Why get upset over what color or flavor of ice cream one prefers. Im never gonna understand that mentality. Its just seems like such a waste of energy.

He has the X-T2... I just see it as someone really appreciating the thought that went into the GH5, like to me both it and the E-M1 Mark II are how you do a camera body, there's really not much else to wish for. In terms of features, the GH5 is killing it as well. On paper it's one of the most well-rounded cameras out there. In the end everyone is right, though, so no need to argue. Different folks, different strokes. Priorities, needs, wants, stuff you're willing to compromise on for the sake of something else. In the end the most important thing is that you've got a camera, that doesn't stand in your way of creating, with emphasis on 'your'. If you're loving the process and results, it's all good.

Specs aside, from the frame grabs I am liking what I am seeing. We won't know for sure until we see some actual footage under various lighting conditions. I will be curious to see how this pans out. 

I took another look, and realized what I thought I saw with the AF/AE button was not the case. ( LOL ) Looking at another screen shot, it's pretty much identical to the GH5 with it's button arrangement, and labeling. The only visible difference that I can see is the drive mode dial red ring, no red buttons...  Either way, I'll be putting my name down for one  to be shipped my way as soon as it's officially announced.

Yes, I watched the video again in 4k, and realized the red ring stands out pretty good in that particular scene. After taking the screenshot I noticed I was wrong with what I originally thought.
From what we see, I don't think there's a difference in screen size... but who knows. Heres to hope, ?.

In all honesty, S35 or not, whatever it is, it's going to be (to quote the one-eyed bandit here) "the bee's knees", the snake's hips, the kipper's knickers, the cat's whiskers, the monkey's eyebrows, the dog's bollocks, and so on

I would not be annoyed at all. I would just preorder the new camera and either sell the GH5 or keep it as a B-cam.  The reason I would not be annoyed is because I purchased the GH5 fully knowing it was not perfect. I expected to upgrade it. The funny thing is I didn’t want to have to wait 3 years to do so. I have had many Sony cameras and have become accustomed to frequent updates to the model line. Also, I upgrade my phones every 6 months or so. I seldom keep a car for more than 2 years. So for me upgrading is always expected. And frankly, if it is a major upgrade, then the sooner the better. What do you think I would do if the next Sony camera blows away the GH5? Well I can tell you,  I will upgrade to the Sony. I am not married to any particular brand/model line. 
We live in a disposable society. Today’s new is old before it’s even released. The only part of my kit that does not update regularly are my lenses. But lord knows, I do certainly add to that collection regularly :-) 
 
I do not understand all the resistance to this camera. DON’T YOU WANT A BETTER CAMERA? I do. I am eager to get my hands on this bad boy. Would you rather have to wait 4-5 years for it? I have to admit, I just don’t understand this resistance.

I’m not sure why a GH5 owner should be pissed off if a new model comes out that uses a S35 sensor? Does not the JVC's GY-LS300 sport a S35 sensor and have a M43 mount? If they can crack this nut, cannot Panasonic?

I’ll go one better than this... what if another manufacturer releases a camera that beats the GH5 in every way? Better handling, low-light, battery life, IQ, AF, stabilization... just crushes it in everything. Will that hurt the value of the GH5? Of course it will. It is a well established fact that the GH5 suffers from poor AF in video and low-light is not exactly the best. All GH5 owner purchased their cameras, so we all stand to lose some resale value. But after the next release of the new “best camera”, our current cameras will be no less capable than the day we bought them. Cameras are generally not an appreciating asset. If you wish to make money with them, you must do so by using them to create a product that then earns a return. 
Let me give you all a heads up... after you plop down money on the new GH5s, rest assured that a relatively short while after doing so, a new better camera will be released. One that addresses the shortcomings of the GH5s (or whatever model number). And yes, there will be shortcoming. If this bother you, don’t upgrade. You only realize the lost once you sell and lock it in.
Why exactly is this a problem? As I recall there is only one camera manufacturer that ever promised not to release updates in a short timeframe. And that manufacturer is Canon. The irony of that is Canon are consistently given grief for not innovation rapidly enough. Yet the only way they could do this would be to release more regular updates. Also the model protection that Canon puts in place so that no model steps on the toes of another is constantly criticized. Yet in doing this they seemingly protect the value of each of their products. 
If you prefer Canons way of doing things, well buy Canon. They make great cameras. But if you want the latest and greatest features and tech, go with Sony or Panasonic.

I understand that you only purchased the GH5 3 weeks ago, but it has been released since March, that's a bit more than a few months. If there is announcement Dec 15th, at that time you'll have the option to really weigh things out and know if your buyers remorse is justified. Until then, I see no reason why you cant enjoy your GH5 for all the other good things that enticed you to buy it just 3 weeks ago. 

Yes agreed, the lens selection is really A1. I haven't used the 75, but almost picked up one a couple months back.
