Some recent tests with my new anamorphic adapter and Vlog. Really loving the color separation the lut gives. A few frames arent in focus...still practicing this anamorphic thing

They will upload the real 4K version tomorrow.
The one on YouTube is 720p in 4K wrapper. Already confirmed.

The 6K mode on the GH5 is actually less sharp (sharpened) than 4k. It looks smoother but shows more detail if that makes sense.

The cleanest 8 bit Log footage I've seen so far comes from Canon (C200 e.g), comes close to 10 Bit V-Log on the GH5 which is amazing.

Yeah I used my X-T2 to create the LUTs, I just tried them on the X-H1 too and they seemed to work. I sold my X-T2 but I'm not sure if it was a good idea. I wanted to get the X-H1, but it has serious AF issues, lots of moiré/aliasing in not just 120p, but 60p as well, and I've seen jerky movement with IBIS in more videos. In many ways the A7III looks better, but I can't leave Fuji just yet, I love the colors and their lenses. With my method I could create Fuji LUTs for the Sony though, but I will wait and see if Fuji can fix the mentioned issues.
@deezid is unfortunately right, when you shoot F-log, there will be blocky noise which is not, or not entirely related to compression, and I see it especially in the red channel. At first I thought they fixed this in the X-H1, but now I see it in Ryan Carlson's footage. I had this even with externally recorded ProRes on the X-T2.
This is the red channel after nothing but a color space conversion and an s-curve:

Once you start pushing the footage, you will need heavy noise reduction. I'm not sure if this is normal.
This is the red channel of ProRes from the X-T2 + Video Assist 4K, again, only color space transformation and s-curve:

You can't see if from these still images but this noise is all over the face, especially problematic in the darker parts.

The strong noise reduction (which can't be turned off) and terrible color separation especially between red and orange are other reasons for me not to use HLG. V-Log is way better. In terms of Luma usage both are actually pretty similar. V-Log uses full range, HLG limited range.

I was a Beta tester for Windows 10 hell 3 years ago it seems. I have Never had a problem with it after like Beta version 3. Windows 7 is like running windows 95 in this day and age. That was what I was running before 10. It is day and night different, but in a good way.
People complain about Bloatware. Shit it is that way since it has way more features. You think a program is going to get smaller that has more stuff to offer?  It is like the same crap people complain about Sony menus. It is Huge because it has a ton of features  most of the others don't have. Hell if you don't even have 4k, face detect, IBIS, EVF, on and on I can have a menu that is only 1 page!  Can it be better, well heck yes, but it Ain't going to be 2 pages long.
Get 10, it works and has worked for years now. It is sort of foreign at first, no doubt about that.

When it was 7 vs 8.1 it was a question. But with 10 they ironed out all the performance issues.

The behavior is correct - Alexa does it too ; ) With wide gamut to 709 primaries, most saturated blues become very saturated

Thanks Juan; grading the Alexa seems especially silky to me. Perhaps its the ProRes I frame, the diffused 2k, uniformity of the bits, psychology, or some combination of the lot. The conversion is largely smooth and uniform, as a continuous transform of the space. The GH5 has quite a bit more detail than my Alexa C
From what I can tell, it seems very similar, perhaps with a less green red. There are also the new clipping fixes like in GHa, though the rolloff remains sudden. GH5S support is the plan; Colby Moore will be sending me his GH5S to do the conversion with once I am done primary work on the new process

Cine4 uses illegal values (0-255) and most programs do not recognize that correctly. Are you using the correct ranges?
What color profile are you using? I have had a great experience with Cine/Pro modes with slight adjustments to the color depth.
Also in the past, I had noticed differences in skin tones when contrast was adjusted between programs:
By the way, like @Geoff CB I have also switched to Cine2 as well for most things

The only reason I am not buying the A9, is the lack of picture profiles.
The only reason I am not buying the A7rIII, is that I am hoping A7sIII has the same electronic shutter as A9.
In the end, Sony will get less of my money. Makes no sense.

Hmm rolling shutter is pretty good in video mode on the A9 though, isn't it? Not zero, but still very good.
And I can't understand why they'd want us to buy an A7S III or A7R III instead for video, when these have more rolling shutter, and most importantly for Sony - when these are cheaper and actually the A9 has a bigger profit margin for Sony. There are people who actually want to buy one for video right now and who find lack of S-LOG a major roadblock to Sony earning a tasty $4.5k sale.
    Daft!

Since we first had S-LOG and advanced Cine picture profiles from Sony there has been a restriction that they can't be enabled in Silent Mode, which uses an electronic shutter.
This got me thinking - the A9 makes a big deal about it's electronic shutter - and low and behold has no picture profiles.
Do you think Sony left them out as they conflict with the electronic shutter somehow - maybe they were afraid sports photographers would be confused about why their max FPS just dropped from 20fps to 5fps, because they had PP1 selected.
    I think that's it.
Of course, this is a stupid decision by Sony.
First basic solution I just plucked out of my ass...make the damn profiles work with an electronic shutter! How hard can it be!
Second basic answer... make the picture profiles work only when video mode is selected on the mode dial. Avoids confusion.
Third point is this - how can Sony have the BEST full frame 4K picture, even more detailed than the A6500 on their FLAGSHIP and MOST EXPENSIVE camera and NOT put S-LOG or Hybrid LOG Gamma on it?!
The A7R III and D850 full frame 4K both fall short of the resolution and almost zero-moire achieved by the A9. So they have the most capable full frame mirrorless camera on the market for shooting 4K... with the least number of picture profile options. Well done Sony!
Thing is getting down to £3k used now, so actually cheaper than the A7R III with all the same nice things, but better 4K, bigger buffer, extra dial, faster continuous shooting, better electronic shutter and yet... no S-LOG!
