Whenever I feel depressed about the state of YouTube I have a laugh at Ethan's channel. One of the best at lampooning the worst of YouTube behaviour.
The medium, being a computer based algorithm, is not much cop at curating a culture.
So of course it has convinced people that fakery and lies are real... the biggest prank of all is Brexit.
It would be interesting to know which channels the young generation are aspiring to be like... Pewdiepie probably comes close to the top. Professional Fortnite players on Twitch maybe. It's not got much humanity in it... It's all very machine driven. After all, it's a machine driven medium.
Fake lives are now real lives. Fake news is now shaping the real agenda.
And in the eyes of the next generation, those pedalling the fake lives may as well be superstars.

Best way to find the "sweet spot" is this android app and a good/calibrate external monitor. 

 

Yes you can change the settings.
It is a derivative of this more comprehensive automated app which enables you to set a range for the parameter(s) that you are interested in changing.
When you have set those, it will step through each permutation and take a still or do it continuously as one piece of video.
When it is running, it displays the settings on the screen so you can film them at the same time as a colour chart or whatever subject you are interested in so you can reference the settings for the look that you want.

There is no oIS version but it runs on very modest Android hardware so any cheap used handset can be used if you want to run it.

I've had no issue with mine but I haven't with my LX100 either which for a lot of people was a big dust magnet as well.
Might be a chance to pick up one for even cheaper then and then use this "easy" guide to removing the dust from one
Can't help thinking he should have done a mic input mod while he was in there !
 

If you are looking for a (much) cheaper option to the RX100 that can match the colour profiles of your other Panasonic cameras then the LX10/15 (unlike the LX100) can use the Cinelike D hack made by that Focus Device Prototype Guy™.
Its f1.4 on the wide end as well so its faster than even the Mark V.
Still the same no microphone input bullshit though.

If TechART get their existing M to E mount AF adapter working with their new E to Z mount (I know @Andrew Reid was badgering them about what does seem to be an inexplicable oversight !) then that would be worth a look but whether the Z6 will give the same optical performance issues as the Sony remains to be seen.
Other than that, the SL will do the job for you in terms of M lenses being better on it than Sony and is falling in price since the S1 launch and with a likely SL2 on the horizon.
It crops in 4K but not in HD so that won't be an issue for you.
Gives you some room to expand as well with the new L mount lenses from Sigma, providing Leica doesn't spit their dummy like they did with the MC21 adapter.
 

This is a decent place to start.
They have an app to create foam inserts for all the various hard cases from Peli, SKB etc.
There is a limited preset library of lenses and cameras but you can photograph or use pack shots of your own gear as well.

While I certainly wish them success, and while LIDAR is proven technology (that even my smartphone has), the reason why this isn't used by major camera makers is probably because of its open loop nature and the calibration required, much like you have to keep both the lens and the camera in calibration for a classic rangefinder. If we had so many accuracy issues with still photography with DSLRs why would we expect any non-TTL, non-sensor based, open-looped technology to not suffer from the same.

I'm definitely getting myself a T shirt with that on it.
With regard to the hype around this new camera, its a subtle point but Sony haven't finally given the RX100 the ability to use an external mic but merely re-introduced it after removing it post RX100 Mark II.
Also, the Mark VI got a lukewarm response by and large because of Sony swapping the lens from the Mark V to the slower one with longer reach but that drawback seems to have now been glossed over because of the new features.
