​I do entire shoots with 5-axis.  I love it; works for me.  
I agree with your opinion that stabilization can look very artificial when the camera is moving.  It's a tool on my EM5II that works very well for grabbing static shots without a tripod (which I do often) and for mimicking a short slider shot...but you have to practice at it, much like using a glide-cam type rig.
For much of the corporate crap I do, I prefer a quiet lens.  For those shoots I'm trying to keep what I do as neutral and transparent as possible.  I don't want to call attention to my shooting and/or editing.  I put their stories at the forefront and the production style is conservative.
I also concur with your assertion, Implement the 5-axis technology in an intelligent pragmatic way and it's a wonderful thing.  
We all should keep in mind that a lot of shooters you see on the youtubes haven't a clue or are just messing around with testing, (5 minutes of walking though as park handheld?  Who would use that in an edit anyway?) so judging by their work is a mistake. 
And let's be honest, a lot of prosumer enthusiasts can also be talent-limited, assuming that IS or OIS is some sort of panacea that'll make their footage wonderful. Um, no.  If you stink as a shooter in general, your stabilized footage will do the same. (those Canadian guys from that camera store come to mind.  They're gear geeks and can tell you the ins and outs of a camera's functionality, yes, but they're not the best shooters and the footage always looks subpar to what a particular camera can do.)  
Finally, don't forget, if your camera has 5-axis stabilization, you can always turn it off too. 

Praising empty risk as anything worthy should be seen as a crime. There are young people out there trying to mimic such silly gimmicks. I was youngster as everyone here and nowadays I have a fair POV over the silliness of my teens.
 
Aside the lack of 4K as far as I could understand, a last and interesting note in that clip there, though: a word for the female beauty anyway... : D If beauty is life, respect for life is mandatory. That's livin'!

While the NX500 did not perform very well in FHD due to the extremely low bitrate (no PRO setting with firmware 1.0 and even HQ was not HQ) the new firmware greatly improves FHD capabilities of the NX500 as it makes the PRO bitrate settings available.

Come on Ed, you know you're just spreading your new avatar and weren't banned on dvxuser, but only reduser AFAIK. It is not true they love to ban, on the contrary, they feel like to do it when people act there exactly just not trying to not embarass them ; ) As same as when you've played your clown part with that good joke on your video allegedly shot on an unreleased Weapon. Right, they take their business for serious. I couldn't reply you there once the thread is closed, I'm doing it right here. No good humor can save the grace if you're hurting their business. But, hey would anyone allow to break the bank account resources on the payroll bill when there are lots of people to whom to pay salaries in the end of each month? Or the solidarity blah blah only matches when stuff and staff are on our own or outside of this greedy camera industry in any rainbow-good-looking politically correct campaign, as for instance?
 
This is the thin red line to separate the artist from a real professional with bills to pay.
 
The fact is, trust me, they didn't ban you because you've greatly peed both President and CEO of the company in their backyard. They're used to on dvxuser, to begin with...
( BTW I've never seen a single ban there for such sin; as much as I am used to defend anyone when I see people are not there to defend themselves such as happened when eoshd has become notorius for a simple flaw of the humankind -- envy from whom didn't praise Andrew to see him to succeed </OT> )
...and they could have a fair good reason to have hard feelings, after all, they are human beings as same as me or you. One thing you wrote rather well, but I believe you were too short on your acknowledgement. People should have more gratitude on their contribution for the democratization of technology at sane prices in the hand of many. I still remember when artists had no other choice unless to ask for loans if we'd want to keep dreaming with a pro/broadcast standards going on our work. And as you said, you ended to be able to buy three examples of such. Their competitor's souvenir or not, few years earlier, not even one you'd buy with the same amount of money. Maybe some sorta proprietary branded accessory without which you couldn't finish your product?
 
PS: That said, last but not least, I've pre-ordered the upcoming a7RII and I am enthusiastic to buy new stuff for: A Whole Hearted Thanks to JIm!

The title is sounds a little more provocative that it should.  What it boils down to is that I decided to pick up an NX1 and couple Rokinon DS lenses, and we're curious how usable the NX1 is as a 4k B cam for the Dragon.  Now I'm not one for test videos, never made one and would rather not, but I am willing to post my experiences and a little footage if they community would be interested in the results.  I looked around a bit and didn't see anyone else who'd posted the same info, so if you're interested, go ahead and chime in, and I'll be sure and update the thread. If it only ends up only being a person or two interested, I'm happy to keep it off of the forum and just email individual parties.  Lemme know.

So now it's been about 2 years since I started messing with Resolve and time after time, I find that Visioncolor Impulz luts are the best tools to get any footage - from DSLR to Alexa to look like film and in my eyes to look the best.
Their webpage has an incredible manifesto about why using a LUT is good - is cool - is acceptable - and I couldn't agree more:

The other luts I tried aren't - and I've tried them all - well the big ones and the new one but I don't want to mention their names because I don't want to say anything negative but the popular one has too much magneta in the highlights and has weird film pattern that looks artificial and the other one that just came out just has like 10 luts - not customized per each camera's view of what is acceptable for a film stock.

just got the newsletter from blackmagic..these are the new products...the best part is that it uses canon batteries LP-E6! Canon must be so excited (not) well at least they will sell alot of batteries now for the micro and mini

All this craziness on high ISOs comes from his legacy, among others, such as Kubrick or Storaro, of course. I guess all of them loved the 'film noir', actually, the German Expressionism to have moved to Hollywood. Also a minimal concept of light and shadow brought to the mainstream, never seen before except with the italians or french (or Cassavetes in America) three, two, one decades before. But not strictly for aesthetic reasons. To us, arrived as the 'light fimmaking' possible to conquer the world today in Sundance. Even if my mom complains the movies are too dark nowadays... : D Those were golden days when men like him changed forever the way the movies could be made.

We also owe this to him.

themartist, thanks for the tips and corrective feedback...just out of curiosity do you disagree with what i've written?  I also like to engage in conversation despite having expertise or tons of experience, it helps me shape my opinion and build my knowledge, i've learned a lot from shooting on my own but a ton more by posting and reading here.  So I will continue to chime in respectfully, and hope to hear feedback on my commentary directly.
