Casey is fine. I've watched a few of his videos and he's entertaining, he pushes himself and his life mantra is fairly inspirational. He seems relatively true to himself and he doesn't seem to be projecting a fake persona, like a hell of a lot of these content creators. But his views need to be taken with an absolutely massive pile of salt. People watch these videos and listen to his mantras they think, 'THIS' is how to be successful, how to be happy, how to do what I love' and because he only preaches 'work work work' and that must make a lot of people feel inadequate. It's normal to relax, it's normal to want some downtime, and not everyone can or should be a workaholic.

Casey's life view is that this is how you get what you want. If you break it down, it's capitalism 101. You are a component in a larger machine, if you're not working you are an unproductive member of society. If you work more, you will reap the benefits. Completely ignoring socio-economic background, ethnicity, physical or mental disabilities. He is a walking 'American Dream' machine. I'm so glad I dodged this generation of hyper ADD attention seeking 'content creators' but part of me wonders what kind of dangerous precedent it will set in creative industries.

Some of the innuendo about me in the Gunn thread is grounds for a ban on any forum no matter what.
I still remember from a few days ago the Catsin situation when he posted an extreme nazi video amidst our argument, claiming anti-semantic abuse. I don't accept him playing that card, and his ridiculous linking of the word 'rat' to that video, and I don't accept kidzrevil's nonsense drivel on this topic either. Stop playing the victim card. You're not a real victim. You just lost an argument, that's all.

True, true. It happens a lot from Trump's side - liars with abhorrent opinions on how to run a country...  they turn the tables in self defence. Trump will label CNN "fake news" because he knows full well the power of fake news. "Fake news" from rival Fox got him elected! When he lies, all he has to do is accuse the other side of lying. It's like some kind of yin and yang strategy.
Of course I expect Cernovich to have outspoken and controversial opinions as well... guess how he attacks... 360... He'll call out the same behaviour in the opposition and get them into a lot of trouble. This is where we find ourselves with Gunn... And those who think it's unfair get labeled pedophile sympathisers by idiots like KidsRevil, because in the first instance he can't tell the difference between an act, and a real person, then to compound that, in second instance he equates defending James Gunn's character, with endorsing the content of his act.
The bar has been lowered so much by people like this, it is why we are having conversations about rape and child molestation in a discussion about a film director.
It's why you can't defend another artist if he's made bad jokes on taboo subjects, which presumably look bad when taken out of context and misunderstood by idiots.
I can't continue to defend Gunn.
I am going to tar myself with the outrage brush and bring all sorts of angry confused accusations onto my shoulders from idiots who can't tell the difference between actual pedophiles and film directors who joke about taboo subjects.
Has Lars Von Trier been interviewed recently? Maybe I should go back to talking about a director who maintains his edge and yet remains relatively unscathed - he's only been labelled a Nazi for his jokes - which is far less worse than being branded a pedophile.

Ever think you're just watching the wrong films? If you expect cutting edge critique and edgy material from your big studio films then you might be looking in the wrong places. Off the top of my head, did you see the horror film Raw, released last year? Yorgos Lanthimos previous films spring to mind. I wouldn't say filmmaking isn't taking any risks. I remember watching Gasper Noe's Love a few years back which featured a 3D cum shot.

I'm curious, Trevor Noah has recently been called up admist all this Twitter drudging on a joke he made about Australian aboriginals a few years back, here. Are we thinking this is PC culture gone mad as well? Where is the line drawn here? Because having lived in Australia, and having plenty of friends with Aboriginal background, I know how a joke like this would be replayed over and over again at schools and universities to make them feel like shit. I'm sure it's the same with people who are overweight. I mean, what a boring target anyway. The most risk adverse 'joke' you can make. And for what? All for a quick cheap laugh. Is that something we should be desperately striving to protect?

Maybe, in this age of mass hysteria, we shouldn't be looking at the fat, the young, the disadvantaged to get our jokes and our kicks. Maybe we should be looking at people a little higher up in the food chain. Basically what Sasha Baron Cohen's new show is trying to do right now. Not with a lot of success, but still, it's nice to be laughing up rather than down.

Which is a pity, I'd rather see twenty risk taking $10 million dollar films than another $200 million dollar blockbuster. 

And it could even end up being overall less financially risky for the studio, as there are decent odds one of those twenty films will end up being a break out success, vs the risk of putting all your eggs in the one basket in the hope of a "blockbuster film". #InvestmentDiversification
 

It seems the EVA1 is really the only choice if you need the 240fps.
As far as Canon goes... yeah I guess... the RawLite out of the C200 edits natively in both FCPX and Resolve. Sure it eats data, but I am seeing more and more shooters using the RawLite for wedding videos and they go through way more footage than you probably will... plus I believe you can use CFast2 to SSD adapters... or I vaguely remember reading that somewhere?
And also remember that a lot of reviews have stated that the 8 bit 4K Canon Log files have more latitude in post than the 10bit files from the GH5.
Anyway my point is that don’t disregard the C200 quite yet... I think you’ll find it offers a lot of what you want/need... except for the 240p... but almost no camera has that, so it’s kind of a bottleneck for your choices. 
Last thing about the C200 and then I’ll stop... a feature that goes unmentioned is that it exports 10bit 2K from it SDI port. So with an external recorder you can get some juicy 2K ProRes with it.

It's not a one-off either. There have been an increasing amount of posts here (not Andrew's, but on this forum) that I've found pretty reprehensible – there was a topic a few months ago where posters made fun of an initiative to encourage more female filmmakers in pretty vulgar terms. I have learned so much from a lot of very talented posters here over the years but I really think discussion with a more political bent should be taken elsewhere. I think it's important to encourage open discourse wherever possible, and that's a hugely important role that films do very well, but when it quickly turns into ugly insults being thrown around I think it's clear these forums are not the place.

I feel like this is a trend and I hope Andrew finds a way to reverse it.

I got a good feeling on this one.. I just hope for our sake they don't drop the ball as usual on video features.. imagine 10-bit, N-Log, HFR & good AF. would be game over as far as i'm concerned!

Gunns tweets were completely out of line. Sorry, but 'fucking little boys' is not comedy and talk like that should not be normalised. The number of Paedophilia 'jokes' he makes is also quite alarming.

You seem to be picking fights with everyone since that debacle with someone calling you out rudely a few weeks back, that's all. I can't remember this place ever being as nasty as this and it becomes a slog to read through – it's not only you, though.

Australia’s home, but I used to travel to NZ frequently. It’s a beautiful country, the nature is incredible, would love to be there and be able to explore and shoot a little, very jealous of your remaining time. 
And so many good options for cameras in this price point, EVA1 certainly wins out for codec and slow mo. Like the ‘living photograph’ remark as well, can’t wait to do some traveling with the C200.
 

Cine4 uses illegal values (0-255) and most programs do not recognize that correctly. Are you using the correct ranges? 
What color profile are you using? I have had a great experience with Cine/Pro modes with slight adjustments to the color depth. 
Also in the past, I had noticed differences in skin tones when contrast was adjusted between programs:

I wish i had more time to explore. we have a trip to queenstown scheduled before we go. but i've been cutting and shooting out of park road post in wellington and have been working through nearly every weekend to make deadlines. doesn't leave much time for anything else. still, i love it here.
that music is a track I got off Artlist.io. I have a subscription. As for the color rendition, I think Canon's emphasis on great skin tone brings an amazing "living photograph" quality to their imaging. It's fantastic. For me, it was between an EVA1 and C200. Made a list of what I thought "won" in over a dozen categories and it was close. but ultimately I chose the EVA1 for its color fidelity, more detailed image, actual 2K rather than HD, and its finer noise character.

Have a look at this in-depth tutorial, there is the option under color matrix to select "Cinema EOS Original" to match the C200 with C300/C100 (around 13mn in):

I replaced it with the Sony 28mm lens, and that's great, but it is just lacking something. Also used a Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4, GFILM settings and Deluts Downtown Alt as a base LUT if you were curious.
