It was shot with the G80 with Olympus 17mm f1.8. Can't remember the exposure right now but it would likely be something like f1.8, 1/60th, iso 1600.  There are some other lenses on the GX80 tested at the end of this video I made a while ago
The issue is usually most apparent at higher apertures like f4 and above. I have found no way to mitigate it in my 5 years of shooting with m43, other than to edit it in post. It can also be a little difficult to predict when the problem will occur.
(Sorry for derailing this thread btw)

More IBIS examples. It looks pretty good. I still want to see some panning with IBIS and a gimbal to see if has the same issues that the A6500 sometimes exhibits.

Never seen this product before, as it is a brand brand new product that isn't shipping yet. But as a Marantz it should be worth checking out.
Has a low low price of US$399
2.4 GHz Digital Transmitter (like RodeLink, no need to worry about what frequencies are legal)
All info on the top, which is nice. But perhaps my favorite feature: "Receiver Can Pair to Two Transmitters". Handy!
Annoyingly the input is a 4 pin XLR, which doesn't match up with any transmitters I own currently.
Unfortunately it is not shipping yet, and there are no reviews of it online, but it looks like a product to keep an eye on!

Yes, but if you've done the development around a new sensor, it makes sense to leverage that and reuse it in another product. So I'd give decent odds that could be happening?

I think Red needs to do this. You can see the writing on the wall. Sony 4k or Nikon 4k or Canon 4k small bodies, with IBIS and AF will take over the market. How long before we're talking about Sony 4k 120P? remember a 120P 4K camera can theoretically combine two images at different exposures giving you a 60P but with a Arri level of highlight rolloff.
So the reason you see Red is doing mobile or doing a consumer-style 8K video, is because THEY HAVE TO, or they will be out of business.

They can do a 8K consumer video camera and at the same time still do a pro-level camera with all the XLR, etc. connection. But have much higher margins on the pro camera and distribute their R&D cost with their consumer stuff.

salim got a reaction from BenEricson in Anyone Recommend a Variable ND Filter
I was also in the market for a variND filter and decided to go with a set of fixed ND filters.
Variable ND is a basically two (non-circular) polarizers on top of each other.  My reasoning for not getting a variable ND was the following:
1 - chance of accidentally changing the ND strength.
2 - not vary accurate ND strength value marking.
3 - making it difficult matching two different shots from different cameras if I ever wanted to have a B-cam

At the end having bunch of NDs is going to take more space and it's more work ( @DaveAltizer - h/t for XUME) and more expensive. But it'll provide better image quality, and more repeatability and lower chances of accidental exposure changes in middle of a shot.

I would recommend against Vari ND and get a nice Tiffen ND kit with XUME magnetic filter adapters.
I have this same kit and using the magnets are a breeze!
Vari ND is always terrible because it takes the natural reflections out of people’s skin tones. Not to mention the price you pay for one with minimal image shift. Also Vari ND vignettes really easily. But mostly the reason I don’t use them is the way people look with them. It’s two polarizers put together so it’s going to remove those reflections.

If there’s already an X-H1 thread let me know. I did a quick search and didn’t see one.
I for one am really excited about this camera. Here are the rumored specs from Fujirumors:
    -Better AF than XT2
-IBIS that can work with OIS as well for dual IS.
-Same sensor as XT2 with same slight crop on the sensor in 4K
    -Internal F-Log
-Phase Detect AF in video! (Hopefully with face tracking enabled in 4K!)
    -Top LCD
    -Internal 8bit 4:2:0 4K
-Headphone Jack in body instead of on grip.
    February 15th
IBIS alone is enough reason to get me excited about this camera. Not to mention the incredible color science and phase detect AF!! And all the incredible native lenses too. Really awesome. What do you guys think?

The only hope for this happening is if Samsung decides it is a good idea to do a limited release to showcase the power of the Samsung processor, purely as a promotional tool to promote Samsung smartphone sales!

An unlikely but not impossible scenario.

You know when Samsung exited the ILC market, I thought it was a precursor to teaming up with either Nikon or Canon. In my view Sony enjoys a competitive advantage in cameras because it is an electronics company in a business where cameras are rapidly turning into electronics products (a bit like telephones). And Samsung has shown (and certainly has the tech) that it is the one company that can easily out Sony, Sony.
I still think that say a Samsung/Nikon partnership makes so much sense. Samsung would bring Nikon all the bleeding edge sensor, sensor af, processing and Nikon would bring its optics, camera infrastructure and commitment. The NX1 showed that even with the best tech in the world, Samsung couldnt make a meaningful (and especially meaningful to a company as large as Samsung) dent in the market.

The details is what gives it a small amount of plausibility.
I  believe the new chip is for their next smart phone designed to go after, iphoneX, but reusing it for other product lines might just make sense.
    There are many factor involved:
From one side, re-introducing their DSLR camera line makes no sense. Especially within the corporate politics. It's hard to tell your team why you need to close something and then have someone inside the team try to resurrect.
There is also their brand. It's hard to convince users to buy their product line only to later drop the product without any further update, support or lens lines.
Then there is the other argument. Samsung already has the body, they have the basic lens mount and setup, they have the basic OS to operate a camera. So internal cost of developing it, once there is an all encompassing chip to handle it all, might be reasonable, even as a pet project. Perhaps someone argued internally, having a DSLR using their chip might help improve their video on galaxy or even perhaps be used as a marketing vehicle. "The new Galaxy uses the same chip that runs the most advance digital SLR". This might have been the internal way to have gotten the green-light on this.

I see your point with this. Yes, there are niche users like Andrew and others here, who like the NX1. But for other users, the possibility of investing on something that might once again face a dead-end is a no go. So because of that, I think Samsung will have an uphill battle to get large enough buyers to buy this, for it to be justifiable.

With Canon and Nikon lining up with their mirrorless camera, and Sony having a huge lead, I just don't see Samsung doing this, unless they can justify a secondary benefit to another product vertical.

    This.
And I'm betting all this chatter is just R&D for future Galaxy phones.
Samsung isn't about to re-enter the same space they abandoned a couple years ago with little/no chance of turning a profit. Even if they could reach 10% market share - which would take years, that's still only a few hundred thousand units. Sony is killing it with high price/high margin bodies and lenses - but they also make sensors for most of the other camera manufacturers, which is why they're so far ahead of Canon in most respects - the costs of sensor development doesn't have to be recouped by selling cameras. Samsung can't just drop a $3,000 body and a few $2,000 lenses and instantly become a big player. Nor can they release a NX2 - or whatever you want to call it - and resurrect the old lenses to say "we're back", too many will ignore them because of their past. Casual photographers will still buy plastic Canon Rebels because that's a name they know. Outside of gear heads chasing the spec, it would be a complete flop.

Lots of convincing detail in the rumors post. USB C with DisplayPort enabled for 4K video output is a good idea, for instance. The gyro shutter thing is interesting.
I have no idea if real or not but one thing that strikes me as strange is that the NX1 is was never based around one chip (like the Exynos) and instead had lots of different custom hardware, dealing with separate tasks, like AF tracking, video encoding, etc. So not sure if building a prototype around one chip even makes sense with NX1 architecture the way it is (or was).
Also to develop a brand new sensor for a prototype seems like an expensive thing to do if they have no intention on releasing it.
Would be amazing if Samsung made an NX2 as a tent-pole of some kind to say to the world - look what we can do in cameras, now buy our S9 for a taste of the same specs.

Say a person has two wireless, but they know say 10% of the time they'll need three yet don't have the budget for that third one.... then until they can afford a third wireless a Tascam DR10L or Zoom F1 could be a good stop gap measure for them.

They actually lowered the lens brightness from f2.2 on the Mavic Pro to f2.8 on the Mavic air. So it gets 3/4th of a stop less light that the Mavic Pro (I hope those are the correct figures).
The slightly under-exposed videos were mildly apparent.
Apart from that, it seems way better than the Mavic Pro and the Spark, for the buck.

I know people have relaced the broken Mavic Pro lens, which has requires a little effort because 2 screws and one electrical connection point are involved. I wonder if the Mavic Pro lens could be fitted on the Mavic Air.
