I would debate the R5 heavily for that line of work.  Green screen work can be complex to setup and film and the R5s overheating would make it very impractical.  The S1H has 6K and can even output RAW to a recorder via a proper HDMI port; making it more reliable for sure.  Besides who uses a hybrid for that work anyway.   At which point do you turn to dedicated video cameras.  The new Blackmagic would be more suited to that line of work.  I would even favour the Pocket 6K.  BRAW is a lot easier on the system than 8K RAW from Canon.  The only video I saw taken from 8K RAW, the poster said his machine crashed several times working on it.  In fact he doubted he'd use 8K RAW much for that reason.

Believe me I don't vote for the fuckers who are in at the moment but that still doesn't explain why Canon and Sony hike their European prices up way more than Panasonic for example

Same with the Canon R5 $3800 in the U.S and about $5500 in the UK
To compare Panasonic S1H is $4000 in the U.S. and about $4700 in the UK
Sony and Canon marketing teams in Europe are taking the piss

I stumbled upon thins incredibly good video that truly highlights the S1H capability to produce gorgeous cinematic images when paired with good lenses and good operator skills :
Skin tones are very good, overall image shines in my opinion.

Fuji XT3 - never overheated on me, the only annoyances are 30 minute limit and micro hdmi (same as Canon). Would like the IBIS and better battery life of the XT4 but waiting for them to get all the wrinkles ironed out and for it to go down in price used. Never buy new if I can help it and definitely not being a beta tester/early adopter when a camera has just been released.
I have a C100 and have been waiting since forever for Canon to produce an affordable and decent hybrid to go with it, but yet again they have failed to deliver. The XT3 has now become my a-cam as i much prefer the image, and I think will buy another used XT3 (so cheap) and sell up the C100 and leave Canon behind.

That last comment sounds like sour grapes.  What a shame Netflix didn't seek your opinion before approving the S1H. 😂😂
You seem to have a personal gripe over Panasonic; you're clearly not a fan, but many are.  I feel you are though biased to Canon, which is fine, but not everyone shares it.  It would seem your main issue with the S1H is with the codec.  Canon do give higher bitrates in their R5.  Though the S1H does have an ALL-I codec, which may offer a better image over what you've seen.

I mean it's not a V-logger camera, more like a cinema workhorse which could be used as an A-camera image wise even.

What about smaller file sizes? Adding something like Braw would reduce file sizes, but would likely require a massive coding effort to get it working. Some say the CFexpress card gets really hot in the video modes that cause overheating. That's really all I can think of that would help with just a FW update. Not sure if they can cram any more heat mitigation into the current body, but I'm sure they're trying to figure out what can be done.
Otherwise a small re-engineering of the body to improve heat dissipation seems like the only other solution. If I were in charge, the R5c with a slightly larger body would be part of the November second wave of cameras. Create a solution for video centric shooters that doesn't overheat, and let the "these are photo bodies, get a real video camera" luddites continue to have the current R5.

I have long been waiting for a solid mirrorless release from Canon. And was hoping maybe Sony would get their act together with colors and IQ. Looks like neither will happen for another 3-4 years. The Sony A7sIII specs are pretty much perfect, IMO - focusing on great 4k and great frame rates and not worried about 6k and 8k. But from what footage I've seen, zombie skin tones seem to persist. And the R5, though tempting, just seems too unreliable.
So, after using Panasonic as my stopgap for almost 4 years now (GH5, S1, and now S1H), I think it's just time to admit that I'm a Panasonic Man. Once those f1.8 primes come out, Sigma releases more compact primes, and they release a smaller (500-600 gram) full-frame camera I can use for stills, then it will have everything I need.
Panasonic just makes the most reliable and robust cameras with all the specs you need and have leapfrogged Canon in color and IQ with the S1 and S1H. Sure, having great AF is helpful sometimes, but it has failed me enough with the C200 and EOS R that I would never trust it on a professional shoot.
Looking forward to just being happy with the S1H (especially now with 6k and 4k ProRes Raw!) for the next 2-3 years.

    This is so depressing.
People should never, ever buy a camera that needs some kind of third party cooling solution. Don't reward companies that put out cameras like that.

I guess more will be revealed of the A7s3 but there are definitely question marks over its reliability with over heating. People mocked the size of the S1H but as can be seen by the Canon debacle and the new Sony you can't cheat physics with heat management and it looks like Panasonic made the right decision in making a larger solid camera people can trust. Paying over £4000 for a camera that may stop working is unacceptable in my eyes and so the R5 is not fit for purpose in a video production. (The A7s3 needs more testing)
That leaves the A7s3 and from what I've seen I would say the colour and IBIS are way superior on the S1H, disappointing that the A7s3 doesn't seem to have the same colour dna as the FX9. With RAW and anamorphic modes, higher resolution stills, AF is all that is really lacking

With the new data rates that this thing uses, I was surprised that my inexpensive 1 TB Western Digital Blue SSD could handle ProRes RAW HQ in 5.9K and 4.1K 60p. I plan on using this new codec specifically when doing outdoor weddings. As of now, I have been severely underexposing just to make certain that if the sun peeks from behind the clouds that I don't burn a hole straight through the brides dress, never to be recovered ever again.
Canon and Sony have had some interesting releases the last few weeks. The only realization is that the S1H clearly would best both to an extent if it had Canon/Sony level autofocus.
    With that said:
I know how to manual focus. Glass f/2.8 or faster and ISO 12,800 looks fantastic. Anything more, I will light it. I've run my camera for over 4 hours straight (Hindu Wedding) in 5.9K, and my camera didn't overheat! When video work dries up, this thing is a competent stills shooter. I really don't know what job this dynamic duo of S1H and Ninja V can't do.

He loved the C300 and literally released a video saying it was his favorite camera.
3 weeks later he received a camera to try out that he preferred and instead placed an order for 3 of them.
Not everything is a conspiracy. It's okay to disagree with his conclusions, but let's be real.
