Does it? That’s odd considering the 5D IV doesn’t ship with C-Log (well does, sorta).

1.9x dear lord that's an epic fail if the case ?
25 minutes ago, MdB said:C-Log on DSLRs are not in the picture styles.
True however C-log is clearly listed in the same style Canon 5D4 PDF specs sheet under video shooting.

No mention of 4k crop in the specs. Could it be? ?
5D4 & M50 have no mention of the 4K crop either in their specs...
Sad to see DCI 4K gone.
Praying for C-Log & the rumored 10-bit out via HDMI.
No IBIS is a major letdown.
-
Theres quite a gap in between the limitations of the M50 (Digic8) & the C200 (DV6). I suspect the R will stand somewhere in between..
On a more trivial note, anyone else think the R naming is kinda..Random? On a sex appeal level this is also one ugly duckling imo.

98% of the movies you gush over are filmed on a APS-C type sensor. APS-C is far from dead for video as far as i'm concerned.
That being said the mirrorless race is on, and with APS-C modes inside Nikon & Sony cams well Fuji have to really up the ante as far as features & ergonomics imo.
Rumors better be right about 10-bit internal. But with no IBIS, questionable AF, poor battery life and rather clumsy ergonomics for video (hate that 4 position lever in between stills & video mode) i don't think XT3 will make a huge impact outside of dedicated Fuji users. I myself will probably dump the system even though I'm still fond of my XT2 as a cheap, compact & affordable hybrid.

They got SO much flack for that crop factor on 5D4, wouldn't be wise doing that again knowing what they're up against. then again it's Canon..lol

@Mattias Burling Never going out of AF-S means not taking advantage of Dual Pixel tracking though no?
@EspenB Lol.. i suggested same thing couple minutes ago but just found out on nokishita that it's in fact a "Multifunction bar installed". Could be used for zooming among several other things i'd imagine
-
Actually I'm feeling the ergonomics a lot more on the Z6: joystick, tilt screen, ISO button, 2 front FN buttons, Mode dial with U1/U2/U3.
No dedicated AF-S/AF-C switch on either.
-
..and Fuji XT3 images have leaked (not that anyone probably cares right now)
I don't see a single re-design which is pretty damn lazy... full announcement Sept.6 (day after Canon ?) DOA anyone?
-
The control ring adapter was code named "M.ADAP R PL". My guess is it was bad interpretation, I'm assuming that adapter will allow smooth aperture control via the ring for EF lenses.
In any case, both that adapter & the ND one especially seem to indicate Canon are aiming this at the serious videographer.
edit: just noticed the dual (focus?) rings on all the R lenses, now that's also pretty interesting!
edit 2: could that rocker switch be for motorized zoom pulls?

You mean like the 30MP sensor already does in the 5D IV?
More like the Super35 mode in 1DC. Actual Super35 not 1.74x crop. And of course FF. For both 4K & 1080p.
-
Hopefully there is a Super35 full readout mode in addition to pixel binned FF (a la Z7) wishful thinking I know..

I’m getting mixed feelings from this one.
Looks like the 5D IV sensor slapped on 6D2 rear controls: no joystick, flip out screen.. and is that a d-pad instead of wheel? Those 3 things really irk me personally.
Top is ok, there is a lock but no dedicated ISO/WB buttons. Mode button instead of a dial. Only one function button..? OLED display looks good.
No mention of IBIS and the 35mm has IS.. this has got me worried.
On the plus side, -6EV DPAF & 4K, ND adapter and strong lens line-up.
If they don’t mess up the 4K (full readout, no crop, strong codec, improved RS) and include C-Log that could be just barely enough to get my money..

C'mon Fuji jump on the bandwagon!

Nokoshita leaks lens lineups:
EOS R body
EOS R 24105 kit
RF 35 mm F 1.8 M IS
RF 50 mm F 1.2 L USM
RF 28 – 70 mm F 2 L USM
RF 24 – 105 mm F4 L USM
M adapter Rwow
oh shit! hot lens line-up ?
now let's hear more about the body.. still no IBIS from Canon?

He's called the angry photographer for something lol.. he ripped the A7III a lot harder in his overzealous 3 part review.. it should be worth mentioning he was already dissing the Z cameras before they were even announced. it seems like indeed a lot of Nikon DSLR shooters have had a negative reaction towards the camera ever since the new mount was announced. The pro body shooters got even more worked up when the mode dial, single card slot info came out.. justifiably so i guess.
But it should be noted most of these reviewers are photographers. most of them know or care little about video.

I wouldn't place any bets at the moment.. i think Zeiss said it best:

rumour taken down to SR1 lol... (SR1) UPDATED: Sony A7sIII to be announced at IBC 2018 on September 14 ??? Unlikely…

Apple & oranges a bit I'd say. C100 is a proper cine cam with ND filters, flip screen, XLR, peaking/zebras/waveform & DPAF with the upgrade. 1DC is a hybrid cam, so you get a killer stills cam but you do get FF, S35 & APS-H 4K on the video side. IQ wise i think @MdB said C100 had nicer motion & maybe tad sharper 1080p?
Also I'm curious how is the rolling shutter on 1DC in S35 mode?
-
Sony sort of have to go 10-bit on A7S3 or I just don't see what that model has to bring to the table vs A73. Keep in mind though, it will probably still cost +$3K and have very low MP count. It's a speciality camera, not really an all-rounder.
Nikon Z6 is still packing a lot of heat for 2 grand. Absolutely awesome to see confirmation the battery life way exceeds what was initially announced!
1000 shots / 2h10mn 4K ..with LCD on all the time! what was CIPA smoking when they rated it?!

Yeah I still love shooting my 5D mark 1 for that classic Canon look.. and of course C100 mark 1. Colour on those is just something special.
1DC in my opinion is still one of the best Canon cameras to this day for hybrid shooters. 4k with minimum APS-H crop & best quality in-camera 1080p in S35 mode. C-log. Classic Canon colors. I just may pick one up as a side-arm to my C100 if Canon doesn't come through with a promising MILC this fall.
I'd be curious to see this 4k mode HDMI 1080p from the 5DIV/1DC but i already know i'd find it a major hassle to record externally just to get a quality cropped 1080p, with poor RS.

Quite a few specs missing? That PDF is longer than the 5D4 spec sheet.. and at 3 days from the announcement, I'm pretty confident those are final specs.
The only mystery is of course 4K crop or no crop. Canon never publish that kind of info.
