in DPR forum I know only 3 or 4 female active users (one of them has the most accurate knowledge about optics), and its the most popular photography website! virtu signaling about equality and diversity solves nothing, they can add few females photogs next time and survive the PR disasters. That's what companies are doing, even in the west. Apple ad contents look super inclusive, liberal and cover almost any minority in the American society, but their work space is noticeably male dominated. No, Apple is not sexist, they hire whoever they think is capable of increasing their profit, it's not their fault that many of them are still male, but they advertise in a way you think reality has changed dramatically! I don't want corporations fool me about social issues. I want higher "real" engagement from women in photography community, and I don't think women necessarily need a woman to tell them they can engage more.

ISO 25600 part is unreal. Its like one or at least half stop better than A7R2, while sensor's actual S/N ratio is a bit higher in A7R2. Nikon has a better temporal noise reduction engine? Didn't expect that really.

Proven by who? Where is the source?
And.. I'm sure bean counters in big corporations know better where profit comes from than some random Gender Studies professors.
I don't believe Apple hire males because they are male! Its Apple you're talking about.. a completely liberal company.

I really don't understand how cheap external recorders manage to give us Prores options and camera makers can't! Is there some kind of embargo for still cameras or for video cameras with prices lower than certain level?

I've seen many wedding shooters who prefer shooting 1080p, and guess why? They say the size of 4k files are huge! And Nikon bitrate is only 144Mbit/s! And you say 500 is ok? We're a very small minority.

I don't know what they will do with D5600 replacement but they won't release entry level DSLR anytime soon. The next big thing is mirrorless in first half of 2018.
By the way, it should be embarrassing for Canon that the first DSLR with focus peaking is from Nikon known for its irrelevancy in video market.

For me, it's a great shame the world seems to go from racial and religious division, through political division and onto cultural division so often, like a cycle, and it looks like we're going through one of those phases again, which leads to a world war.
The first thing to happen is the mob mentality, where dissenting voices in the crowd are dismissed even if they might be reasonable and logical.
Be it a far-left uprising or a far-right one, I hate all extremists.
Fighting Nazis is very noble but there are quite a lot who now consider all conservatives or anybody slightly right of centre on certain issues to be flat out evil people. I don't buy that and the Google thing shows that there's a huge, uncontrollable politically correct mob at corporations who can't have an honest debate about certain subjects because they're taboo.

This war is already shaping the environment for content makers. You can't pretend nothing is happening.

I started using bing since the day they fired the guy. Not that Microsoft is any better, but I don't want to use their services anymore. I wish a Chinese or Indian startup make a YouTube rival then I will be G-free. Thanks god Telegram rocks in my country so I rarely need to use email.

There's already been an 8K resolution smartphone camera... 41MP Nokia PureView 808 with 1" sensor.
The problem for Nikon is twofold...
They haven't delivered a compelling innovative camera for enthusiasts... The Df was a disaster. Their enthusiast mirrorless is nowhere. Their lack of dual pixel af a real problem too.
Consumers have moved onto phones, but Nikon have showed zero expertise or understanding of the online services and apps market.

Because time moves in a forwards direction!
The 42MP sensor came out in 2015, it's practically 2014 tech!
Thankfully Sony isn't Canon and they do go forwards rather than use the same sensor tech for 10 years. Or even backwards with 6D Mark II.
