I shot in F-Log and converted to PQ Rec2020. Actually the F-Log already uses Rec2020 as F-Gamut so really just converting to PQ in Resolve by normalizing with a Bezier curve and outputting ST.2084. This article explains how its done. https://www.mysterybox.us/blog/2016/10/27/hdr-video-part-5-grading-mastering-and-delivering-hdr

Thanks for sharing, great information!! ( had to pause a few times tho ) ?

Thanks I don’t know why I remembered 12. I still love the OG Pocket and Micro image... I look at it like this... if you like a more filmic look... the OG Pocket is for you... if you prefer a more modern cinematic look... then the P4K is the way to go.

Has there been any good 1080p ProRes samples from the P4K floating around?

The one thing I'm yet to be convinced on from the p4k is the motion cadence... still early days though!

Wait... I thought the P4K was rated at 12 stops of DR by BM and the OG Pocket is rated at 13... am I missing something?

    defo 13 stops mate!

'The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K features 4/3 size sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 for HDR images and incredible low light performance.'

'Today, the Netflix Post Technology Alliance includes the industry leaders in four categories: cameras, creative editorial, color grading, and IMF packaging, with products from Adobe, Arri, Avid, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Colorfront, Fraunhofer IIS, Filmlight, Marquise Technologies, MTI Film, Ownzones, Panasonic, Red Digital Cinema, Rohde & Schwarz, and Sony. Visit pta.netflixstudios.com for a complete list of products.'

'You’re working on the next great show or film that will deliver to Netflix. You know Netflix has a high quality bar for its content and you want the delivery to go smoothly. Do you know if the tools you have invested in can deliver to that quality? Will they connect to the sophisticated systems Netflix has in place? Until now, it hasn’t been easy to know that.

As an artist, it’s important that your needs drive the technical innovation in the tools you use. The Netflix Post Technology Alliance will act as a conduit for Netflix to support creatives and technology partners on new feature sets for tools, so artists can spend their energy on what matters most — the storytelling.

Today, we’re launching a new logo program to help with this. When you see the Netflix Post Technology Alliance logo, you’ll know the product meets Netflix technical and delivery specifications today, and will continue to do so in the future.'

  5. One thing I've noticed when watching premier League football in 4k (on  sky  q) is that the highlights in the scene always look really close to clipping and yet on the hd channel they look fine!

I know sky is releasing an update for half/hdr in early 2019; that should kickstart it!

I do agree with Alister that hdr doesn't need to be paired with 4k!

    Interesting topic ?

how much is it a speed booster (or compatible brand) for this camera? thx

It depends really? Do you want to use manual lenses? If so, go for a viltrox or a lens turbo? They are around a 1/3 the price of a metabones! If you want to have electronic control then a metabones speedbooster is probably your best bet.
