We write the file headers/close the file every 5 secs during record, our cameras since the BMCC have always periodically written the headers/closed the file so at most if you lose power you might lose the last 5 secs of the clip. If you lose power before 5 secs of recording, then it could be an issue.

Used the Nikon 50mm 1.8 pancake version. This is the non E version multi coated. I am really happy with it, quite sharp wide open. Also used the Tokina 17mm 3.4, which I also really love. Its super wide but doesn't look funky at least not to me. The one I got ended up being in really good shape(super surprised).

I also dropped the 50mm down a wooden staircase right after I unwrapped it from the package lol. Seems to be fine though. The seller said it had fungus on the rear element, tho I can't see any signs of it.

On another note I've never shot with Fuji monochrome, its really beautiful.

After you have delivered the Sock Puppet short to Kye’s desk...
I want a three minute short called “My Town” posted here by next weekend. You don’t need a set or actors or a planned story - it’s all happening out there. Be a director and tell us your story about your town. You decide how to edit and cut - fast paced or slow. Day or night? Handheld or tripod?
Get music from Eric’s site soundimage.org.
    Improvise. Create. Direct.
Think of this not as some stupid suggestion on an Internet forum (which it obviously is) but as a commission - your first - so try to show off your talent. Who knows if you do it, someone might take notice and the first career building brick might slip into place.

they can be hilarious, i can still remember back about six years ago, a couple of blokes did a skit with sock puppets. not a lot of expense just some cardboard boxes roughly painted to set the scene, some vocals and a lot of hand gesturing plus an imaginative audience was a good evening of entertainment. if you need inspiration just look at the Muppets they have done pretty well for themselves.
englands got talent had a dude that did a skit with sock puppets and a song that was pretty funny i think he was called tapemouth or tapface i forget

    pretty much what snowfun said...
rome wasn't built in a day. its going to take time, persistence, a large dollop of self belief and if you post anything online, a very thick skin as there's  a lot of criticism out there, not much of it is constructive. its nice to be young and exuberant but that exuberance needs to be seasoned with experience,  like any job anywhere in the world. not sure if a film school teaches directing as a part of the course. not even sure of the normal path one would take to become a director even if you lived in hollywood to be honest. some talented people get sponsored to attend schools to learn stuff but you would need a portfolio of work to do that. Casey Neistat is a pretty popular blogger, while blogging isn't exactly the same as directing, being a popular blogger has certainly opened some doors for him, so i think the principal still applies do something well and people will notice. i think your holding  yourself back by thinking that you only have a 2011 Canon T2i for film making. i rather you develop the mindset that while you only have a canon t2i its going to be the best damn footage anyone has ever seen from that camera. can you put magic lantern on a t2i that might allow you to shoot raw, even if you could only shoot ten seconds of raw thats like a long time in a music video or a rodeo ride on a bucking bull.  i think you need to become like the towns goto man when comes to video it will be hard work  and feel like working three jobs for not a lot of reward at times but if your any good and persist you might just live out your dreams perhaps. just a my 2 cents worth
edit :  definitely have fun. having a job that is enjoyable is like a double bonus  no matter what you do (well....exempting serial killers of course)

Each one covers a steadily larger front element.  The 40 covers lenses with 52mm filters. 50 covers I believe 62mm, the 65mm covers 105mm filter. I think. As you go up they cover wider glass and are increased quality. I would not get the 40, it's pretty poor image quality.

The smaller the front element of the taking lens, the better.

    Sounds close to correct.
I use the smallest extension tube and then a spacer (O-ring) I made out of some thin plastic cutting board. Titos method of putting wire in-between is pretty ghetto and unexact IMO. You can wrap some tape around it afterwards to stop the lens spinning (it kind of turns even when tight).

damn you get some serious height from that kite and i like that board with the winged keel that allows you to plane on the water that was cool i thought. the crashes were a  nice touch except where that guy hit that beam everyone was jumping off, i felt that from here..  ouch.. i dont really enjoy watching stuff where people are hurt but if they can walk or swim away thats ok (hope that makes some sense )  looks like someone won a few trophies :) . personally for me i would have likes to see a few more road signs if on a road trip as i like to know where we are going, in your short  those road signs just fly by but thats just me perhaps

of no particular audio importance probably  just throwing some ideas out there you could try the local electronics mall for a darth vader voice thingy i have an idea they can be adjusted somewhat. i also have noticed some popular songs seem to have the vocals that turn into musical notes some how, no idea how its done. i remember a pink floyd song where the lead singer had some sort of wind pipe instrument taped to his mic which did some weird things to his voice as he sang. probably all abit extreme for your requirements but thats all i can offer. anyone one with some experience with those musical looping machines ? they do some interesting things as well. ironman... er  ironfilms should be your goto man here his knowledge should be vast
edit: by the way if your going to start wearing masks, i dont want to meet up with you in any dark alleys late at night ?

no idea what you lot are getting worked up about
oscar's (Astronotus ocellatus) is a species of fish from the cichlid family known under a variety of common names
there is some similarity between oscars and humans  as you can see  1) some always have their mouth open.  2) some are dazzling to look at others not so dazzling 3 ) take either out of their natural environment and they flop around and gasp for air.

the boss bought the cnc for a high rise job that we had started, it was called q1 for awhile it was the tallest residential high rise in australia it literally ran 20-24 hours a day for nearly two years i think. i would load it up in the afternoon, even at night some times start it up and go home. come back the next morning and unload it. it even had a modem built in and was meant to ring a number when it was finished but that aspect never worked. it was pretty damn impressive, a few time it was my fault or another operators fault and occasionally it had its own   issues....  i did feel bad when i screwed up, but i  am confident that i made him more money than i cost him, i still work there part time whenever their busy i go down and do a couple of days work. they recently added a water jet, so i am keen to go and learn that as i have a couple of ideas for my anamorphic lens project that i want to try out :)

no i work for a stone company,  we did all the foyers, lifts, everything that was clad in stone. the kitchen sink cutouts and hot plate cutouts and  the vanity bowl cutouts and the polishing of the undermount sinks and vanities was all done on a cnc i usually set up two kitchens or 4 vanities at a time. the highrise layout was the same for each floor. so you just doing alot of repetition something machines are great at. the lengths of kitchen bench tops and vanities were oversize by 100 mm and cut to size either at a later stage or on site.
hey kaylee i didn't build that... honest, if i did it would have fallen down faster and not as straight ?

I used to be an IT technician for a small organisation with a modest IT budget, so we used to try and solve problems ourselves.  We'd often clean keyboards, printers, and other hardware when they went a bit funny because often a good clean can get something back to working well.
What was quite common was when me and the boss would pull apart a laser printer or something, there were almost always parts left over.  Sometimes they were parts where both of us would look at them and think "I've never seen that thing before in my life!".  Funnily enough we never pulled something apart and had it not work again because we stuffed it up - everything always came good.
I think they just put spare parts in there so that there will always be parts left over and you'll be less likely to try and service things yourself next time

i killed a $250000 cnc machine once, work didn't like paying for the service guy to maintain the machine and he wasn't always as  prompt as the boss would have liked. the service guys wife was dying from cancer at the time and he was a genuinely nice guy, i dont hold him responsible for being less than prompt in attendance.  i had the aptitude for running it so i was one of three instructed on running it the two others left at some point and i ended up doing repairs as required. when i had an issue that hadn't arisen before i would ring him and he would sort me out over the phone most times. one time i got myself in over my head. this machine was dos based and i inadvertently deleted some files that were linked to the start up if i remember correctly the machine was dead for about a week and it took 3 days for the service guy to reinstall everything and get various things talking to each other again . i wasn't popular for awhile. still we all human mistakes happen the trick is not to have them happen often

that is pretty hard core !!  i usually wait till the camera is well out of warranty and others have trod the path before me  . i pulled my nikon 950 apart to a similar degree to remove the hot mirror.  got it all back together had one tiny little screw left over  ? . been considering doing the same thing to my gopro to replace the lens with a less wide angle. still considering the swap, that and other lens acquisitions keep getting in the way. before and after photos from the camera with the hot mirror removed and 720 ir filter i think

i know where your coming from, i did something like that after i first joined i made a comment at the time in the bmp4k forum i think.  it seemed innocent enough to me, however even the great john brawley dropped by with a its not cool to go chucking hand grenades around in the forum . which wasn't my intention at all. so i think i learned a lesson or maybe about 3/4 of a lesson.  i'm not suggesting that we flame a person to hell at a moments notice,  i'm suggesting that a that seems odd !! proceed with caution sort of message be raised. if i inadvertently click on a link that one would think leads to a camera review but ends up at casino portal. then i am happy to post, hey guys this is spam it doesn't link to what you think it is. one person will end up at a wong location but a little warning will stop the rest of us making the same mistake that is all .
i also am with ironfilm suspect posts do stand out a bit after your been around awhile but those with english as a second language may miss the subtleties. most times i come in pretty late to a conversation anyway, that might be some of the lesson i learned earlier or my time zone perhaps.
