Got a proper chance to play about with the files... Thanks for the upload.... There is a clear difference with the 10bit/4:2:2  and 8bit/4:2:0 files. The 10 bit can be quite heavily pushed about. Really impressed.

Hardly meaningless.... 10bit 4:2:2 log is capable of capturing the full DR of a sensor, if implemented right.

Color grading is supposed to be an art-form...  not an equation. Grade to suite your story. To that point, everything that is done in the creation is there to support the story. From color grading, camera angles/movement, lens selection, background music, lighting, costume to selection of location and talent. All of it. Story telling is not science it is art. When your choices fail to support the story, that is when you fail as a filmmaker. I can say while many choose to grade these scenes as light hearted, and technically correct (read boring) I as did other choose to see them as a canvas to make something much more stylized (read interesting). I would be curious to see other attempts at grading these scenes for different genres: "SciFi", "Horror", "Drama". Because believe me they can't all look exactly the same.

Imo the best one so far is that of EOSHD member cantsin, who posted it in another forum. I am sure he will forgive me for putting the link in here:

My image looks like from a Christmas carol TV show (too kitschy skin). You can imagine she's just about to sing let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ....
cantsins image looks as if it was from a film with Julianne Moore.

Just under 13 stops at ISO 100 for print, just over 12 for screen but we often forget that is applying to the sensor and for stills in RAW only.
I would think that video (unless RAW) is mostly going to be less.       GH4 DR drops away fairly steeply as you go up the ISO range (as is the case with most cameras but especially smaller sensor cameras).
The Canon 5Diii that has been mentioned a bit in this thread has about a stop less DR at ISO 100 but has caught up by ISO 400 and is a stop ahead by ISO 3200 (against the GH4).
    https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-GH4-versus-Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-III___943_795
The latest Canons seem to have been raised their DR at base to the levels of other APSC and FF cameras.
Many cameras don't have the same range of ISOs for video that they do for stills.     My A7s can not go under ISO 100 for video and my GX7 can not go over ISO 3200 for video.
I cant help but thinking the GH5 , for video might look better than its DXO scores would indicate.       GH5 maybe will have a bit better DR and a bit less noise than the GH4 and should be not much different for stills but video, maybe some of its tech will make it better (against others).
I still think it wont match fairly recent APSC or FF cameras in low light but up to ISO 3200 (maybe 6400) many will prefer it (video anyway) maybe??

I've bit the bullet and pre-ordered.... I've been saying for a while that I will never again by an 8bit/4:2:0 camera... glad to finally put my money where my mouth is!

I'm not pre-ordering because it doesn't have the Auto Hollywood Mode, in which I'm guaranteed to be a Hollywood cinematographer. I don't want to buy lights and go to all that effort just to get a usable picture at night time. ;-D
In all seriousness, the camera seems like a no-brainer. I had and loved the GH3. But I'll be waiting for these firmware updates and some user experiences / knowledge before placing an order. I made that mistake with the RX10 II (which didn't work out for me at all).
I also need to break in my A6500 first!

As someone who makes their primary income from app ad revenue . ... I find it baffling that you are on here crying about people who reupload others work, yet are fine to steal content from app publishers.

Has anyone mentioned the Canon 1DC yet? That is around £4k new now.
I know you want 10 bit, but we are talking about compromises here.... I found it to be not as huge a compromise I always imagined, due to the 4:2:2 colour space and the very high bitrate.
The motion is really nice, due to the mjpeg codec and the look and colour is still very unique.

Not sure how we have gone from wedding video tips to discussing the RED Helium!? Probably overkill for most people's weddings
btw, for most people, once you are delivering decent 1080p (maybe even pristine 720p)... Colour becomes way more important than additional resolution.

MX is incredibly heavy and cumbersome when rigged.

The filmic look comes from dynamic range, but unfortunately not all cameras have enough to have that filmic look, therefore we raise the black levels to mimic that style. Its a stylistic choice, I dont like vibrant looks, to me, thats as vibrant as I would go. But I dont think its the cameras fault, its as versatile as any other camera.
This is a friends work, also with NX1 :
I think the NX1 has a much more pleasing look than any of the sonys for example, specially after trying my new a7sII, its very easy to have terrible skin tones.

You might just be able to get a FS700 + Odyssey 07Q at around £4k.
That checks a hell of alot of boxes, and with raw or raw to prores, you can get past the sony colour issues pretty easily.
4K, 120fps, decent low light, raw, 12+ stops DR... much smaller than Red ONE.

There's some interesting footage from the oly shot by a Finnish guy, Janne Amunét:

Looks pretty good to me but he looks like he really knows what he's doing!
I'd like to see how the camera compares to the GX85 and G80 and whether the Olympus is better overall for video.

I have been filming weddings for 10 years. Ask yourself:
Am I beauty or am I documentary?
If you are beauty then go with full frame (doesn't matter by whom, get shallow DOF).
If you are doc, then get a c100.
Develop an instinct for schedule changes. eg. When everyone is going to the next room, and when. Even if on paper,, it always changes. Ask people where they are going and why.
Coordinate with the bride's best friend. Groom knows nothing and his friends are there to get wasted.
Develop a signal so your. B cam can. Go wide when u go telephoto eg. Ring on finger
Everything on slider, tripod or gimbal. Go hand held at your own peril.
    Seek perfection.
Oh, and don't fuck up the dance by being embarrassed to light it.
