theater setup, ETC mode while gives you really good result without degrading sharpness except the increase in noise at lower light environment, though both wont offer you the same bokeh as proper zoom.

I pre-orderd the Smallcage GH5, for $44.50 its no brainer, and handle works well with the XLR adapter which all other cage miss it.

Nice color and look really stable! cant get that smoothness with A7SII on Sigma 20mm 1.4 handheld.. still too choppy

Looks like there is new version of 5d iv with improved heatsink coming, guess older 5d IV won't be able to handle new improved firmware well due to heat issue? Anyway 5d doesn't have ibis which means for some still deal breaker, I hardly use my monopod with ibis machines which gives me much more freedom. Goodnews to some my friends who got iv mainly for still, maybe they can branch out video for real lol

The MC one is like $40~60, always go for coated filter! I think the $25 you saw is non-MC version. I got the genus eclipse before which I gladly get rid of it after I got the Zomei one, I got some footage ruined by reflection on Genus with their non-coating VND.

SLRMagic VND is pretty nice, I got Zomei VND with MC coating and it is nice too, no more ghosting/reflection from lightsource vs uncoated VND.

Panasonic: We will accelerate the LUMIX project under new structure
ntblowz replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Hopefully they can come up with AG200 at similar price as FS5 - Super 35mm in MFT mount (JVC can do it, why not Panasonic?) I'd get it instantly. I already given Sony a try for a year and half and is coming back to Panasonic this year! (bought A6300, A7RII, A7S and FS5), I just dont feel it when I shoot with Sony machine -
Why wait? Just buy it if needed, and not based on want

I think he forgot an extra 0 at end

As long it makes me good amount of money who cares, my hobby is else where now that video is my profession, doing video everyday vs once or twice a week, you tend to feel numb eventually..

http://www.panasonic.com/global/corporate/ir/pdf/panasonic_ar2016_e.pdf On page 67 it said mirrorless sales increased, so most likely the dc will get the boot but not mirrorless camera

Most canon videographer I know jumped to A7SII after 5DIV comes out last year.. no turning back from them at all!

AMD RYZEN brings high performance 4K video editing to the masses on a budget
ntblowz replied to LimitBreak's topic in Cameras
And this is just the beginning, with more software optimization down the road the difference will be even bigger -
So in 120p it is 1.71X crop and 30P 4K is 1.85x crop? That like gh1/2 level of crop!

http://mirrorlesscomparison.com/micro-four-thirds-lenses/pana-leica-12-60mm-f2-8-4-0-vs-olympus-m-zuiko-12-40mm-f2-8/ I got 12-40mm at end because : manual clutch focus, unlike 12mm 2.0's stepping focus this one is smooth, good for follow focusing, and constant F2.8 is needed for indoor. Also oly 12-40mm @ 12mm is a bit wider than 12-60 @ 12

Maybe its time to ditch my i7 and GTX1060, going all AMD this year! (Ryzen + VEGA combo) Sick of seeing my 4core i7 is still relevant after all this years and 8 core Intel setup is still waay over priced (cpu + mobo is too high priced) 8core cpu at only 65W is massive! Intel 8core is pretty power hungry at 140w! Quicksync is irrelevant IMHO, doesn't care since my GTX1060 does big improvment over my old GTX660 on rendering time, 8c16t >>>>>>4c8t any time of the day, especially on vfx heavy projects -
I got the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 for good macro and working manual clutch focus (unlike stepping focus on the 12mm) sure I loss the dual IS but these two functions are really important too Having said that most of my lens are all Panasonic, though I will be getting Sigma 18-35 1.8 at some point later

Moral of the story is buy locally? Panasonic and Olympus service in NZ is not bad, (I sent gh4 in for ripped micro hdmi connector and got it back in reasonable time), I have a send a few Olympus cameras and got back in a week, sure they are more expensive but you get peace of mind and quick turnaround compare to sending to overseas.

it all grouped under AVC as whole division, as long they turn profit as whole it will go on, FYI the latest result is 41 billion yen in profit for AVC division for the 9 month result, compare to massive 29billion loss on Nikon, Sony only turn in 21 billion profit for their Image division

If you look at financial report of the Panasonic AVC division their profit and sales still goes up even with heavy bombardment from Sony new releases, financial wise they are healthy so wont be going anywhere soon.

M43 is not going down at all, I heard this years after years and yet M43 is still dominate sales in Japan while Sony with its glorious A7 series is losing sale to crappy EOS M, same for P&S market , as some Chinese companies have joined M43 this still have plenty of life ahead, open standard is the way to go! (look at smartphones, Chinese brands are catching up, while Japanese phone is irrelevant now, not long ago they were considered super advance), look at drone market, currently only M43 is available as integrated drone system.. look at action cam, only M43 have presence, which are all made by Chinese companies. I still see many Oly user upgrading to e-m1mkii rather than to other systems... so royalty is still there, financial report from Oly and Pana is very healthy unlike Nikon

Here in NZ you can buy used A7S for NZD$1400 2nd hand, there was a few a7s sold for $1500, dunno why but A7II still hold value steady while a7s took a tumble Here in NZ you can buy used A7S for NZD$1400 2nd hand, there was a few a7s sold for $1500, dunno why but A7II still hold value steady while a7s took a tumble
