Above all, I'm so glad because of radiating spirit of great devotion and love between all involving crew. It must be that there's no any significant budget, but pure enthusiasm - otherwise you'd not shoot on GH5
Cheers to all of members - and thank you for the beautiful example how sometimes dreams are becoming reality! (I think that William Ernest Henley and all other unconquered spirits are proud of you

This looks REALLY good. You might mention though that it MIGHT be NSFW because of minor male nudity. I'm not a prude and it doesn't offend me personally, but someone might be working in a place that frowns upon this.

    I completely agree.
But guess what, I was reaching out to Panasonic ambassadors and developers in the past about this issue. They we're either uninformed and said there is no additional sharpening and NR, though the evidence thanks to strong halos in high contrast areas, harshness and sometimes even ghosting is there - or they were laughing at me "everyone loves how our images look"...

Btw. the 6K mode suffers from artifacts thanks to the rather weak H265 implementation, but yh, basically no sharpening artifacts but banding. lol

lol... it's offensive? To who? The camera? Come on... The GH5 has an image that looks like plastic. When you compare it to the detail you get with Red or even Alexa at 2k... then yes, it's garbage. And I'm a BIG fan of Panasonic actually. That's why I'm being so hard on the GH5. I know what they're capable of... the EVA1 image is fantastic. The Varicam image is also one of my favorites of the major cameras. The GH5 ACTUALLY resolves a great image... in the 6K abamorphic mode... where it looks like it disables the garbage Sharpness and NR settings. So all Panasonic has to do is write ONE STINKING LINE OF CODE to disable the horrible, horrible, image-processing. This again, has nothing to deal with one's personal work. It literally doesn't factor into the discussion about camera images.

4k 60fps was the instant preorder spec for me, If you shoot fashion or MV it s almost mandatory, for ND since It s M4/3 there are adapters with NDs you can slide on.

How the hell did this thread get 33,000+ views since Saturday. That is approaching half the X-H1 monster thread which has been around since February.
Just shows how much long-time demand in-waiting there was for 4K raw & prores at $1299
Doubt a mechanical HDD has the write speeds for 4K raw or ProRes. May as well stick to SD cards.
USB C is a great feature for external SSDs though and replacing a bulky HDMI recorder.
Like an Atomos Star but smaller and camera-USB-powered.

If I were to speculate on the battery side...
The larger screen is 1080p... constant 1080p feed to debayer and process, from constant full pixel readout. Mirrorless cams have a lower power, lower res mode for live-view. This probably doesn't.
Raw is unprocessed data straight from the sensor, but the write speeds will be higher, card and card controller more power hungry and dedicated processors involved with compression even (maybe).
Other considerations... the touch screen UI is like running a tablet on the side, from same battery as camera... probably runs on an Arm processor, and quite a lot of background processes going on involved with the display and monitoring tools...
And then there is power and heat management, which probably isn't as well developed as on a camera like the GH5.
And maybe they just selected less expensive, but less power economical chips.

That's what I want from Panasonic, and they're actually able to do that (EVA-1). Why is this so hard?

I won't jump ships if Panasonic would at least offer an option to disable both (at least in V-log and HLG).
Tired of all the filtering and diffusion I have to do to hide the artifacts and thinness caused by it.

If they'll do I would probably just invest into the new Atomos Ninja V instead.

So crop has effectively jumped from 2.88 to 2 times. And usable from ISO400-800 to ISO12800. Wow.
The entire Blackmagic suite is free.
P.S. If the sensor is as wide as mentioned, the crop could be even less than 2x.
