Finally! Lets hope you can turn sharpening and noise reduction all they way off!
I also wounder what 1 inch sensor are they using? Is it imx989? 4k120 in such a small body over 1inch sensor would be a challenge.

So, the fact that BM joined L-mount makes me hopefull. DJI is rumored to produce an L-mount camera too which alltogeether will strengthen the alliance.. but this camera is not really ground breaking or anything like that. Form factor is meh, no NDs, no PDAF, frame rates are average. I can forgive it not having an IBIS as it has a very capable Gyro IS which you can apply in Resolve. But overall thats a postive move for all L-mount users.
Eager to see what DJI cooks up. Those guys dont beat around the bush and deliver a banger straight away. A fresh take of their Ronin 4D in a camera form factor striped of a gimbal would be bonkers.

180 Mbs HEVC, 5.3K 60p, 10bit color, wide gamut, but all transformed to 8bit REC709. This was mainly a test of some guy's LUT to see the colors.
Do you SEE mush? Does this LOOK bit-starved, even though it has gone through YouTube compression (another high efficiency codec) at a much lower bitrate? And, the video was cropped in camera to reduce fisheye distortion.
I think there are people who are not up to date on what modern codecs/processors can do, perhaps because they have not used any newer cameras they comment on. They rest on their decades-old film school habits. Now they just read or, in some cases, misread selective specs (bitrates).
Yes, bitrate matters, but so does the codec. Which is not news to just about anyone, just about anyone.
I have shot the highest bitrate real RAW video, and I find it hard to distinguish the quality from much, much lower bitrate H265 video, recorded in the latest cameras, at least in terms of resolution (lack of mush).
Codecs, codecs, codecs. And processors that can execute them, all advanced enormously in the last few years. Everyone needs to keep up.
And, no, the Hero11 video quality is not as good as the latest ARRI. But it's not chopped liver either.

Listen, guys. I love my A7S3. Yes I would love to have new dynamic stab, and better AF. I also would want a new video oriented clean on-screen menu layout, but I can live without it. The camera still rocks. The problem is not about it beeing crucial feautures, its the attitude to the community, to us, its customurs. And this attitude stinks. In our age not giving your hardware avalible software updates is really really unexusable. Showing support to your older product is showing love to your customers. And feeling abandoned for a new youger girlfriend is not exactly a stimulating emotional experience.

I own A7S3. There have been no major updates for this camera in a fucking eternity! Now they release ZV-E1 which has the same sensor and processor (according to Gerald) and every a7S3 owner is obviously pissed off. Its got so many new features that we all want but not going to get, cos SONY IS... I really dont know, what is their reason to justify this obnoxious attiude. Do they want to simply increase sales a tiny bit by doing it, in exchange of a major reputation damage? What are they thinking? Maybe we need to start an online petition, ah? There are a ton of videos on youtube complaining about it over and over again, Philip Bloom did a video, Gerald adressed it, in the comments people are raged, but still nothing. Sony is not adressing, not talking about it, not giving any timeline of new firmware updates, they are completely silent on the subject.
Maybe Andrew can interview them and ask that question directly? WTF is going on? That would be nice. I dont understand why a company would create such a terrible case in the first place. The loayalty and attitude of your fanbase and community is extremly important espescially nowdays, when fewer and fewer ppl by cameras. For me it became a substantial reason to even think about switching. I am looking at Panasonic - they are very generous with their firmware and camera support for years. Now they have PDAF, they have the best IBIS in town, I just want them to make o compact (not a huge 1kg monster), affordable camera that has FF 4k60p and might seriosly consider switching.

Nowhere says "unlimited recording for the seasoned professional", you misunderstood the product..
..if you are still searching for the perfect camera, you will always be! Especially these days manufacturers seem to over specialize..
It's really simple what the E1 offers and why is going to be a big hit..
    1) Cutting-edge technology for vloggers
Working with the ZV-E1's 12.1 MP1 full-frame sensor, the latest BIONZ XR™ engine provides high-speed processing to support 4K 60p, 120p upgradable2 recording, while an AI processing unit improves subject-recognition capabilities for advanced vlogging applications
    - a very famous sensor with great chips around it! Zirgons, diamonds and pearls and fancy epistimonic words help to give gravitas anyway!
    2) Sony's E-mount system
Vary your imagery with different lenses
    - as I said, lenses became a huge advantage from a disadvantage for Sony
    3)Intuitive Cinematic Vlog Setting
Create memorable imagery with S-Cinetone™ and other settings
By using Cinematic Vlog Setting5 and choosing a Look and Mood6, you can create cinematic vlog footage that matches the scene and your creative intent. The overall cinematic feel is further enhanced by the use of a 24 fps7 frame rate and the widescreen Cinemascope aspect ratio (2.35:1)8 with black bands above and below the image.
    - "Cinematic" always sells cameras! Everyone wants to be "cinematic" whatever that is..Certainly has black bars above and below!
    4)Rely on stable camera work
5-axis in-body image stabilisation, Dynamic active Mode and Framing Stabilizer
    - a good stabilizer and a couple of gimmicks for the lazy ones..
    5)AI-based Auto Framing for movies
Automatically adjust the framing to highlight your main subject
    - for zombies that want to be filmmakers!
    6)Real-time Recognition AF
Human pose estimation using a skeleton-based model
    - for zombies filming mummies!
    7) Slow and Quick Motion
    Capture action in superhuman detail
    - for the Marvel funs and whoever wants to feel super..(funs of Thus Spoken Zarathustra included..the original super human)
😎Creative zoom control (the rocker in the on/off dial
    - ok, that is good to have regardless
    9) 3 mic audio
    - sounds better than the usual and typical arrangement
    10) amazing battery
    - after half a dozen of years with terrible battery life, when they did it, they really did it..
    11) smallest full frame camera
    - is it really? HUGE selling point..
    12) A7sIII lite for a portion of the price
    - ofcourse it isn't the A7Siii, so it doesn't cost as much.. everyone's happy..if someone needs what the A7Siii does and have..well...yes, right..

That is a ridiculous argument. A7s3 is photo camera now? Is this a joke? Everyone know its a video-first camera. Now I think Sony have moved from S series to FX now, but that doesnt mean that A7S3 suddenly became obsolete.

Amazeballs got a reaction from Rinad Amir in Sony vs Panny
After the powerfull S5mk2 presentation I just wanted to summarize some cons and pros for both systems from perspective of a guy who owns a Sony camera but switched from GH5 mainly cos of the reliabilty issiues with Panny AF.
Now ofc we need to take into account that S5mk2 is a baseline new Panny camera with PDAF. They will defeintly introduce updates to the rest of their lineup and it would be much easier to make up your mind in the future when we see all those camers. Nevertheless I just want to lay out what I already can see at the current market position. So this comparison not gonna be very camera specific as obviosly A7S3 beats S5mk2 in terms of rolling shutter and FF resolutions cos Sony is a leader of camera sensor production and they keep their best and newest sensors for themselfs exclusively. Ok lets do it:
    Sony
    Pros:
    - Lens lineup. Yes, an obvious one. E-mount has the strongest lens selection, with tons of options from a plethora of manufcatures. Tamron zooms are awesome and unique. Samyang primes are tiny, awesome and affordable. Sony lenses are quite compact themselfs (compared to Pany its noticable). And they all work more or less the same on Sony cameras.
    - Compactness of the system. You can have a very compact kit with a Sony camera. Both their bodies and lens selection lets you build a very manageable system in terms of size and weight
    - Recorded gyro data. That is a pretty cool option. I am currently experimenting with it using GyroFlow which is a much better software than the infamous CatsalystBrowse, I will share my experience on the topic later. Gyroflow already has a Resolve plug-in but its not that great. Future iterations might improve significantly.
    - Sony will always have the latest Sony sensor tech and that is a big factor of their sucesess
And I kind of ran of out pros at this moment 🙂
    Cons:
    - FIRMWARE updates almost never happen. Thats a very big downside for me cos I hate when companies treat their customers mostly like milking moneybags . And that seems to be a strategy here.
    - A very limited amount of video specific tools. Maybe you want false color, waveforms, shutter angle, opengate recording? Well keep dreaming or buy a Sony higher tier "proper cinema camera" for that. I guess FX3\30 does not classify as one.
    - IBIS is meeh unless you are using post-gyro stabilization which works only in specific modes (doesnt work in S&Q for example or 120fps)
    - Body ergomonics is meeh
    - HDMI output feed is terribly desgined. Panasonic wins here by a mile.
In general Sony makes an impression of company that is not vert keen on listenning to their customers feedback and they would prefer to milk all of them to the last drop than to make them happy giving some relevant camera updates and showing some feedback and ability to listen. And for me its an important trait that I react to.
    Panny boy:
    Pros:
    - the new IBIS is just FUCKING AMAZING! Bravo Panny! You took it to the next level truly.
    - Panny update policy is one of the best in the buisness. You can rest assured that your camera will get relivant updates for the next 2-3 years or more with some sudden surpises along the way.
    - Panny ergonomics is quite good
    - their HDMI output layout is great!
    - All the video orieneted features that Sony is missing, Panny is actively adding to their cameras
    Cons:
    - Lenses. The obvious one. They are big, they are expensive, they are limited in variety. But.. their quality is quite good. Focus breathing compensation build-in is very appreciated. And Sigma lenses giving the system some lighter and cheaper options in nice. So its not all that bad but Sony still wins here quite firmly.
    - no PDAF.. haha. Well that in the past now. Huge con elliminated finally
What else? Well we need to see the all new lineup refreshed to make an adequte judgement here so the time will tell. But for now Panasonic just raised from the underdog to a strong contender in my eyes.
    ---
Border line. For now purely as a company Panny wins in my eyes. They are just more user friendly and video oriented and innovative beyond just sensor tech innovation.

I think it is very much competitive with the cameras above. PDAF, fantstic IBIS and lots of pro-video tools. Really glad they have finally made such a camera. I agree with Gerald that in terms of value for money S52 is the next A7III. I hope Panasonic sells a shit tone of them and more lens mafucatures will enter L-mount alliance.
