Just put this video out about filming as many scenes as you can in one location and the reasons why you would want to do that. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Thanks! It unfortunately won't be out for a while... we are going to put it in the festival circuit first. I'll post it here when it is out though. Just posted our episode 3 of the BTS for that shoot

I thought I would put together some of the things that we have learned about working with non actors or inexperienced actors. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any feedback or questions..

Indeed, I see some others noticed on YT comments but you didn't address the note... so nothing about the performance of the device then? Just circumstances how you operate the whole thing?

I am not sure I understand the question? Are you asking why it is shaky between 1:09 and 1:24 and not after? If so, I believe I am running between 1:09 and 1:24.

I was a bit late to the whole photo- and videography party, so at the time I was picking up my first camera, GH4 was already available.
So was Resolve, Canon ML, Sony A7S, etc.
None of these were considered by me as groundbreaking, since I simply didn't realize what people had to struggle with before.
That's why I'll refrain from choosing anything video related, simply because I don't think I'd be objective.
    BUT, my nomination goes to...
    SanDisk Sansa Clip+
This little bugger has been with me for almost a decade, day in, day out. Hasn't failed me, yet.
And you know what? Even after all these years, nothing can surpass it. People still can't find any DAP (Digital Audio Player) that could be called its rightful heir.
It plays everything I throw at it. Battery lasts for over 20 hours, still. I can clip it to my belt loop or keep it in any of my pockets. Operating it doesn't require looking - almost if I was typing a text with Nokia 3310 - pure muscle memory.
And the memory card I use it with (128GB microSD) cost more than the player itself.
    It's madness.

*Yeah, I may be a millennial, but I'm not going to listen to music on my phone anytime soon. Who ever thought it'd be comfortable? And wireless earbuds? Nah, plug me (and my 3.5 mm jack) in.*

Mine has to be the Sony A7s.    I have had a LOT of cameras this last decade (and a lot including old point and shoot cameras just this year).    I am now on my second A7s (my first broke after years of solid daily use but I was recently given a new one by my family).      After being without one for a year or so, I appreciate being able to put pretty much any lens on it and simply walk out the door and shoot it at any time of the day or night.
I do not need a huge pixel count or tracking AF but being able to put the ISO on auto (currently max 25600) and not worry is wonderful...with almost every other digital camera I have had (A7, GX7, 7D, Nex3N. several Pentaxes a  couple of Olympus digital ILCs, a Nikon and more as well as many P&S, i HAVE had to worry about the max ISO (A7 was almost worry free for me) and in some cases, simply not shoot at night without flash (or light for video).
It isn't JUST having decent high ISO, it is the dynamic range that goes with it too.    The A7s is stilly pretty good for DR at base (still equal or better to ANY M43 and most APSC and many other FF cameras but it does not drop away anywhere ear as steeply as other cameras (I have some cameras that are about the same at their base as the A7s is at ISO 12800).
I am also finding that simple things like the horizon level in the EVF (that does pitch as well) is a godsend for walking around.
Sure the camera has many flaws but the things it does, it does very well.
    Your choice?

Not sure if mentioned previously, but Mark Bone runs a great film-making channel that tries to talk more about the art rather than equipment...
He also just posted this short doc that he made:

Thanks for the feedback Kye. I am assuming everyone is explaining the controls because they are explaining to newer users of resolve? Not sure... I definitely find that there is a lack of intermediate/expert information out there, but I guess that makes sense since they are working. Anyhow, I’ll probably put a few more of these out in the future. What I have learned over the years is that it takes a lot of time to learn something like colouring. Just doing it over and over helps you improve.

@mojo43 watched the video - cool stuff!
It's definitely a striking result, and you explained it pretty well.
    Some thoughts if I may..
Yes, please make more videos showing your grades   One thing I've noticed from other grading videos is that they start off by talking about the colour, but every time they touch a control they then explain what the control is and how to use it (literally things like which way to drag the mouse to change the value) and I find that really infuriating, so don't fall into the trap of over-explaining the tools (which you didn't) How to use Resolve is covered by many many people, but what isn't covered is the art side of it, both from a perspective of talking about what you're seeing (eg, how to choose a good amount of contrast and what you're looking for) as well as from a perspective of why you want that much contrast and how that relates to the content of your film (eg, how colours link with the emotions of the characters, etc) If you can talk about the art and not how to use each tool then you'll find yourself without that much competition, and the videos will be useful to people who already know how to drive the tools.
I'm looking forward to the next one!

I posted a few clips from a shoot I was on in Guatemala on social and had a bunch of people ask me to show how I coloured one of the clips so I decided to put a quick tutorial together. Thought that I would share here in case anyone is interested. Doesn't seem to be that much on YT for Davinci Resolve.
