  1. I'd also like to see more accessible global shutter cams.

  2. Let's step away from the 16 stops, 12800iso $3k cameras for a while and think about what you realistically expect and would like to see at NAB 2015? Top of my list is probably a Ninja Star 2 that can record 4K ProRes. I think it is quite likely and will make the current/next generation of 4K HDMI cams really sing, without the need for a large monitor/recorder, which is not always ideal for certain shooting types. I would also like to see Olympus style image stabilisation in one of the larger cameras (C300 mkII type). What is on your reasonable wishlist?

  3. Not strictly video related, but I was stunned by this: http://***URL removed***/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr144_0=samsung_nx1&attr144_1=nikon_d750&attr144_2=nikon_d5500&attr144_3=sony_a7_ii&attr146_0=100_6&attr146_1=100_6&attr146_2=100_6&attr146_3=100_6&normalization=print&widget=212&x=-0.6624118121908348&y=-0.9768417588491292 Imo the nx1 is well ahead of others, when ev is pushed ahead. The incredible thing is that nx1 fares much better when pushing iso 100 ahead of 6ev, then in its iso 6400 mode! What do you think?

  4. it's even worse than that. She has to turn around to follow the camera so at times she has her back to the audience. I guess the priority is the tv audience.

  5. It's funny, without all of the glitter and camera moves it's just a girl singing stationary on the stage. Pretty boring to watch live I would assume.

  6. Two things I really want...... * Blackmagic Pocket Camera in 4k with at least 48fps in 1080p, even if it's only 30 second bursts it would be greatly appreciated *Sony A7s II incorporating new in body stabilization + tweaks over their first camera

  7. For the GH4, I'd also love to see 4:3 mode capable of 23.976 and 24fps, as well as keeping the HDMI output active. Also, if they could somehow manage to record 10bit internally, but i'm sure that's a long shot.

  8. This 'rumoured' GH4 update. Ninja Star 2 4K As I'm looking at a "Cinema Camera" in the next 12 months, I'm very interested in the Panasonic AF200 that is meant to be coming out. Plus some lenses for that camera. I'm interested, though expect it'll be massively out of my price range, the C300 MKII. I'd love Canon to firmware unlock 4K out via HDMI on the C100 MKII, not gonna happen though. Possible 5DC as well? Software wise, as a FCPX user, a big update to that software. Again rumours are something is coming around NAB even though Apple don't do NAB itself.

  9. My idea is that the algorithms in nx1 could be further enhanced by samsung. From the link I shared in another thread, it is evident how in stills, iso 100 pushed ahead of 6 stops is better than internal iso 6400 on nx1. Hence there is a potential dr in the raw image captured by the sensor at base iso which is NOT achieved either in internal high iso raw, or in encoded video.

  10. Something new from BlackMagic. A 4k Pocket Camera?

  11. I edit about 2 music videos a week on FCPX and it's absolutely awesome. It syncs all the clips together, then you get a very fluid and intuitive multi-cam to choose the best angles. I've always thought they should rename FCPX "Final Cut Pro Music Video Editor", that program is made for it. It's easily the best tool for the job. The he only downside to the fantastic performance of the auto-sync is that it doesn't like non-native files imported straight from the camera card, like .MTS and .MXF files. It totally fucks up. Better transcoding first and importing the clips after if not shooting ProRes or H264. There is still this bitter image of FCPX in the minds of many people. It's been out for nearly 4 years. It's great now. Time to wake up!!!

  13. It's resolution may not be on par with the GH4, but the image seems much nicer. But the the $6500 doesn't really seem like a bargain as much as it just seems like closer to a sensible price.
