  1. This seems like God tier trolling and I love it. The rumors are hilarious, whether true or not I'm enjoying the entire ride.
  2. I guess I might chance it and become a beta tester.
  3. The problem is not with the mics on the camera but the XLR and 3.5mm input, the on camera mics seem to work fine. Were you using an external mic through the 3.5mm or XLR or just testing the on camera?
  4. +1 Do not overlook the manual, it's actually a great one. If only someone could teach me to "see" these colors properly...
  5. No issues with the low audio levels? https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=80752
  6. +1000000 So much BS to wade through. Meanwhile it seems like social media is enabling an idiocracy of sorts, where everyone is a so called expert just because they are good at social. Makes it so hard if you actually want to learn this! For different clip timings, you can also make a subclip from the longer clip and then change that "new" clip's attributes.
  7. Anyone with this camera have any of the issues posted on the bmd forum? - left edge of screen turning whiteish - issues with usb-c ssd connections https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=80576 Thinking of picking one up after seeing some of the films from this thing (looks great!) but don't want to get the first batch if they're having lots of problems. I'm not in the US so returning the camera to get it fixed is going to be a pain. I thought m43 was dead. Not yet!
  8. Well for narrative probably not, but I guess newfoundmass has never had the pleasure of clients asking you for CSI ENHANCE because they want to focus on something else in the shot.
  9. I have a pretty good PC (threadripper, 1080ti, 64gb ram, m2 SSD) and even with 4k it stutters and has slow responsiveness. Can't imagine 8k footage...
  10. Google, reddit, youtube, etc. I just started 2 days ago. Nodes is ok for color but I'm hating it for fusion right now. Take a small old project and remake it in Resolve if you want to learn all the basics. https://www.reddit.com/user/jayaretv https://www.reddit.com/r/colorists/comments/31k26f/where_to_begin_with_becoming_a_colourist/ https://taoofcolor.com/ https://www.learncolorgrading.com/
  11. Warp stabilizer is pretty good, sometimes you just have to precomp and mask (just drop a simple solid in there or shape) and you're good to go.
  12. Does anyone else have this issue? During live event shoots, my A7III has lots of problems with screens/lights causing flicker (banding pattern). I try different shutter speeds but nothing helps. Usually shooting 1/50 for 24p. Dropping down to 1/25 I can see it's gone, but anything above that and it's still there (1/40 to 1/200++). The GH5 I have is fine in the same situation. A7III at home is fine with my lights and monitors, and on normal corporate shoots with LED panels. Anyone else experience this? Also I just want to rant - stabilization on the A7III is terrible. I updated to V2 firmware because it said IS optimizations, what a load of crap. Screwed over 3rd party batteries and IS is no better, so if you're still on 1.1 just stick with it for now. The tamron 28-75mm seems to be worse IBIS wise after the update.
  13. Zoom F4 for $350 if you got the email from BH for extra $100 off.
  14. I just did 8 hour event with ronin-s and a7iii Quite tiring!
  15. If only the uwa and 16-55 f2.8 was stabilized I would give it a shot for sure.
  16. I don't remember, my notes say 63C with fresnel attachment and 40+ with bare light.
  17. To be honest I haven't really used my Godox units a whole lot. With the quieter fans comes reduced airflow and higher temps. I'm in a generally cool climate, stock operating temp for the sl200 I think was 42C and with the quieter fans I'm getting 53C. If you are in the desert I doubt either will last, but the stock fan would keep it cooler for slightly longer. I forgot if I swapped out to the regular vs the ULN (noctuas has different versions of the same fan at diff speeds and noise levels). Whatever I'm running only adds 3db to noise floor in tiny quiet bathroom so huge improvement over stock and basically silent on location. I'm trying the led flex panels because they're so much lighter and easier to carry around AND the bicolor is so much easier to live with than gels. I hate trying to get these cobs
  18. I've written a bunch on the Godox SL on dvx lighting forum. If you are willing to experiment for us, how about this Falcon Eyes COB https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H5HXV1H/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1_1_2?smid=A2ATCDO7P7Y2P0&psc=1 Looks really interesting, 300W bicolor, could be better than Aputure? Thinking of getting this and selling my Aputure COB 300. Also thinking of getting the Falconeyes RX24TDX.
  19. You said "But if i don't fully connect the lens I can shoot fine, I'm guessing chip-free dumb adaptors will sort this?" but, ok.
  20. Maybe 1dx ii... But it only does 4k clips in like 3 min bursts

    Tru Horizon?

Zhiyun weebil or whatever looks good for small and light setup.

    Tru Horizon?

If the setup is too light you can always add weight with washers etc.

You have to get a gimbal that can support the weight of your system. 5d3 and lenses can get really heavy plus it doesn't have a tilt or swing out screen. Do the math and make sure you are considerably under the limit for best performance. Most of the older gimbals have the motor blocking the back of the camera, which is is fine if you have a gh camera but sucks for fixed screen cams. Also you won't be able to balance any longer lenses on it, not sure what lenses you are planning on using. I have crane v2, crane 2, shining, and dji ronin-s. Crane is fine for gh5 but for a7iii I use the ronin-s. The double handle thing you can get one for under $30 on eBay. Zhiyun and dji ronin-s are easily resellable but other gimbals are less known. The Feiyu stuff looks interesting but I have no experience with them. They have the ak4000 still not released that is pretty much their ronin-s but $150 cheaper, if it's actually good it will be worth it. Ronin-s is still hot so you can resell it pretty easily right now (out of stock everywhere). Also kind of heavy but still manageable. Oh yeah check out moza air 2 as well.
  24. Just get the $2 dumb adapter and be done with it. I have experienced the same thing.
