    Tried to get Photodiox to match the price of Varvon NX-1 cage sale....($50)

    It seems reasonable as there will never be another Samsung NX product.

    I just got a new toy Pocket cinema camera with 12 batteries original box and cords. For $125?!

    He says it has dead/hot pixels... Like 6 of them I got it and tested it out but I don't see anything wrong with the picture... Perhaps it comes and goes or only happens when its hot?

    anyways great cheap way to get my feet wet with raw...   Just waiting for amazon to send my extreme pro card.

    NX-1 H265 HEVC + BM Davinci Resolve 12.5 Good?

    Hi all I use NX-1 exclusively and have been using premiere 2017 with out of camera files with no transcoding. It works pretty well. 

    I've been studying CC and all the books keep harpin on resolve I been messing with it it's great I just started transcoding a single hero shot to resolve to make a lut. And take to premere. 

     

    Im thinking of buying a dongle to unlock it and use it for everything. I'd gain 4k export and H265 support. 

    Anybody have experence using h265 in resolve? Is it fast as premere? I really hate the transcoding process and want to use it raw out of NX1. 

    If you could enlighten me on the plus and minuses of resolve  it would be a big help... Plan to buy soon

    I saw this and thought it was gimmicky then its seemed pretty cool but its hard to find....  I use my mono pod on my shoulder from time to time. They seem to be rare the only one I found was like $400 from a guy in india + $50 shipping to USA....  

    I was trying to figure out how to mod my Sirui Monopod  FreeStanding with a video head like this but Id need 3 things....

    1) Those handles that spin freely... and lock when you need them too I was thinking I could make some also collapsible handles would be nice.

    2)The base plate is unique its like an L shape that you can use to slide the camera to the center of you face to off set when its on your shoulder... Maybe add some type of padding....

    3) its weighted at the bottom mainly for the stabilization mode... but I could see a potental terrible accident walking like that!!  

    I could just put some cheap weight at the bottom of my mono pod it would be like this but free standing and a video head.....

    and thanks for the heads up I never heard that it can fry your sensor... Perhaps Ill reconsider its use....

    Hey all thanks for the info... I tried to install Ks Mod 2 on my NX-1 with 1.40 it didn't take found an older version and it works... I assume if I update to firmware 1.41 I can use KS Mod 2 is there any difference in performance between KS Mod 1 and 2?

    Also I tried to go straight to 320 bitrate and the camera was not having it.. same a 200 bit I put on 180 and its good...  

    I got a test file on my computer  computer and I definitely see a difference.. all though my premiere is choking a little on full rez... ran smooth on original rate.... 

    Have you guys come up with a favorable performance/file size/Quality ratio?

    According the law of diminishing returns what have you found to be the best bit rate? Perhaps 160bit simply 2x original rez?

    Hi all I have had my NX-1 about a year and have sorta been keeping tabs on the hack news.... Guess I figured Id let braver souls risk blowing up their cameras before I would try...

    I like the looks of my stock nx1 but was wondering if I boost the bit rate will make it easier or more flexible to Color grade it? is it more RAW like?  

    What is the best hack to use today? any links?  Any horror stories? Burnt out sensors? Bricked Cameras? Does it shorten the projected life of the camera?

    well you know when your known as the "camera guy" in your circle people keep dumping these old cameras I don't know what to do with...Earlier this year somebody gave me a Nikon D50 thats just sitting there....and just today this woman down the hall gives me a Canon XL-1  I can lie my heart dropped a little you dont know How much I wanted one back in 2000 when I worked at a local CBS station... 

    I have a NX-1 with 16-50s , 30mm, 45mm,16mm... about 6 old manual lenses... 

    What do I do with this Canon? Perhaps a good prop?   Well at least it will look cool on my camera shelf....

    Are you bringing a underwater housing? Would you have to keep adjusting white balance all the time? Careful I hear that if you mess around and one of the wrong type of stage lights goes into the lens it can fry your sensor... Or maybe that's older cameras...  

    NX-1 w Battery Grip cage options?

    Yeah that cage varavon cage is a great deal... but I love my NX-1 w battery grip its so comfortable.... I like the extra weight

     I was thinking do I know somebody that can fabricate it cut the bottom off get 2 generic cheese plates and weld  an extension to make it fit the battery grip? Does aluminum even weld well whale wail?   

    Plus cant think of anybody to do it... Its an Idea tho....

    Hi trying get or make a cage that can take my nx1 with the battery grip installed. its about 6 inches tall with it... Something like this would be good if I could get a longer bar...
