I finally got a chance to use the GH5s in a real world interview setting. I'm matching it up with the Ursa Mini Pro and it's looking gggreat. Leica R 60mm.

A new way to previs with your phone. You can program which camera you'll be using, and different focal lengths. Drop in characters, adjust their height, and sun/light placement. Then figure out blocking. It has a few funky bugs but it's freakin amazing for a free app.

Hell yeah it's a deal. If you have a GH5 you need to get it, with the pan/tilt mount.

Looks damn good. Those Fuji film simulation just nail contrast and color without any tweaks. I was messing around with video on my x100f and couldn’t believe how amazing skintones looked, but file was brittle as hell when moving. Reminded me of the ole T2i. I’d love to play around with some files from the X-H1.

The same music video shot on the GH5 and the X-H1. The GH5 had some manual lens and it's either soft or the focusing is not perfect, so try to focus on color only.
Which one do you prefer? I like the colors of the X-H1 much better.

@Matthew Hartman Another factor: Any brick and mortar store that has a wall of TVs is viewed relative to all of the other TVs. Then it becomes a race to which TV has the "brightest" and "sharpest" image.

Just hung this up in the living room.   A 4k Hdr tv that looks like a picture/art frame on the wall. It displays an image  as long as motion is detected and adjusts its brighness to the ambient light.   Extremely believable and love this feature.   The reason I mention it here is the 4k hdr.   Horrible.   I come from a panny plasma and a 65" 4k hdr lg oled.  I assumed a 4k hdr panel from samsung would look somewhat respectable.  Nope.   Turned off all the typical motion, sharpening,  contrast,  etc...  Still horrible. Oversharpened with terrible motion. If this is the type of image folks are used to viewing,  no wonder no can ever agree on what cameras look good. Drastic difference in the look of shows I know and you tube camera tests.  Shocking a $1400 panel can look this bad in comparison.

So far I haven't used it for an actual storyboard. I've mostly been playing around with different focal lengths and character blocking.

AaronChicago got a reaction from Kisaha in 7" on camera monitors
It definitely takes some trial and error b/c the monitor is so bright, and can display wider DR that was is seen on most monitors. It's great for the field b/c you see super detailed things that are hard to see on a 7" and pixel peep on the DR. For grading, it takes a bit of getting used to. I keep a window open on my Dell 4K monitor as well to compare what it looks like at 400 NITS, which most people will be viewing.

They're just using a ton of fill for the inside. You could blast a few HMI or Daylight LEDs into a bleached muslin sheet on the opposing wall. Then if you still have a decent amount of light to play with use more diffusion 4 ft from the wall.

Based in Canada btw. There's only a single seller for the Quasars up here. I think that drives up rental demand.
