My Z7 just doesn't do that to skin tones on the default settings.
You'd think I'd notice if someone was BART SIMPSON.
And anyway, 90% of people do not use the default settings. They set up the camera correctly according to the shot. Give people some credit.

    Best MILC construction.

"This is not marketing department weather resistance. This is engineering department weather resistance. Anything that can be sealed has been sealed. I’m impressed, and I will say for future cut-and-paste blurbs: this is as robustly weather sealed a camera as we’ve ever disassembled.
I don’t believe in weather resistance myself. I believe like life; water will find a way. I believe in plastic baggies and rubber bands. I am, however, a great believer in the idea that if you claim to do something, then damn well do it right. This is done right.
I’m impressed by the very solid construction of the chassis and IBIS unit. I’m impressed with the neat, modern engineering of the electrical connections. Yes, I’m aware that soldered wires carry electricity, but to me, there’s something reassuring about seeing neat, well thought out, 2018 level engineering.
I’m not here to tell you which camera is best to use or has the best performance. I’m just here to say this is a damn well-built camera, the best built mirrorless full-frame camera we’ve taken apart. (For the record, I haven’t torn down a Leica SL.)"

Would love a future setup where one could use the Mac Mini, with keyboard and mouse and the iPad Pro as screen.
Can’t wait for the day when I can switch to using an iPad as my main computer. Right now it feels like the inability to use external hard drives is the main hindrance.

I’m sorry Andrew, but the tone in your post is aggressive and reads like something I’d expect from the Sun or the Daily Mail. I spent many years living in the UK and am heartbroken about Brexit.
And yet I am not surprised, your post displays exactly why Brexit happened. Just as so many others in the UK you’re using the EU to project your frustration rather than aim that anger at the politicians that have ravaged your country over the last three decades. The UK has the largest income differences in Europe and the poverty and decay is astounding. Somehow British politicians and media have managed to make the EU a villain rather than get their own shit together.
The UK is without a doubt the European country I’ve lived in (4 so far) where it’s the most difficult to photograph in public. By far.
Perhaps you could try and excercise a bit of trust rather than spew vitriol against the EU? You really think it’s that bad? Last I looked the EU is a very successful peace project that safeguards a continent ravaged by brutal wars for centuries.
So f-n tired of British people whining about bloody banana regulations or the EU interfering with winter savings time or whatever.
You should put some sources, links and context for your post. Then, perhaps it will have some semblance of credibility.
So many posts in this thread are nothing but depressing. Welcome to the outrage factory!

Not giving Angry Photographer any more views. It’s not fair to call him Trump because he is not manipulative in that way. But I can’t stand how he uses his channel to pour out unfiltered affect. There is no editorial labour put in whatsoever, just long rant sessions that are constantly contradicting each other. It reminds me of going into a bar and hearing bitter old men ranting about whichever subject without a trace of criticality, just a means to vent ones own frustrations. The subject could be Muslims, the EU or, in his case, some camera. The subject is just a place to project and vent frustration. That such drivel is tolerated is why politics is like a South Park episode at the moment.

I think I might be becoming a Fuji fan. The XT3 is the first Fuji camera I have owned,  and I'm left wondering how they kept under my radar for so long. It's honestly one of the most fun to shoot cameras I have ever used. So much so that I don't care about any of the upcoming cameras... they don't excite me.  That might change as more details come out, but for now I'm curious what the XH2 will bring,  while the new medium format beast... the GFX-100 sounds very interesting also.
I heard recently that Fuji have become the number two mirrorless brand worldwide. After seeing how aggressive they are with the advancements in this newest offering,  I can't say I'm surprised.

Rumours sites aren't an authority on technical matters, they just identify second hand info and label it. That chipmod source just tells us the manufacturing process is Sony. Doesn't say the design is.
And made by Sony does not mean it's off the shelf Sony.
Nikon designed the sensor in the Z7, Sony fabricated it for mass production.
The sensor has Nikon IP and circuit layout, Nikon specification, Nikon micro lenses and other patented Nikon design aspects.
It has a Sony BSI manufacturing technique, on Sony mass production wafer, Sony quality control and made in numbers determined by Sony's manufacturing capacity at their factory, which isn't as high as Nikon would like because they have so many other customers. Nikon should diversify their manufacturers, but making a sensor like this is hard. You won't see a BSI sensor from Canon. It doesn't exist.

DPreview (Jordan Drake aside), Kai (without Lok), Tony & Chelsea, Fro etc.. are all general photography based channels. They don't really know/care about video stuff , beyond the basics..
The few video channels that exist are either biased to a system, or sponsored by camera stores / manufacturers (ie shills).
Not many independant, cross platform reviewers out there..aside from Andrew.
I thought his review of EOS R was rather balanced, was expecting him to just rip it to shreds honestly. But he gave it some credit where it was due.
..and indeed pointed out it's giant flaws for video, rightfully so. i wanna hear the good & the bad in a review. not just one side & not just the obvious stuff.
RS is a serious issue. Bigger issue then the crop factor imo. I'm only using 4K on EOS R for locked tripod shots, but if it weren't the case.. it would be basically unusable.
Anyways let's all take a deep breath, we're all in here with a common passion & these gear wars are getting out of hand..

Castorp got a reaction from frontfocus in FUJINON lenses questions, tips and tricks
I have the 23mm f2 and it’s fine. It’s super sharp. Some get hung up on that it’s not very sharp at f2 at close distance (within 1m), which I happen to like for portraits. At normal distances it’s very sharp even at f2.  If you need to get very close it’s very sharp at all distances at f4.
I find it a bit boring compared to the 35f2 and 50f2. All three were made for the X-Pro 2 and pair wonderfully with that cameras rangefinder.
I see it as a lens designed for travel and street photography. Stopped down it’s incredibly sharp. Way better than any cheap Canon or Nikon lens.
The 23mm has the fastest focus of any Fujinon I’ve tried, bar perhaps the 16-55. Silent. Weather sealed.

Disclaimer: I dont like or want rolling shutter. I love the motion from the videos I shot with the global shuttered D16 and BMPC4K.
A fun fact I've told many times before, still applies so here it goes again

One of the top, if not number one, TV shows in Sweden is a game show called "On the track" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/På_spåret).
Its a quite difficult show with questions about everything from food to sports in different geographical locations.
Its been going on since 1987 with an average of 2 million viewers and a peak of 3.7 million.

In 1990 when the record was set that accounted for 43% of the population. Remove those to young and/or to old and we get pretty much everybody.
Three times every show we get to watch an up speed train ride and the camera is filming from within the train. It goes on until the contenders guess where the train is heading. So every week 2 000 000 people watch bent poles, crooked houses and leaning towers, for at least ten episodes per year.
Never ever ever ever, not once, nope nope nope, no no not a single time have I or anybody I know ever heard anyone point it out or simply said "have you noticed the bent poles?"
Camera nerds like us of course see it but no one else cares even a little bit.
My point is, if a camera ticks all your boxes but has a flaw like aliasing, RS or a bit of noise in the shadows.
Then maybe its still good enough for your audience.

Imo it I rather have a camera I like with a bit of noise in the shadows than a camera I dont enjoy.

Seemed like a mixed bag. Some third party didn’t work at all (yet), some were almost as good, some worse. The Nikkor 105 f1.4 and 85mm 1.4 performed basically the same.
Its worth noting that he’s comparing it to one of the fastest AF cameras on the planet. I wish he would have included a Z lens as a baseline for the Z7. Also wonder how it would compare to older cameras like the D800/D700/D610 et c.
Mirrorless has come a long way to even be comparable to a new DSLR. Still some ways to go.

The problem with Jon is he clearly has zero interest in EOS R (or Nikon Z, XT3, P4K etc). His only purpose in these threads is to point out the cameras limitations ad eternum & try and prove how superior his own camera is (currently A7III, formerly GH5). He isn't the only member using such tactics.. they exist on every gear forum, but often times it gets quite snarky, borderline troll.. and threads get derailed like this one right now.. again.

The Z7 is in stock here. They are few at the time but at least one store per day seems to have one or two. The Z6 might be more popular though. But we have also had no shortage of the D850. How is the Nikon distribution situation in Asia, Australia, Africa, etc? Anyone with local knowledge?
The Nikon distribution is a bit of a mystery. Even the rumor sites haven't been able to get an answer to why the US didn't get a decent stock of the D850.
