I’ll preface this by saying that that is some spec and it will likely be a very decent camera.
    However….
A smaller sensor inside a smaller body with smaller lenses at a smaller price was the whole raison d’etre of the Micro Four Thirds system.
The clue was right there in the name.
Panasonic seems to have looked what BMW has done since it acquired the Mini and thought “yeah, that’s the path for us too”.
In a world where their own full frame S5ii exists, let alone the compact APS-C feature laden cameras from all the other manufacturers, I don’t get where they are coming from with their latter day MFT releases and, in my opinion, they have completely lost their way with the system, particularly in terms of attracting new adopters.
Even for the old guard, you’d have to be pretty attached to that native lens collection to go in again.
Panasonic seem to have a borderline kinky reluctance to refresh the two cameras that would actually cause a resurgence in the ideology of the system as well as sales.
Namely, the GX80 and the LX100.
Putting a mic jack on them and giving them 10 bit 4:2:2 internal and VLOG would be a piece of piss for Panasonic and they could sell them all day long at their equivalent launch prices.
They might have to push the boat out and put IBIS in the LX but I don’t even think that is a deal breaker.
I’m at loss to where they are getting their market research from that’s telling them there is. Bigger demand for small sensor cameras in large sensor bodies at large sensor prices.

My Ulanzi fan just arrived. Must admit, is a cute little thing - all metal, bright little display, and the flow generated is more than I expected.

And the two questions I have about it were solved:
    - The suction cups will really stick to the back of the cameras? It came with two adhesive stick that you put on the back of the camera, and the suction cups will adhere to that.
    - How it measure the camera temperatue? There is a sensor in the bacl (looks like a infrared one) to mesure the surface temperature.

Will try to do some teste when I have some spare time.

99% of GoPro users are skiers, skaters or drummers. Most of them don't even know what Super 8 is!

Sony's Cinetone-S is not the only OOC pseudo-cinema look. This camera has a dozen.
This camera also has a real built-in ND filter, cinema aspect-ratio LCD guidelines, external mic jack, manual control of audio, wind protector attachments and a cage available. No IBIS-distorting stabilization, just like real cinema cameras. LCD red border tally for live recording.

I've read several reviews and I don't see sign for an hardware upgrade. GPS could be just shut-off and BT audio could be a new functionality on top of existing BT chipset capabilities.
    We'll see

And so one feels like searching for the Naiads, beautiful and immortal freshwater nymphs that disturb the spirit of those who catch a glimpse of them emerging from the waters. Beliefs that embody the ambiguous feeling of fear and attraction to the waters.
So far no Naiads and Nereids but only many sticklebacks!
GH5MII and GH5S, various lens, natural light

G9 II for sure. With PDAF, will be an interesting camera - unfortunately, not for me anymore.

(if it was a GX10, yeah, I would be tempted)

Probably the most underwhelming release in gpro history.
This should have been a free firmware. Ripping off customers…
Gopro really needs a new leadership.

Bluetooth audio, likely not possible by a firmware upgrade. Not saying that is important or not important.
Took out GPS - also not possible with firmware downgrade. 😆

That's an interesting product.  Obviously you'd have to rig it up by adding a recorder, power solution, and some sort of control setup, but it's not too far off the "Blackmagic Box Camera" that so many people online seem to want.
Depending on what controls are available, for example if there's a handle with these things integrated, then maybe paired with a recorder that can deliver power out, it might be a small setup.
I'd also hazard a guess that as it's aimed at drones etc it might have more effective thermal management as the old logic of "just buy a proper cinema camera" doesn't really work.

From rumors on new features it could be even a FW optimization only.
Yet to understand why they opted for a new GP release. But I also know that everyone is now a slave to this hellish rush to a new action cam every year.

On a side note about overheating.
On a underwater photo/video forum people were wondering about a underwater housing for the new ZV-E1. A user posted:
Anyone ever test the camera in warm water with either Nauticam or Ikelite housings? My a7siii & A74 overheat in video mode in about 10-15" using an Ikelite housing in >80º F waters.
Ikelite housings are made of Acrilic while other brands prefers aluminium with completely different results but you get the picture. It's like closing a toaster in a sealed plastic box.

..the real problem with these is going to be the severe overheating. A7IV already overheats in a full size Alpha body, these will toast faster than white bread.

Good to hear that there are still people willing to go very in-depth in such nerdy topics.
Yesterday, I tried asking ChatGPT about the notion of equivalencies, a hot topic on forums. It failed miserably. I asked for a MFT equivalent of shooting my grandmother's 1936 Rolliecord. I know the "rough" answer, but ChatGPT kept making mathematical mistakes. I have to say I'm super impressed with it though. As an English teacher, it's a tremendous tool. For filmmakers, it's great too.
My point with my post was to say that Forums could get eaten up by such services if the forum is mainly used for "help in learning". AI seems to be better, faster, and have fewer barriers to getting decent responses. Also, I've only been using the free version. The paid version is better, I'm sure.

1- the rate of decline in engagement in all of the photo/video forums and websites is depressing. Even comment sections are mini ghost towns compared to same place ten years ago. Maybe social media is stealing a lot of that free time usually spent on traditional web in the past.
2- many of those people who could write informative blog posts are now like "why bother writting any more when no one reads any more?". Today they're making videos, and try hard to make it 10 min long, which means they have to add a lot of water to the milk.
3- I don't see any other industry with so much negativity about the major brands of that industry. Telling people they don't need and shouldn't buy new released products is a norm in our corner of internet fora! There is hype moments before and after press release days, but overall discouragement is way bigger. But look at car enthusiasts or audiophiles online communities...They're constantly encourage each other to buy more!
4- lack of communication between experienced users and newcomers is hurting everyone, and sometimes it's sad. Many people who are upgrading from smartphone, are making mistakes related to misunderstandings that discussed and explained and solved seven years ago. They just don't know where to find the knowledge.
5-  a tendency to reduce everything to "matter of taste" has emerged to the point that the whole concept of critique apears as moot point, like there is no wrong way and right way of doing things!

Maybe its overthinking. I don't know.. just wanted to share my thoughts.
