Why is not an Arri Alexa in this body but with AF and 8k 240 is beyond any logic.... for this price it should be the minimum.

Why people don't download some CRLs 8k and try in Resolve before complaining that is not workable. Of course if you want to record hours and hours you will not use it but then there is finally XF-AVC in this camera that will do it, but you want to squeez out the max you can really work with CRL especially the LT version.

Your assumption is faulty because you are basing yourself on 5D3, a 2013 camera that had very soft FHD as it used pixel binning (resolution was closer to 720p) and on top of that had 8-bit compressed files with no log option. The IQ jump from that to 14-bit ML RAW was colossal.
Now the R5/R5C is light-years away from that. The compressed files have super chunky bitrates, downsample from 8K and we have 10-bit 4:2:2 Clog3.
Pop those files in Resolve, and grade your heart away. The image holds. Beautiful skin tones can be achieved.
Use "neutral" instead of default "Eos cinema" in the Log color matrix options and you've got Canon's ARRI emulation. Pop an ARRI lut and with minor tweaks you are almost there.
Now of course going RAW unlocks the full IQ potential. No doubt about that.
But again the 10-bit compressed files a more than usable and imo have more mojo than Sony as you can turn off NR unlike A7S3/FX3.
In any case you have every option in R5C, shoot RAW or compressed with many bitrate/codec/resolution options.
I agree with most of your points but the thing is, we're not all the same types of shooters. Which is why indeed there is no perfect camera... for everyone or every situation. Hence the lack of consensus on a forum like this.
Obviously some people can't live without IBIS. Others can't without a decent PDAF system. etc
We can also talk aesthetics all day but its such a subjective/endless topic.
In the end this R5C is either for you or it isn't. Many other options out there.
Not many options when it comes to 8K RAW on a hybrid though.
Either this or Z9. Problem with Z9 is Zero effort seems to be done on the video OS side.
The brilliant thing about R5C imo is that its two camera systems in one.
R line and C line fused (or rather split) together. That is something new and unique that sort of redefines hybrid shooting.

I am like you Davide, strictly from an end user perspective with no engineering background other than the film school where we don't discuss the tools, we are trained to make them work and live with their limitations and improvements : )
I imagine there are some other industries looking after something else we don't even need using what we already have.
So far so good. TBH the R5C tests I've seen are promising enough to make it shine within its limits.
    No expectations on unblurring anything.
No need for miraculous potion either because the current tools are already fair enough. We have our workarounds too. What we cannot handle, Don, is to reach a price target outside of our budget. Might we buy this R5C if the implementation of the IBIS feature would cost an extra grand, as for instance? Yes. Would we do it from a product already in the $4,500 price range without IBIS or at the cost of its weight then? Probably not.
I believe sometimes it's this kind of decisions the product design team has in mind when they decide to include some feature or not. More than adopting the theory of conspiracy they are there to see our expectations fucked up.
    :- )

In the ProAV video the stationary handheld OIS + Digital IS versus IBIS and the results for the digital was just as good if not better without weird warping corners which you would have to crop to get rid of anyway.
I'm not saying Digital IS is going to completely replace IBIS. They each have their trade offs and IMHO optical IS + Digital IS seems to offer less artifacts at wider focal lengths than IBIS can in video. Until we have IBIS mechanisms that can be completely lock down then there will be a market for both. IBIS is clearly beneficial but its not going to suddenly make your camera into a gimbal stabilized beast, not yet anyway.

I think they have messed up the spec.... on canon official there is no open gate unfortunately:

The crazy thing is that a couple years ago everybody was complaining that Canon wasn't giving its customers enough resolution. Now they give 8K and people still hate them.

And 1GBps for 8K 12-bit footage is reasonable compromise compared to even ProRes HQ data rates at 10-bit.
There are a shit ton of codec options for everybody. 95% solutions to high +2GBps RAW options. Sounds good to me.

So 4k 120 in XF-AVC is unlimited I saw one test with 1.5h.
Now is the same quality or even better than the R5?

Something that I could not find out if the 4k 120 is oversampled and unlimited too.
Anyone has seen something in this regard?

I really think is wrong it does 12bit RAW video why it would do only 10bit RAW photo.... is a typo imo

Right, well no IBIS so yeah guess that deal breaks the R5C for you.. maybe go for FX3 or S1H? 😉

I really hope is like this, a R5 with a vent, hope they keep the same swivel screen.... I don't want to go back to 1D style of bodies and weight.

Oh I agree, the C70 will always be the better option if you are only shooting video, but if the R5c keeps all of its photography features as well it will have no equal for run and gun hybrid shooters like me since the C70 has zero photography capabilities.
The R5c sounds like it could be the general purpose workhorse photography camera while still providing enough usable video features for event videos, music videos, weddings, promo videos, etc.
If Canon strips out the photography features then they will finally once and for all be dead to me.

I think you might have some difficulty getting them to turn around their corporate policy on that basis.  But you can give it a go.  You just have to find the other seven people around the world that feel strongly about that particular facility.

I cant agree more, It got so restrictive now especially with flying over people that < 250g is almost the only way to go.

I'll bite. I can shoot 12bit 8K DCI RAW internally with my R5. Why do I need this? And, no, I do not experience overheating problems (though I have to be mindful). And, right now one cannot record 8K on the Ninja V+ with the R5. There still needs to be a firmware update. So, no one can report the advantages, if any.

I used to use PW remotes for my remote camera, now in most cases I just start video recording and select the image after from the video, is much quicker to find the right moment in Resolve that culling many images. The big advantage for me no more miss fires, buffer full and so on. Also the fact that now camera are fully silent is a big plus too in some environment that I place the remote

Spec are now public, seems a really impressive camera and priced quite aggressively at 5500$.

I'm not a Nikon user but I'm very happy to see Nikon bring such camera to the market. To me at least at spec level it seems a much better camera that the R3 form 500$ less especially once they get Raw video and 8K 60 but even without it is still a better camera on paper.
