@Snowbro only time I have seen any banding is when it’s shot in f-log and heavily graded without knowing if it was even shot in 10bit or with what codec. Please don’t buy the camera. Bro. Please.

Full frame is mostly for stills. Most film is shot on Super 35. This camera can do both in their ideal format. What's the problem? Plus the footage looks good. It has mojo.
Looks pretty dam filmic to me...
I find your concept of “mojo” hilarious. Even funnier that you think that this turd with a horrible highlight roll off has “mojo” and the Nikon Z:s don’t. Please.

he’s either a troll or just plain ignorant. He ABSOLUTELY needs 4k60p WITH NO TIME LIMIT

exFAT format for files larger than 4GB will be added via future firmware update.
HLG is broadcast HDR, there's no requirement for bitdepth or colour subsampling, can be 420 or 422, even 8bit.
Gimbal these days are quite lower than $1000.
Implementation of H.265 is purely for hardware-accelerated 10bit.
So huge question mark regarding the exfat update, coming from you without a source.
And @Charbax you come off as a spoilt little brat. Don’t buy the camera. It’s not for you. Buy the Eos R.

MdB is clearly a true Canon fanboy. I’m just worried about the rolling shutter on the Z6 FX. If it’s fine it’s gonna be amazing.
-
If the Z6 has a decent rolling shutter in FX it’s an instant buy. MdB you’re a wee bit daft aren’t you?

H.265 is chosen because the ARM processors have 10bit HEVC hardware-accelerated encoding. At high bitrate, encoding efficiency/quality between H.264 and H.265 is identical.
Nice to see that it’s not cropped in 4k24p, as you reported earlier ?

I don’t care that much about ibis since the Fuji lenses have such good OIS, but it’s a shame they still split up the files in 4gb chunks. Especially considering the 400mb/s bitrate.
But what a fantastic camera. The output is beautiful.

X-T3 has a crop. There’s no information about that anywhere online so unless you’re using one right now you’re just making things up.

The music video footage is pristine. But was it shot in APS-C or full frame mode?
If full frame from 46MP, then I am amazed. It's flawless. Not a hint of aliasing and even better than the D850.
Same question for the guy who posted the N-LOG clip for download in ProRes format. Was that full frame or APS-C?
What settings Jeff?
Here's the behind the scenes from the music video – I don't think they talk about using it in crop mode. 90 percent of it was however shot with autofocus.

No ibis though. It will live and die by the video autofocus. Remains to be seen if they can improve their implementation.
The X-H2 is going to be special for sure

That’s crazy. If the rolling shutter is well controlled and there’s a longer internal record limit than 15 min without overheating this is a very competitively priced video monster.

The Z6 and the Atomos Ninja V might be the best compact documentary setup in 2018-2019 for quick delivery.
-
I really hope that Is from the Nikon Z6. Looks pretty special to me, beautiful Nikon colors. And that 1080p is SUPER CLEAN. I’m mostly worried about the rolling shutter by now. It would also be shitty if it doesn’t support exFAT32 and splits the file into 4gb pieces.

This guy shot the whole thing with the Nikon Z7. For those of you who don’t understand German: the talking head parts is shot with the kit zoom at 70mm, autofocus with face detection on, flat profile. Looks promising... great skin tones and the focus doesn’t seem to shift. After 20 minutes of internal 4K recording, the battery was at 90%.

The body is more square shaped, in the spirit of the x-t20, look at the side by sides. And the top dials are thinner, just like the ones on the X-H1. Depending on how long it will let you record 4K without booster grip, how good the continuous autofocus is and how bad the rolling shutter is, it might be a hit. Otherwise DOA. Better to wait for the x-h2, if video is concerned.

This infamous dude at least shot portions of this video with the Z7 and the colors look good. The footage not shot on the Nikon is shot with the a7iii and has the trademarked Sony zombie colors, it becomes very apparent.
He also says in the commentaries that the battery life at least seems better than the CIPA rating. Which is a slight relief.

Maybe so. If it weren’t for the 15 minute recording limit in 4K (from what ive heard) otherwise it would still be fifteen minutes because of battery life. I hate handgrips and rigging the camera out like some Frankenstein just to take anywhere near the level of usability of a gh5 for example. But we’ll see...

I used to own the d750 and still haven’t found a nicer more organic image than it produced in 1080p. And the motion and colors were lovely. It was just a tad too soft, and the lack of ibis, the 15 minutes internal record limit and the sheer size of it made it too cumbersome and unpractical.
The poor battery life of the Z-series and the single card slot are huge drawbacks with regards to usability. But if the image is nice enough I will still be tempted, even though it seems to be an A7rii with Nikon color science.
-
According to Nikon’s own specs the battery is good for about 10-15 minutes of video. I haven’t found any information with regards to internal codec. Is it 422? What bitrate? At least there’s still the flat picture profile...
-
If the the GH5S would have had in body image stabilisation it would have been the perfect m4/3 camera with regards to video and I would without hesitation have sold my a7riii for it. The color science and malleability of the files seem truly exceptional. There is just something about the magenta and the greens in the Sony skin tones that even the stellar af or the full frame look can’t compensate for.

That face detection in video looks so much better than on my a7riii. And the colors as well. The color tonality balance has always been amazing on the Nikons, even better than Canon, which are pressing too heavily on the reds for my taste.
If the motion cadence is anywhere near the d750 when shooting at 180d, we are golden.
